    This painting needs a name! I send it to the gallery on the 12th, let's throw out some suggestions! First word that comes to mind:

    Incredible…the depth…and your very comfortable way of “telling it’s story” is so enjoyable to listen to, while watching the vid. I can’t wait to see this in person, Sarah!

    Sei davvero " FENOMENALE " Complimenti !!!
    A presto
    Ciauuuuuuu

      Working on two lovely golden hour swans! Tomorrow is hippos and that's it for my planned pieces haha I'll have to see what's been commented on YT, IG, & linkedin thus far and go from there! ☺️

    For a name the first word that comes to my mind is "Gaze."
    As for animals I'm thinking a donkey would be a lovely animal to paint 😊

    Really interesting but im still scared to start my first tiger project please help with sketching outline and stance.

    • @ArtistSarahMcCombTurbitt
      @ArtistSarahMcCombTurbitt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely - the initial sketch helps get a good starting point before you go into the initial block in of colours and then the final detail stage. I highly recommend using chalk as it's so easy to erase it and change lines. There are a few ways to get a good initial outline to work from - you can free hand, you can use a grid, you can measure a few key points like the eye location and distance to the edge of the nose/ear (I do this with outdoor murals especially to scale things up large), you can print your reference flipped horizontally and trace it with chalk to imprint on the canvas the chalk lines (initially I did this so I would draw first to scale and then transfer the image using chalk), and now in the studio, I often project my outlines! For all of the January challenge paintings, this is the method I used as it is the quickest way to get a few landmarks down and test your composition out if I am combining things different than the photo (like the hippo tutorial placing the adult and baby together from separate reference images). Your method of choice to get to an outline depends on what feels right for you and what skills you want to practice :) Hope this helps! Later in this video series I show more real-time footage too as was requested to be more helpful, thanks for watching the first one!

    What colors are you using

    • @ArtistSarahMcCombTurbitt
      @ArtistSarahMcCombTurbitt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I use Liquitex soft body paint - I will try and remember to look at the exact pigments this week in the studio for you! I know in the elephant video (Day 6) I timestamped where I listed the exact colours as there was only 4 in that whole painting in the comments
