CATALINA ISLAND - Wild Bison in the Pacific?

More than a million people visit Catalina Island off the coast of California every year and every single one of them is amazed by what they discover. Some people come for the Catalina Casino, which strangely enough, has never allowed gambling; it’s a ballroom and theater. Others come to see where Marilyn Monroe used to live or where the Chicago Cubs trained for thirty years. Most people, however, come for the wildlife.
It’s the remarkable biodiversity on land and at sea that steals the show and that’s why we’re here. We cross paths with whales longer than a city bus, hundreds of sea lions soaking up sun and explore one of the world’s top diving destinations. And we bicycle 22 miles across the desert island in search of one of the few wild herds of bison outside of Yellowstone. Yep, hundreds of bison!
