Do you even KNOW how almost ALL of these dolphins are obtained by sea world?? Not breeding, but capture. They are herded by boats into a cove, which is then net off, and dolphins are then selected (separated from their pods), sold to marine attractions to live in concrete tubs, separated from their friends and social life a lot of times, and then live short of their life span by many, many years!! And if they are bred, most dolphins spend their entire lives with their mothers, but sea world separates them when they are usually two or three. This is NOT ok.
I've been to Seaworld but when I was there, the dolphins seemed pretty happy. It was great, they are highly talented and smart. But I'm not sure if they'd be happier in the ocean or in Seaworld.
Dolphins need to live in the ocean so they would be free. A small enclose is not good for the dolphins. They do trick for food. They starve them a little because dolphins are smart enough to know that if that if they do the tricks, They get their food. This is cruel to dolphins
@@jowitawisniewski90 I can assure you that they aren't being starved dude. It's like teaching a dog tricks. They still get their food, they just also get treats.
Slightly entertaining but not good enough for keeping these beautiful wild animals in captivity. I have paid for boat tours to see them in the ocean but I have never visited one of these theme parks.

Dolphins do a lot better in captivity if the circumstance is that they can't be released back into the wild. My friend work with dolphins and she told me that the dolphins she worked with were not able to be released because the were abandoned by there mother. but they're very happy were they are.

