      Can the UV resin be sealed with a top coat (like UV nail gel) in order to make the resin more shiny?

    Questions:
    1. Regarding your maths. Why multiply by 3.14?
    2. What's the solution your using to clean the ring.?
    3. Where can you buy the silver sheets and wire?

    This is how a video needs to look like. Very well made. I have made 2 rings like this. One with crushed turquoise stones and one with some other stones, don´t remember there names.
    I used superglue because i didn´t know about the resin at that time. Now i own a Photon printer so i know what resin is. I wish i own a small lathe like yours. I had to file my rings with hand. Good job.

      GomeowCreations I tend to made pendants with crushed pyrite, selenite, flowers and other natural items I can find foraging. That’s how I started making jewellery, but now I’m using my metal smithing skills combined and making the bezels etc., so combining the two is great fun. However, I always use super clear slow curing resin, I haven’t tried the UV stuff yet. I have a UV curing lamp that I used to use for my nails(!) do you think that would be strong enough to cure it in order to file it?

      @@tealdreams If you aren't doing metal work and would like to, may I say - just jump in! I began with the bare minimum in a corner of the basement with a working window, and used a small torch similar to one used in cooking- you can make great things with minimal tools at a small table in a room with ventillation - that's the only restriction - the fumes from soldering require ventillation.
      Now, 6 years into it I've got a great set up that allows for more creativity and ability to work with a greater variety of materials - but I almost never started because I thought I needed a designated work area and a ton of tools (the Beaducation channel on youtube shows how to get started making great pieces with minimal tools and space).
      I encourage anyone who is fascinated by metal work to give this a try. Wire cutters, hammer, pliers, a small torch, and sand paper - I think thats all I had in the beginning and it was enough to keep me busy the first year.
      Best wishes to anyone who's thinking about taking up this craft! Thank you GomecowCreations for an excellent video!

    When soldering the first piece on, would it work just as well to have the outer ring on the bottom and rest the solder pieces on that? Just to keep everything flat so the outer ring doesn't slide down?

    How long would the resin hold going through everyday activities, cleaning, hand washing, etc.? And would it be easy to repair if there was any damage overtime?

    Can you attach those carbon ends and the ring part on a woodworking mini lathe?

    Great video as always, thanks a bunch! I was wondering since I don't own a lathe and on a tight budget, can I just use my small grinding machine with a ring attachment to do the same work by hand?

      @GomeowCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should be able to do that. I have made rings in the past let me this without the lathe. I just used a standard ring mandrel and a large hand file to cut it down. 😁👍

    I have question about what kind of the machine I need to attaching a mandrel ( red color machine you used or any kind of machine could you suggest me please?)

      Hey, so that is called a lathe and here is a link to the setup that I use www.amazon.com/shop/gomeowcreations?listId=2R4TNA7WYWF9P that being said that it is kinda expensive to get started with. You can make a ring like this without a lathe and I have 3 videos about it and I will link them here.

    Can you please tell me more about your lathe? Is this an actual jewelers lathe that you can buy or is it a modified wood lathe that you just need to buy a chuck for? What is the brand of your lathe and how much did it cost you? Thank you.

    Thanks for showing us, would this work if I used natural opal chips from Lightening Ridge, Australia?

      It should work with with that if you wanted to use natural opal.

    Thank you for making it easy to source the resin and UV torch that you use. Purchasing them on Amazon makes online purchasing safe and easy.
    Cant wait to use it. Have your Opal AAA crushed opal ordered. Is it true that your brand of. resin is non toxic? Cant find literature on internet. Thanks, Bev.Jordan

    I adore opals! Seeing they are so fragile, I’ll keep this use for them in mind if I do accidentally crack one during a setting :) Thank you for the inspiration!
    Question: How did you make the 925 stamp inside the ring? Was it done with a machine? I can’t imagine how to hammer it in with the ring’s band being in the way!

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is a good idea for cracked stones haha.
      As for the 925 stamp, it was done by hand with a hammer 😅 I have this stamp amzn.to/2IJ3KD2 It has a bend in it so you can put it on the inside of the rings.
      Make sure to add this before you but the outer bands on or you will have to support the center of the band when you hammer it, that is what I did for this ring because I forgot to add it haha.
      Also make sure you only hit the stamp once with one good hit see that if you hit it more than one time you will run into problems, the stamp will likely not be in the same spot and it will get two 925 over layed and look bad.

    Hello, your videos have really been helpful to me on my journey. I'm wondering if you can tell me what gauge your sheet of silver is in this video, as well as the square wire. Thanks

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think I used 22g sheet and 16g square wire but I do know that the sheet metal is 0.6mm and the wire is 1.3mm 😅👍

    Hello there ! Just wanted to ask if you have any tips to deal with bubbles when doing an inlay ring using UV resin ?? I like to keep a bit of transparent layer of resin above the materials but they almost alway get bubbles in them and when sanding down the excess i just get ugly holes filled with powder from the sanding process.
    Thanks in advance !!

    I've been watching some of your videos. I really like how you show with the larger tools as well as just by hand. I did have a question though, can you, and would it be easier to, heat the material ie ring a little first then put the flux on then the solder? I've done other metal works in the past but not sure if you can with jewelery.
