I did another version of that trick that you posted a few years back. I was at a friend's house and I had put my chosen card in the pocket of my coat upstairs before doing the trick downstairs. In retrospect, I might have taken the trick to too big of a level... it still worked great though! My friend was completely lost! How could have I made the card disappear from the deck and taken that same card to my coat 20 meters away!

When he added 1+4 (from 14) , how did he get the 8 of clubs? The other time it was 1+9.
You add the digits and count from the back of the cards you pulled.
it will always be the 10th card from the right, but you're counting from the left so it's the same thing. depends which way you fan the cards
With this one, I think the best explanation is to literally work it through:
Suppose they picked 10. The 10th card is theirs. You add the digits 1+0=1 and so the first card counting the opposite way it the one you want. (This case kinda sucks, but you'd probably just bluff it and be like "And since you picked 10, we'll use that card!")
Now suppose they pick 11. The card you want is back one place. You say 1+1=2 so count back 2 cards, landing you on the forced card.
I suggest you try it for yourself with the cards face up, and the patter should pop out. If it doesn't, reply and I'll try and explain it differently :)

Prem Parekh You're kinda hoping they don't say 20, but if they do, you just say "Aah, 20 isn't BETWEEN 10 and 20, is it?" and most people will be like "Ah, I suppose not. Fine, 19!" :p If they say "No, I want 20" then it's not the sort of person you want to perform magic for. That's the kind of person who'll grab the deck from you when you're shuffling etc. and it's just not worth it.

I was just thinking that! Even better, don’t count the cards right away, say you sent the card to your phones memory, show a photo of the card then say the only issue is it’s gone from the deck, count the cards to show that and obviously you want it back, delete the picture “oh where’s the card, must be stuck” and remove from the phone case

say we want a managbal number of cards say between 10 and 20 that way you eliminate the numbers 10 and 20 in your script from the start

I like how the ads are a kind of scam too. They just show something and you think it's something completely different but in the end, they say something about Domain.com and you're as surprised a when Brian shows you a new scam. Awesome way to show advertisement, amazing scams. I'm subscribing!

just performed this, and the reactions were amazing. A tip for performing this in a well lit area is spread the cards and keep the hand that you used to spread the cards over the top card with tape in a natural manner and began to explain the selection process, then , move the same hand to count and no one will notice.
Still a little cheap force. I mean, first you need to select between 10 and 20 cards, and then you do the math-wizardry of adding the digits together, but both are suspicious. I mean, if you weren't already suspicious of Brian Brushwood.

the trick is great but i personaly dont like it because its not a clean trick if they look through the cards at the end they will find the trick and thats why i dont like it but im not saying its a bad trick not all tricks are 'clean'

They made a video like this ...a few years ago....that card was transported inside Brian's shoe....while the force was like the episode where he uses a frixion pen "the hotseat card trick"...remember....
Someone explain to me what's the point of 4+1 for example? the rest of the trick is easy stuff but what the fuck is the point in making the picked number 1+4 I can't find a reason for that what so ever. We picked a number alright why do we have to seperate the two digits and plus them what's the excuse for that I'm totally confused.

I remember in a previous episode of Scam School Nate Staniforth did a trick with flashcards and he used a glue that could unstick like throne on post-it notes, would that work too??

hey scam school i usually try to figure out the trick before its explained but i find it really hard to see when the camera keeps switching angels during the trick if possible could you try keeping the trick within a single shot or atleast cut down on the amount of camera switching during the trick i would greatly appreiciate it and thanks for the awesome videos!
Scam School is it possible to set your lock screen to that card that you're forcing instead of actually using a duplicate card? Just for some effect

0:58 Between 10 and 20, so Brian is selecting either the 9th or the 18th card. Couldn't be below 10 or he'd go out of cards. Anything from 10 to 19 will go to 9, anything from 20 to 29 will go to 18, anything from 30 to 39 will go to 27, anything from 40 to 49 will go to 36, and anything from 50 to 54 will go to 45. If they do say 20, then he'll probably say he said "between 10 and 20", which suggests it does not include 10 and 20. He has thus forced their card to be the 9th one in the deck.

He placed their card on top of the card with tape on the back, so it looked like it disappeared when really it was just stuck to the back of the taped card.

why does the top card need double sided tape?
Im so confused. So, if the selected card is the 10th one down, how would you force it on the them if they chose let’s say 11. 1+1 is 2. How would you get to the 10th card with only counting 2 cards?

For a more experienced magician, why not try using the whole deck, and a pocket index with another identical deck so you can have the spectator randomly select a card, have it vanish, and palm the duplicate anywhere youd want

It says, "Im a greedy motha fΩ©%€r."Netflix and Audible sponsoring a channel that shows people how to break into homes should get him banned. It gets plenty of money via ads (from non youtube red'ers) plus the 💰 she/he gets from views. I originally subbed after the first video and then saw this sneaky theivery ad and unsubbed immediatly. I pay youtube to not have ads and she/he's the first channel I see doing this. She's a little millenial butch and judging by her hair I think shes a dude. Bet Clinton got her vote. Liberals just do whatever the hell they want. Selfish and abusing things for greed.

You say, "between 10-20" but you know eventually someone is going to pick 20. How would you suggest forcing the 10th card and still make it sound fair? Divide the number?
If they pick 20, you can say that you said "between" 10 and 20, which means it doesn't include 10 and 20. And it forces the 9th card, not the 10th card.
I think correcting them would seem suspect.
Either that, or prime a card for upto each of 10, 19, 28, 37, and 46, if you want to use the full deck. Since the tape is on the top card, you can hide any of these away to reveal at your leisure. Also, most people avoid the very edges of the numbers you select because they want to make their choice random and the very edge seems very non-random.
