Rising alternative-rock band, Sleep Alley, returns with their much-anticipated new single "Pag-Uwi." This year, Sleep Alley comes back better with a more refined sound and character. Part of it comes with the revamp of the band and addition of a new vocalist in Catherine Sale.
Cath joins the Sleep Alley vets Jude Daluz, Alyssa Pagaduan and Kyle Tesalona and the chemistry is apparent; like the band never missed a beat. On their latest, they weave quite the memorable melody in “Pag-Uwi.” A driving song marked by memorable acoustic motifs and deep grooved rhythms.
Here, Sleep Alley manages to get a hold of their own distinct sound and at the same time, deliver a track filled with excitement and anticipation as they sing a song about longing for a loved one.

Nung narinig ko itong kantang ito, naalala ko yung isang nakilala ko nung college ako, magkaiba kami ng course na kinukuha, tapos magka-chat kami pag-uwi niya o kaya late night na, inaabangan ko pa nga yung tapos ng klase niya o kaya yung oras na nakauwi na siya sa kanila, tas kwentuhan na kami noon hanggang sa dumating yung point na magpapaalam na ako kasi matutulog na ako kasi may klase ako ng umaga.
Dumating lang talaga yung point na di na kami nag-uusap at minsan annually na lang kung birthday niya, saka na lang kami nagkakaroon ng time na mag-usap ulit.
Kung mapadpad man siya dito, Hi! Naalala ko lang bigla yung mga time na nagkukwentuhan tayo pag-uwi mo tas minsan inaabot na ng point na matutulog na ako para sa klase ko kinabukasan. Iyon lang, napa-reminisce lang ako hahaha :)))

this pandemic put a strain on a lot of things from careers, health, safety, as well as relationships. i fell in love in a pandemic year and the first thing i thought of when i heard this song would be her. i hope she isn't tired of my countless rants and breakdowns over the phone. it doesn't help that we have to keep our relationship as a secret to my parents (strict parents and well, closeted as well). the one thing i hope for aside from this pandemic to go away and being ready to come out would be that when all of this is over she'd still be there. i sent her this song as a way to thank her that she's still with me for almost a year now but also a subtle request for her to be with me through ups and downs as i would never hesitate to be with her during those times.