Just came back from Seaworld today, the dolphin show was very lackluster, brought the grandkids expecting to see this show, we were disappointed to say the least. Bring back the old show!
I manage a project to monitor wild dolphins. I was curious to see the comments on this vid. If the dolphins were genuinely unhappy they would not participate, they have that level of intelligence and behaviour to make up their own minds what to do. The truth is they are incredibly social animals and recognise humans as one of their own, that's why they get along so well with their trainers. I suppose the issue here is one of captivity and welfare. These dolphins look healthy and happy to me, though in an ideal world the best entertainment is to see them in their natural habitat and environment. As for any animal suffering its more likely the human animal than the dolphin animal in that respect!....
***** This is a very emotive subject and its not just about dolphins, there are other intelligent creatures used in a similar way in circuses for example. I agree dolphins should be in their natural habitat and viewed as such. I was only responding to the various comments other people had made. The question is whether these particular dolphins are suffering due to their captivity, it is not as thought they could be easily released back into the wild such would be their attachment to people. My project is ongoing NE Wild Dolphin Monitoring Project which you can Google.
Evan Michael NE Wild Dolphin Monitoring Project. You can google that or find our group page on facebook. Of course wild dolphins behave differently because they have not been "domesticated", its like wolves vs dogs, but there are still common instincts. There are arguments for and against these kinds of shows. Personally I'd prefer people to see the animals in their natural habitat.
+Amber J & K The dolphin's so-called smile is merely the shape of its mouth - dolphins do not smile. Watch the movies "The Cove" and "Blackfish". Do you really want to support cruelty to animals and crimes against nature. SeaWorld will eventually be arrested and jailed on charges of cruelty to animals and crimes against nature. All the captive animals will be moved to sanctuaries. If they do not heal enough to live in the wild, the sanctuaries are their home.
Bec Massell wait what? SeaWorld is not commuting any crimes. Everything is legal. And sea sanctuaries are dangerous. Most of SeaWorld's animals were born in captivity and have adapted to a filtered, sterile, and safe environment. Their bodies and immune systems would be exposed to pathogens, viruses, and bacteria if try were moved to coastal sanctuaries. And I've watched Blackfish. In fact, I was working on an analysis of Blackfish when I got your notification. And while I've never watched it, I am full aware of the horror that is Taiji. SeaWorld does not support it. The only aquariums that buy dolphins from Taiji are in Russia, Japan, China, Taiwan, and one place in Oceania (can't remember the country). The man who made the cove has stolen and illegally transported dolphins. He ended up illegally releasing two dolphins. While the two dolphins were found and taken to the dolphin research center 3 weeks later, they had been starving and dehydrated. He is not a dolphin expert by any means.
+Amber J & K You are obviously a troll. Is SeaWorld paying you to post misinformation and lies? The captivity industry obtained exemption to the Marine Mammal Protection Act to be able to do what it's doing. Did the captivity industry bribe somebody to obtain exemption? SeaWorld does support Taiji. SeaWorld knowingly associates with those who are involved with Taiji. Many animals have died being innocent captives in SeaWorld's barren, chlorinated, cramped tanks. None of the captive animals will live to their natural lifespans, including the animals born in captivity. Animals born in captivity frequently die in infancy, and more die a few years later. Procreation is not possible in captivity. The man who made "The Cove" (Ric O'Barry) released the dolphins in order to rescue them from the cruelty of captivity. Everything else you take out of context is your attempt to deceive the public about him & to try to discredit him. Ric O'Barry is an expert in dolphin behavior. You claimed that you watched "Blackfish", then you admitted that you have not watched it. Do you really expect people to believe anything you write from now on. This is for the benefit of the public, not for trolls: Sea sanctuaries are not dangerous. Willy (Keiko) the orca rehabilitated in a sea sanctuary and was successfully released into the wild. The media's claims that the rehabilitation was failing, that releasing him into the wild would kill him, and that being released into the wild killed him were media ignorance at best and captivity-industry lies at worst. The ocean's salt water is a natural disinfectant, and orca and dolphin skin and eyes need it to stay healthy. Humans are exposed to bacteria, viruses, and pathogens; as long as humans maintain a healthy lifestyle, our bodies are able to fight off infection. That fact applies to sea animals, too. Before the arrival of humanity, orcas and dolphins were thriving in the wild for millions of years. Humanity has been very destructive to wild orcas and wild dolphins. It is humanity's responsibility to remove pollution from the oceans, remove dams that threaten salmon populations & cause orcas to starve to death, eliminate noise pollution from boats that disorient & deafen the animals' sonars & cause beaching and deaths, and remove discarded fishing gear that causes orcas and dolphins to drown. SeaWorld poached 40% of the Southern Resident Killer Whales for shows and displays, causing the species' current endangerment. Marine park chlorinated water damages orca and dolphin skin and eyes. Captivity is not safe for the animals at all. In the wild, dolphins (and orcas) are highly social and cooperative. In captivity, the abuses and stress that the animals are subjected to, cause the social infrastructures to fall apart, and the situation becomes very dangerous to all the animals. The results are seriously injured animals, and killed animals. Examine the videos for bite marks, scratch marks, and bloodiness on the animals. "A trapped animal will attack. A traumatized animal will kill." There have been 100 orca attacks on trainers at SeaWorld. Two trainers have been killed. SeaWorld management has been covering up the attacks and deaths. SeaWorld never informs the trainers about this, keeping the trainers uninformed about the risk of working there. Every time you buy a ticket to a dolphin show or to an orca show, you support SeaWorld's cruelty and you support the Taiji dolphin hunts. Don't buy a ticket. Stop captivity now.
Sea Shepherds are an amazing group of volunteers who do what they can to stop Tanji hunters from slaughtering the adults in the dolphin family pods, and capturing the young to be sold and trained for entertainment.
Simply awesome!!! What Sea World has learned from these animals is used to save the wild ones. So glad a company has done this. The animals saved by Sea Word is countless. Can't wait to visit Sea World!!!
Can every one please just shut up for one second? Instead of shouting "FREE THE DOLPHINS!!!!", take a moment to realize why they are there.. The sea creatures that preform and live there have been injured beyond rehabilitation back into the wild. Sea World cares for their animals and if they were really abusing them they would have been shut down long ago. So before you ignorantly shout nonsense, take a moment to analyze the facts.
Listen to yourself. "Injured beyond rehabilitation back into the wild"? And yet they perform 4 to 5 shows a day 7 days a week? Yeah, that makes sense. They aren't "rescues." They're bred from "stock" that were often violently captured before SeaWorld's methods resulted in them losing their capture permit and eventually the Marine Mammal Protection Act. You're a moron, and you hate dolphins and whales with your actions, convoluted beliefs and astonishing ignorance. Don't pretend otherwise.
Off coursr it is animal abuse! What if you were taken from your family and friends, and into a tiny little pool or whatever and forced to do stunts and live in that tiny something for the rest of your life? Dolphins belong in the ocean and will always do!

