Oddly enough I noticed Rammatra does really well at stopping Venture. Whenever they would try to burrow on my team I would ravenous as they came out and they just got deleted since they go nowhere after surfacing.

I miss playing Venture, their combos are so much fun to pull off. I hope we get some significant balancing next patch to open up the meta more, I wanna see what I can do with more Tank arrangements than just Sigma and Orisa and even see how the Hammond rework plays around them.
Thing is, the ult has a cone like shape spreading outward. So it's a lot harder to use on closer enemies. If that Moira had been jumping like that 10 feet away, she would get wrecked by the ult's width.
Now with the full release of Venture, the best use for the ult I've found is supporting the rest of your team in pushing or countering a big push. Flanking the enemy and disrupting the dps and supports of the enemy team on top of the fairly high damage per shot will either outright kill or melt the squishies enough for your teammates to finish them off easily. I'm by no means a high rank player so I can't tell how well Venture will do there, but in the low-mid ranks I've found decent Venture players getting 3 kills with the ult quite frequently. Overall pretty good character, but not so op they'll break the meta or anything.
Was shocked to hear you didn’t name Cassidy as a potential counter, since mag made locks Venture out of most of their kit? Maybe it’s just not as often of a threat as a sombra or hog?
i do think cass is a good counter yea, he can also target them in their dig, although this might be a bug. cass can also kind of roll out of ventures combo if hes quick enough.

Venture's ultimate is wild. If you flank on a grouped up team, you can kill all of their squishies before they have time to react to the first impact. It's not as good as some other ultimate in the game in 1v1s, or as a tank buster... but that burst potential against brawl is crazy if you pull off the flank.
the camera lock is the sole reason i don't touch the hero. it lasts much longer then expected every time, and blocks your vision, so how am i supposed to adjust my screen?
Had all the same critques I did on their kit. Fun hero, but feels underpowered compared to how the last few heroes were OP at release and then tweaked. But I think I'll play this one a lot.
The issue with Venture vs Tracer is that Venture is doing at least as well as Tracer after a few weeks, when most Tracer players have thousands of hours experience, whilst Ventire also annihilates Tracer 1v1. I think she's utterly broken, especially at Diamond and below where teams do not instantly react to them attacking the backline. They just give free value to weak players at diamond and below.
On the topic of being unable to cap or push objectives in Burrow: all invincibilities work like that iirc. Tranq, wraith, and ice block all can contest, but can cap objectives

You're cooked. Venture has the most glaring weakness in their lack of range, gigantic hurtbox, and being extremely suceptible to CC. Their sustain is not nearly as bad as Mauga's, the CC is obnoxious but infrequent (and also boops are not nearly as complained about as other forms of hard or soft cc, see Lucio). No one really complains about mobility except for Kiriko's, which is quite frankly somewhat ridiculous, as a Kiriko main myself. Stop thinking everyone is out to get you. We all have problems w support hero kits because purely defensive abilities like suzu, immo, grip and pylon are awful to play into.

Not really true because if you use dash while underground the cd is shorter and if you combine that with a fully charged jump you can dash again immediately when you come out of the ground

I feel like they should make it so you can quick melee while the ult is active. This would allow you to combo someone you knock up with the ult with drill dash and a quick melee which would lead to a kill
As a Sombra main, she is a great counter to Venture. As it happens against Bastion, I will empty a full clip into your body without missing a bullet, with the occasional headshot. Her hitbox is big and juicy for Sombra's gun
For the ultimate, I think one of the biggest issues is that even though you can two shot people, most smart players play around cover, so even if you land one ult charge, you'll never get the second one off if the enemies have any mobility. I think having the ultimate apply a 1.5 second hinder/slow (just long enough for you to land a follow-up hit) the ult would be more useful for offensive kills and on defense as a zoning tool. The damage can be reduced to compensate, as that seems to be the biggest issue for lower-ranked players.
the only thing i would like to see is more tech. old doom was my fav coz of all the wacky interactions with the physics engine that were actually usefull in the game. animation cancel is neat but doesnt really satisfy the itch of using rocket punch to launch yourself into the stratosphere to get the 125 slam. player her felt to me like everything that happened was kinda "intended" but mb that will come with people getting to play her more

I was surprised how enjoyable Venture is to play and fairly ez to pick up, I usually don't play heros that can't crit but their combos make up for it in a satisfying way. Ult is quite good in chokes but might need some touch ups to shine, like the ability to fire the wave from an elevated position. Nice breakdown of the new hero :D
