In this CK3 challenge we will attempt to establish Finland's natural Scandinavian borders - ranging from Western Finland (Sweden), Southmark (Denmark) and the Baltic - by starting as the weakest count in northern Europe. Can Count Mieulus of Olavinlinna use the power of vowels to establish himself as emperor of the northern lords? Let's find out!

As a Finn, I say that this is what actually happened in History
Props for doing the Finnish names! Here's my ranking so far:
1. Metsänvartija - Perfect!
2. Olavinlinna - Pretty good, just keep the emphasis in the beginning!
3. Savo - very good, just keep the first vowel short.
4. Suomi - sounded more like SuAmi, the diftongs are hard!
5. Turku - vowel sounds were closer to Y than U
6. Kainuu - First one was excellent but the next one changed a lot
7. Pohjanmaa - was perfect otherwise, but the J missed hard 😂 Finnish J is pronounced like Y in English
10 extra points for Perkele and Tuonela!!

As a Finnish person I can confirm I throw parties from time to time but no-one (sometimes not even myself) attends them.

lol I tried so hard to pronounce their words - the Finnish language is quite difficult!

I m italian and it doesn't sound like Italian at all.. The vowels were short and closed which is the opposite of what happens in the Italian tongue(not counting regional dialects)

@@BrianJRichards I think it's mainly because Alzabo uses Italian sounding intonation for pronouncing the words :D

Ah yes, good old Olavinlinna. What a pleasant surprise to see one of my favorite paradox-tubers bring might and land to my beloved hometown (modern day Savonlinna, where Olavinlinna is located). Many oppose, but Savo is inevitable!

(Also fun fact: "Onni" means luck and "lempi" is kind of like love even though the word "rakkaus" is used more often. Onni and Lempi are still used as names but they aren't that common.)

Finland was my first game of CK3. In that game I learned that this game is TOO EASY. Conquered almost all of scandinavia with a couple of rulers.
The game is not really about map-painting though

@@raivolasta5205 200 years is a fairly long time to get emperor tbh. You can get it within one characters livespan if you try. In ck2, if you tried a Charlie run you would have conquered the entire world and beaten china in that timeframe (The marriage/inheritance game, Blood of Alexander, killing characters for invasion CBs, Crusades, etc).

I’d love to see a kind of “religion tutorial!” Should you reform religions more than once? Should you switch to a religion with tenets closer to the ones you want, even if it means you would have to conquer far away holy sites to be the religious head, or should you risk reforming your religion twice, if it’s too expensive to do so in one lifetime, and thus keep your local holy sites from your original religion.