@Devilcorn123 yes, that much I know. But not everyone right? I don't want to start a fight here. Just a discussion. I wanna learn something new, but I also have something to say. And that is, yes, I'm aware that animal abuse did exist. And there's Allot. But does that mean that every animal trainer are guarenteed that they abused animals? Does actions of some, represent the actions of all? for example I have dogs. If there's an animal owners out there who abuse their peta, does that mean I torturing mine too? I beloved Same goes to dolphine trainers. Just because some company maybe misstreat their animals, that doesn't means all of them are. It Seems every animals show is concidered animal abuse now days. Again I don't want to offend you or start a fight. I want to learn new things, but I also have my opinion to say. ("Some" is not "all".).
Dolpins are smart and they hight chances of : hunted by sharks, trapped in crab cages, and evenfishing nets. And dolpins if they stay with a human for a couple of years it with make a bond and if they do lget let into the wild the wouldn't eat/hunt for themselfs or even be in a pack because they would expect the humans to do it for them!
They are such amazing creatures.. I feel so hypocritical by watching this because I love it so much but at the same time it hurts me inside to think of the poor things having to live a life like this :(
How about you watch Investigation of the Cove. SeaWorld doesn't get it's dolphins from Taiji, exactly why you shouldn't believe everything you hear, sheep.
If the dolphins didn't enjoy what they do then they wouldn't do what the trainers say. The trainers care for the dolphins as its there love. I'm Sorry but Dolphins are much safer in places like this instead of the ocean where anything can happen to them.
We mean the animals that are not injured and need the use of a prospective tail. Nobody would ever send out a animal out to its death bed on purpose. We are trying to say that the physically and mentally healthy dolphins and orcas should be released back to their natural habitats.
really amazing to see dolphins show theire natural behaviour. wow now i want to see the dolphins in the wild. that can save me a lot of money for a ticket and see the same show.....so exited.

On the one hand, this is a beautifully choreographed show with stunning visuals and the dolphins are worthy of any star. But on the other, these poor animals are being manipulated with food and used as actors in human skits, skits that are complicated, time consuming, and need to be practiced over and over and over and over and over and over (you get the point) again to get to this level. You can just see that the dolphins are really tired of it and want the food, their movements are rushed and not timed with the music...
@@auravillxYT First of all, I have no idea what you just said. Second of all, this was six years ago. Third of all, I'm not condoning keeping wild animals enclosed.
I really love Dolphins and I actually went to SeaWorld in Orlando a few months ago and saw a Dolphin show and as good as it was, keeping these animals in captivity just for out entertainment feels so wrong to me
Before watching blackfish and finding out how much the whales suffer I would really enjoy this, but now it just feel very wrong (I take dolphins and orcas for being quite equal). If they are gonna suffer for years in this captivity, it would be much better if they just died instead. Other parts of the day, most of the time, those animals are in way smaller pools, probably not even be big enough to swim around, and got nothing to do. Way too often they are divorced from their family members which is very important for them. ot sure but I've read that they also give drugs to the dolphins, to control their behavior. If I remember right it causes pain and anxiety to the dolphin.
i see what you are saying, but its also good to interact and study them as well as some other animals to study behavioral patterns, its so much about this planet we dont know about geographic and animal wise...and we live on it ...earth is our home as well as the animals that live here, it would be nice to know something and everything about them as well as our planet
I was followed by the spirit of a dolphin, there are powerful spirits in the sea, you know they want us to join them and they dont care about the living, thats why, we respect the dolphin, you can learn more buy studying its spirit, than its body, but also know sometimes, its not just a dolphin.
Appreciating these animals is one thing but this is nothing short of teaching bears to dance. This is NOT natural or nature !! Go and take a dolphin watching tour instead.
This is disgusting - how so many people still go to these barbaric shows is beyond me. These beautiful sea creatures should be living in the wild not performing tricks in a swimming pool to earn a few fish for dinner. PLEASE STOP GOING TO THESE SHOWS people..... :(
These dolphins and every animal at SeaWorld is fine. Stop spreading assumptions and lies, please. You can't return a captive cetacean that has been in captivity over a couple years into the wild. Or they will die and it's against the law. The only way to help them thrive and survive is to visit and support SeaWorld. Where all the animals receive top care, love, enrichments, etc.
Dolphins are such brilliant and beautiful animals. Though I must admit, these shows are rather entertaining, especially to see how smart a dolphin is in learning and remembering tricks, they don't belong here. I'm sure their trainers take great care of them, but they shouldn't be confided to such a small tank with human-controlled resources. It hurts my heart knowing they will most likely live their life in the same place they were placed in from day one. They belong in the ocean, to be free. We've had many shows, and plenty of experiments with them. We know these creatures a lot. Now it's time to release them where nature intended them on being.
DuckDude23 I should have used a different word, as that's not what I intended. I'm sure with long training, they could at some point be suitable for supervised life in the wild. Or, we could cease having a splash fest with dolphins of newer generations.
I've seen the show in real life and they actually have a huge tank out the back of the show tank so don't worry they get great care. Also the park has people in like animal inspectors to check if the space for the is big enough
I don't wanna see how smart dolphins are in learning anything just for people's joy. That's so unnatural for these beatiful creatures and so old fashioned for 21st century.
All the people who say, "yeah this is great, it's so exciting seeing dolphins performing tricks!". I would like to see you all live in a small tank performing tricks for other people. I bet you would quickly change your view on how 'fantastic' life in a tank is. You wouldn't be able to cope with it! So why would you put these intelligent and social animals in the same situation? Just look what Sea World is doing with Tilikum. They're sending his body away to be dissected for research. Even after he's died they still make money out of him!!
I went to sea world not too long ago and saw the dolphins (people are allowed to touch them) and the poor things looked so sad and weak and they had thousands of little scratches on them :0
Let the dolphins free. They don't deserve to be in captivity in pool for people to profit from them. There is nothing other than commercial reason for us people to do this to wild dolphins to be coerced in to man made aqua pool. They have reasons to be existing away from all the hyped up musical enhancement to which we clap our ape hands upon them.
Don’t be hypocrite! You don’t like this vídeo and say You want to "save the whales" but love to eat hamburgers and barbecues. Have you forgotten that to become a hamburger an animal was treated poorly and sacrificed? I love “ Blue Horizons”!!Good job!👍

