1000hp with 70 year old technology left over OLD SCHOOL miss matched parts stock short block small carb small intake small heads wrong cam cast crank although many small blocks back then had forged cranks!!! Eric just proved without a doubt what you can do with the old school stuff and doing so with using just what parts you had lying around. And you can change the lifters before you can get the heads of your 15 degree ls humm. Thanks ERIC
That wasnt the point of this build. It was to prove LS fanboys that the sbc could make 1000hp with stock parts too. It made a total of 19pulls. Most with boost
@@WeingartnerRacing Your point? No one shoots for 1k on the first pull on this type of build. This is easy with boost on any small block. Weather it holds together long enough is the question. This one did. I have seen many motors fail early on the dyno no matter what they have in them.
That was awesome. Well, except for the mind numbing alarm at the end, that was painful in my ear buds. Powell's cam and your build combination is spot on. Oil pressure was solid. I thought the first 7000 rpm had hurt it but whatever you did on the second run looked like it almost got it back to normal. Would love to see a plug after a run. And whose Oil and what weight are you running?
@WeingartnerRacing risking blowing up an engine AND your lives, for empirical data. That's full send commitment. Bravo! BTW, I'd bet it would pick up another 20hp with a 750 or larger carb. It would be interesting to measure the boost pressure above and below the carb.
I’m not a fanboy of any engine, I have a LS and 2 sbc. I just like engines. I’ve owned cars from all big 3, German, and Japanese. Difference between car enthusiast and fanboys. Really considering the new Holley intake and turboing my 63 Chevy II though
Eric, You are PROBABLY way off on timing. We used an 010 factory block at 30 psi boost and 30 degrees. Lasted three years and ran awesome. Of course I used GRP rods and a Callie's crank. So, your mileage may vary. But I do think, with methanol you could use more timing.
Posted this when you were at 18°. Perhaps you get it up there. The engine needs what the engine needs. Do your thing don't listen to the peanut gallery. Including me!
On my Dyno, which I endeavored to make as honest as possible, it made just over 1200. But, this was with a roots blower. Which is, as you probably know, a highly inefficient machine. So, the actual horse power was considerably more. As the Dyno only measure what is produced to move it, not what is being consumed otherwise.
Me too. Makes me wonder why I do this. This makes me just want to share content with members. Other channels have 10k views and do absolutely nothing. Subscribers didn’t jump either. I think with the cam challenges and things like this I would be closer to 100k subscribers but nope. I gain maybe 500 a month. Most I think are just people that want to complain.
@WeingartnerRacing you do it because you are one of the good ones that care about what you are doing, the actual results and quality of work VS just creating content for views and going with the flow... The world needs more "good old boys" like you and Daniel and less "influencers"!
It’s amazing what stockish shit will do when built right 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻! Richard Holdener is going to be appealing to Eric Weingartner soon 😉😉😉😉! I saw the short video! Better than 1000 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!

Great numbers, pulled more than I expected. Great work!
Easy to make power. One or two runs. This motor has guts. Some do soma don't. Your not the first. Others on youtube done it with a 351w. Good job

Awesome stuff Eric, way more than what I thought. Thanks for doing this.
Thanks for all your helpful videos i put the “how to cc a cylinder head” to good use
Great job as always Eric...and thanks for all you do...I'm curious to see how close my predictions are ...lol
Old sbc still putting in work. I’d like to have that supercharger on my s10.
This is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 912 and eFFin climbing!!!!!

That was the co alarm in the dyno room saying it was dangerous for us

I wasnt expecting 700 let alone 900 the parts are way stronger than expected id say its fairly safe to boost to 800 in a race application
Tighten up the valve lash alittle and see if it picks up. And add a one inch super sucker plate under carb ..for good measures..
had this up for hrs came back nothing happening, it still alive?
Yes, still running.

When it doesn’t pick up 15hp with one degree change it isn’t worth doing. That’s why it is still alive.

I won't get into a pissing match with you, but I'm not a greenhorn. I was just trying to help. Nobody knows everything!
Dam over 900hp on a sbc stock rotating assembly nice
It won't blow until you get into the higher boost levels, say 20's and up. And it might throw rod.
912 hp!!
Tell me again how weak the sbc is.
Oh look 912hp and it’s not even an LS.
What a shock! NOT
NICE!!
Timing at 32-33* max
Disappointed in the views' and comments' count... 😢

@WeingartnerRacing I agree. I don't get it. You share so much information, spending time and money to show real results.
