This is the voice that created the legend. It was gone by 1966. I listen to Roslyn kind if I want to hear the early voice. Please release more of the early recordings if possible. Thanks
HE COULD SHOW ME a ballad from a 1967 off-broadway musical NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN which opened on Sept 26, 1967. Lyrics by Gretchen Cryer nd music by Nancy Ford. Opened at the Theatre de Lys, on Christopher Street, Greenwich Village. Sister Roslyn Kind mentioned on a Canadian TV show in 2010 that she had recorded the original demo for this song, but it was never released.
I rushed to the record store and grabbed up this 45 single when it was released in January 1968. I fell in love with side B and this has been in my top 10 favorite by Barbra Streisand ever since then. I wish she would release it on a retroactive compilation. One can only hope. Man, that is one warped 45 this was recorded from. I couldn’t tolerate the rhythmic changes in pitches.
I got this 45 yesterday along with a massive haul of 45's and 78's that I've recently acquired at an estate sale. This song was the B-side to "Our Corner of the Night". Both of these songs were released as a single, and it was never included on the album. This was one of her non-album cuts.
This,as well as the "A" Side of the record did not make it to ANY album, and it also did not chart. The "A" Side is "Our Corner Of The Night". It was a rocker that came out in February of 1968. Both sides were very good.
It wasn't fashionable in the 1960's to indicate on the record label that a song came from a broadway musical. Many of the songs that Barbra Streisand recorded in her 1960s Lps came from musicals, but it was not indicated on the label. Some were songs deleted from broadway musicals, also not indicated.
This is a Gem of a find. Wow that vocal .... should be re released on a Gems like compilation album like Release Me series ...
Wow! ♥Somehow I've never heard this one. It's 2023 and this still hasn't been re-released.
Simplemente maravilloso.!!

This is the B side to Our Corner Of The Night. Check it out.
I'm always surprised when some young person makes a comment that Barbra in 2022 sounds just as good as she did in 1967.
Her voice back then was SO strong.

It sounds like Burt Bacharach. Beautiful song. Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil.

Eine göttliche Stimme, daher kann Barbra nur eine Tochter des Orpheus sein .

Release Me 3?
Well presented video of Barbra with interesting images. I always wondered if this song was from an off-broadway musical/ Anyone knows?
What album is this from? Never ever heard this. I thought I'd heard everything she's sung.

Another new one for me. Why have all these newly emerging songs never been released as a collection?
INCREDIBLE BUT WHAT A TREAT AFTER ALL THESE DECADES!

If what I read below is true, thank you, God, for keeping the Roslyn Kind recording from ever seeing the light of day.
Roslyn kept her voice as it was originally. I wish Streisand’s had too. Was it lessons or having a baby that changed her voice and her persona?
was amazing that voice..sounded not too good at nassau coleseum concert...