They belong in the sea. This is a circus. What a waste of one of the earth's most beautiful creatures.

At my encounter, which was at Orlando SeaWorld, The Dolphins would scream if the Diver said "Boo!" Which was really cute.

Bring back the old show!
nice video i love seaworld so much
I manage a project to monitor wild dolphins.
Evan Michael
May I use a clip for an intro for a new series I'm making?
+Amber J & K yes
***** thanks! :)
+Amber J & K
You are obviously a troll.
This is for the benefit of the public, not for trolls:
Sea sanctuaries are not dangerous.
What educational value this show has?
The children go home and think dolphins were just clowns. oO
We have to stop Sea World!
Nope
Nice video! Thank you.
It leaves me dumbfounded that people can still watch this in the 21st century. To keep these beautiful intelligent animals captive is sickening.

@Wakel Ersers not true
@Wakel Ersers they dont beat or kill them.

On the one hand, this is a beautifully choreographed show with stunning visuals and the dolphins are worthy of any star. But on the other, these poor animals are being manipulated with food and used as actors in human skits, skits that are complicated, time consuming, and need to be practiced over and over and over and over and over and over (you get the point) again to get to this level. You can just see that the dolphins are really tired of it and want the food, their movements are rushed and not timed with the music...

I agree with you
In Ireland they are considered a negative spirit by fishermen. Or one that is aware that humans are not so bright.
i see what you are saying, but its also good to interact and study them as well as some other animals to study behavioral patterns, its so much about this planet we dont know about geographic and animal wise...and we live on it ...earth is our home as well as the animals that live here, it would be nice to know something and everything about them as well as our planet
I was followed by the spirit of a dolphin, there are powerful spirits in the sea, you know they want us to join them and they dont care about the living, thats why, we respect the dolphin, you can learn more buy studying its spirit, than its body, but also know sometimes, its not just a dolphin.

This is amazing!!!
+Ciel Phantomhive I don't understand you anti-caps any more.
+Ciel Phantomhive Correction: I never did.
I've seen the show in real life and they actually have a huge tank out the back of the show tank so don't worry they get great care. Also the park has people in like animal inspectors to check if the space for the is big enough

Let the dolphins free. They don't deserve to be in captivity in pool for people to profit from them.
