Absolute yes sign another kicker. For whatever reason it seems York Is a head case and overthink s his kicks. Regardless of whatever he's not able to handle pressure and make his kicks. As of now he's just too inconsistent to be trusted. I don't wanna hold my breath on every field goal and XP. AB has done a magnificent job putting together the best Browns team in 2 generations. We can't let a head case kicker derail the season.
Best example I know is why the infamous Red Right 88 happened in the first place.
The Browns were trailing the Raiders in the 1980 playoffs 14-12 in -30 wind chill. The Browns kicker Don Cockroft had missed 2 FG and an XP. So 2nd down on the Raiders 13, less than a minute left in the game, Sipe underthrows and the rest is a bad part of Browns history. Cockroft was a good kicker but he was hurt and the cold made his kicks miss. But that's an example of how a kicker affects the game. AB has GOT to get a new kicker. He's got 2 weeks to find one.
Keep him on the roster for kickoffs and as a waterboy. The one we have now sweats in the waterbucket
I'd rather have a GM admit that the picks were misses and free up the roster spots. We're talking about picks that have a 20-30% chance of being a decent player in the league. Mark Cuban has a great quote about one of the best things you can do in business is to fire people. His thought process is that you usually know quickly if someone is not going to work out, and it's better to cut bait sooner rather than later in those situations.

Imagine if they stick with York and the Browns end up losing 2 of those early divisional games because of missed kicks? In what is likely to be a tight division, that could cost you a playoff berth. The Browns do not have the luxury of patience with York.

I think if he gets a new holder, he will be fine. It’s his holder is the problem. There’s something he’s doing to the ball to make him pull to the right.
Who holds the ball in practice? York makes all his kicks in practice.

Tom Brady's draft class one guy besides Tom made it 3 years on the Patriots.
Taking emotions out of it, he looked really good after preseason last year and even into the 1st regular season game. After that it seemed like a coin flip. This year he has not looked good in preseason making it look like he is regressing instead of making progress. I'm not an expert at kicking a football, so IDK if it's something Bubba is trying to fix with his mechanics or what is going on with him, but it doesn't instill confidence in the kicking game. I'm just a regular Joe and that is my 2 cents.
We have to also look at the holder. Another podcast stated he'd screwed up other kickers before. Also look at changing holder!

No because it’s not the kitchen kickers fault yeah it’s in his head but it’s not his fault. I think it’s his holder because if you look at his stats, his death is not very good. Every hole that he had for the kicker had low rates so there’s something he is doing to make the kicker missed. I think they should get a new holder.
Why do we even need to ask the question? Do the Browns need to sign a kicker? YYYYY!!! If you say no, ask yourself this question. Would the Patriots have won all those Superbowls without Adam Vinateri??? In the end I believe we sign Mason Crosby.

Kevin Stinkowski will be replaced mid-season. He is too nice. He is afraid to let people go because of their feelings. Do you think Belicek or Andy Reid would keep a kicker that misses every game? Nope! That's why Stinkowski will be fired. Go hire a real coach.
It's fuuny how York has a little slump and everyone wants him gone. What about Watson? We haven't seen anywhere near the a good QB out of him yet. Why not cut him? Has the rust gotten knocked off yet? If not... why isn't he getting more preseason reps? Is he so awesome that he don't need practice now?
We need a kicker. If this dude wasn't drafted he would be out of here already. The Menu (TM) goes for it on 4th downs way too much. That strategy complements this kicker's ability very well!

I want the Browns to hire Phil Dawson to coach Cade York. It won't touch the cap and we won't have to try to roll the dice on someone else.
I'd rather bring Dawson out of retirement, he would be better
that's a very savvy idea. if you look at history, many kickers bounce around 2,3, even 4 teams before settling down. if we can get york to succeed here long- term (like dawson) that would be great.
