    Marriages like this are why women should stay on birth control as long as possible, do background checks on the man and his family, and have secret escape money. $1500 is not enough to cover rent and food.

    • @WolfeSaber
      @WolfeSaber 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      If I was giving $1500 to my spouse, it would be for food, toiletries, and others with the rest going into a separate savings account. The rent and other living expenses I would have paid myself before giving her money if she didn't have a job at the time.

      While I don't disagree, there are far more marriages where the woman is at fault. This channel has a few of them along with several others.
      Just seems like it is near impossible for Men and Women to trust each other in the modern era because of the absolute worse of the worse that exists and gets exposed.

    • @CooperGal24
      @CooperGal24 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Actually, it’s more like the man or woman should do a background check on the people they’re dating before they consider marriage.
      One of the big red flags should be how the would be in-laws treat you, and how your potential fiancé treats you.
      If they treat you with disrespect, entitlement, controlling issues, like a Mama’s Child and gas-lights you, that’s when you say “SEE YA!” and ditch them all!
      No need to feed the enabling toxic flames with more fuel.

      I am married 34 years now. Hubby works. He has never turned his nose up at beans! Low fat, low calorie, high protein. Sure meat is awesome, but not the be all, end all of a meal.
      No, I do not work outside the home. I do not have a paying job. I don't buy groceries, he does.
      When things are bad, there are food pantries for those that need it. Thrift stores.
      Nails?! Nope. They would get so badly beaten up with doing dishes. They serve no purpose other than decorative.

    $1500 is poverty level. I am on disability with my hubby. We make not much quite that ($1400ish), with spcial diet. We scrape by. Food bank really helps as well as other sources of free food, items, etc. Tg they pay for medication and dental (to a degree).
    Budgeting helps but not always possible. Very often more goes out than in.

      Yes - budgeting only works when you have money to budget. If you find yourself living week to week- as many people do- no matter what you do, if there’s no money left over, you can’t budget nothing!
      I don’t think people who have never had to struggle understand this.

      A food bank is a good idea, only you should learn about the requirements for the food bank you use. I know some food banks require some documents to use their service. Others might only allow you to use their services so many times in a set amount of time. It’s not that they are trying to be rude to anyone. They are just trying to help as many people as possible to get back on their feet again.

    It's okay to ask every once in a while to see if a friend can lend something, like once every 3 months or more, but asking for free things every time is ridiculous, there's a limit to generosity. If they say no, you accept that and back off. I asked my cousin if I could have a video game she had and she said she'll let me borrow it for a little bit and I accepted that because I CAN GET MY OWN!
    And also my mom and I are friends with the owner of a salon/spa, if I go with my mom to her appointments and they have room, they squeeze me in but we still pay! Because we don't exploit her, her and her employees are amazing and do great work so we pay them the money their work is worth.

    I was the free family babysitter, because, "you want to help (name of person) don't you?" I cut them out of my life now. Moochers can be anyone in your life. Mooching makes Everyone's life harder than it needs to be. Family and friends who do this need a huge wake up call. No sympathy for the husband and his mom.
    These stories also have the running theme that wives are to obey their husbands and their MILs. The Bible also teaches men to treat their wives with love. Proverbs 31 comes to mind. The perfect wife helps pay the bills by working. That also honors her husband. Men are to leave their parents and to join one's self to his wife. I take that to mean to take his wife's side over his mom, lol. No momma's boy here.

      My wife can stretch a dollar so far that George will sing soprano. If she says she needs more money I don't question it. She is a Proverbs 31 wife and I am very proud of her. The reason we have what we have is because she makes it work. I've never had a big income but we don't have a mortgage or rent to pay either. She is a natural beauty so she doesn't wear makeup except for lipstick when we go somewhere special. I have never gotten tired of looking at her and as I have often said, one of my favorite forms of entertainment is watching her. I've only been married to her for 35 short years and I hope to stay married to her forever.

EX: If you grow a vegetable garden and you end up with more than you can eat. See if you can exchange veggies for a haircut. If they say yes it's yes, if they say no it's no. And if it's no still offer the veggies so they know that they are not being used.

      Agree I have bartered in the past myself. The only time I accepted something for free was shortly after my husband and I got married. There was a baker’s school that I used to pass every day on my way to work. Sometimes in the evening when I was on my way home, there would be students out front giving away bags or boxes of the baked goods they did not sell that day. I was given bread, cookies, cakes, tarts, etc. Of course I went there whenever I needed to order some baked goods for something. The school sadly for me moved to a new location, but I hope they all had successful careers.

    Never skimp on money on doctor or dentist! You get what you pay for and you would need to pay more for repairs than you did if you did your annual check up and cleaning!. Leave the free stuff to people who actually need it! If you want a cheap massage or cheap haircut, go to a massage school or beauty school for the interns to polish their skills. That way both people benefit. I wonder if dentist in training need people to practice on to keep their skills sharp. Any dentist ( current, former or retired) or dentist interns out there can answer this question for me please?
    FYI it's illegal for massage interns in my state (tx) to accept any tips from clients because we don't havr our own license and practicing under school license. My school had undercover people that test the interns by leaving tips for them to test if they take the tip or not.
