First off i want to thank you for all of the videos you do !!! I started researching griddles and came across your channel and I'm glad i did. You helped make our family's decision on which griddle to purchase "hard" (lol) because there were so many !!! Seriously though, the information and details you provide us as viewers is awesome. I went back and forth on which one to purchase 3 burner, 4 burner, trap in the rear, trap in the front on and on....... So after 3 weeks of geeking out on Griddles we ended up going with the Traeger Flatrock. This Bad Boy is "AWESOME" ! Well built and easy to put together. Just like you showed in your video this griddles burners stay pretty even. No big highs or lows. We have had this going on a couple of weeks now an have used all but a couple of days. My wife is happy she doesn't have to cook as much and the family is digging the food. Thanks again for all your help in helping us get the "Perfect Griddle"
I’m so happy for y’all! Congratulations on getting the Traeger for free, your hard work is paying off by getting sponsors. Can’t wait for the first cook. Thanks for sharing your cooking with us!
Yes, this is my first griddle. I got grills smokers, but I’ve always wanted a griddle and I did research and to me the Flatrock look like is one of the best ones but that’s my opinion.
Sometimes version 2 gets its design and features within days and weeks of releasing the first. They lucked out with all the R&D from other manufactures that came before their first version.
I got the new high-end Traeger smoker last year. It shares much with this griddle - the new rail system, same grease bucket, built like an absolute unit… and the price tag was through the roof. I have to say, though, it has been a joy to cook with. Somebody in product marketing over there obviously decided there are already plenty of budget options, and maybe they could carve out a new name for themselves with a line of no-corners-cut products. Time will tell if consumers want that, but it’s nice to see that not everything has to be built down to a price. I am very lucky that this griddle is propane only. My patio is all set up for natural gas. So this is a temptation I don’t have to worry about. Keep up the good work! Your channel is the one I keep coming back to for griddle ideas and knowledge.
Great comment...I appreciate that...yeah its amazing when looking at box stores the difference in new models and older ones...they have definitely step up their game...
Congrats and nice to see the respect from Traeger to give you a go at reviewing their product. I love the honesty and just how y'all present your info in the videos. I always come to your channel to take notes when I cook on my Blackstone. Take care and go Vols!
Enjoyed our first cook on the Traeger! Because of your advice, it went off with out a hitch. I really feel that the Traeger was the right decision. I ended up doing 8 seasons. The cook was bacon, par boiled red potatoes & eggs. It went off great. The eggs slid off with ease. Can’t wait to get another cook started. Thanks!!! You are the best
Awesome fun!! You have a history of high integrity with clear and concise information which makes my griddle learn experience exciting and enjoyable!! Thanks to you both.
@@TheFlatTopKingdid you see Recteq just came out with a pellet feeding griddle? I love my recteq grill but not sure what to make of a pellet griddle. Since you’re the flattop king I’d figure I’d ask for your opinions. Great channel btw! Learned a lot from your videos.
I have a 3 burner blackstone and have been cooking on it for the last 3 years. I use Trager smokers so I am looking to upgrade to this. Thank you for this great video and all the great detail.
Awesome overview! I’ve been doing a lot of research on stand alone griddles for awhile and finally jumped in and picked up the Flatrock yesterday. Had a successful cook with ribeyes, onions, mushrooms, and asparagus. Best crust I’ve ever put on a steak! The way this is built and how it performs so far, definitely worth it in my opinion. The build quality and warranty itself put my at ease for the extra $ in my decision making. Also wanted to mention, I received a nice discount from my local Ace with the veterans discount ☺️
I continue to see you ask this question on various message boards in an assumption way which would lead me to believe you’re somehow motivated to start this narrative. I’ve cooked on the Flatrock for a year now and this has never been an issue. Not once. As of yesterday we have had zero complaints on this issue into our service center. I guess it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do. 🤷🏼♂️
#1 thing I spotted immediately: no air gap under the griddle plate! My Blackstone 28 uses 3x the fuel a grill with a cast iron plate does. Looking forward to seeing further vids!
Spot on. The recessed griddle serves to both keep in the heat for even cooking, but also for fuel efficiency purposes. Massive savings over the life of the griddle (likely in excess of what it costs).
OK buddy, I have since looked at Countless videos on all kinds of Griddles and videos including your videos with the wife of course 🤗 I decided to pick one up "Traeger FlatRock Griddle. I know previously I was upset at the Price mark up and Warranty Flaws, compared to other products and seeing so many TH-camrs sell their soul to some companies. I am glad you were honest and did not. So These are the Reasons I end up getting the Trager compared to what others offered. When getting Value for your money counts I figured this one Justified it. The sweet spot for this one would of been $799 but Traeger has gone public and they have investors to respond to for profit and I get that. 1. Propane monitoring sensor system. 2. U shaped Solid Stainless Steel burners for more flame coverage and even cooking. 3. Powder Coated paint? and Or High Temperature paint? 4. More Solid body than All other Griddle Brands With little to no wobble. 5. Four Locking Caster Wheels. 6. Strong nice solid lid that serves as Grease Backsplash. "You can close to melt Cheese" Not to cook with long periods. 7. Large Grease Bucket, Probably larger than all Griddles? 8. LED Flame indicators for each dial. 9. Solid True Zone Chambers that separate each burner from another for better control cooking? 10. Also another solid sheet metal under U burners for better support and breathing. 11. At 189 LBS has to say this is a Solid Griddle and should last years to come. 12. 5 Year Warranty "Limited" Not sure if all parts are 5 years but the outer body is. 13. Fold down Shelves 14. Biggest Shelves in the griddle market? 15. Flame Lock Construction, Recessed Griddle prevents wind from lowering heat temps or blowing them out all together on a windy day. Most Griddles lack this Feature. 16. Pop and Lock Tool Accessories System. You can always add a magnet System later? I'll be honest with you, the fact that my Capital one Card offered me $269.99 in Cash Rewards or use however I like rewards if i made the purchase, that also was deciding factor that made me pull the Trigger as well as Analysis of all other griddles and your Videos. So all in all, I end up getting this Grill for $630.00. I can use the $269.99 to purchase The Traeger Accessories as well. So that's awesome. I believe it was an "Exclusive Customer" offer from Capital One not from Traeger. Traeger owes you a sales commission from my purchase. Thanks to you and the wife for sharing and helping me make my Decision. 🤗
Hey thats a really legit comment right there...Thats why I always say its not my money because value is in the eyes of the beholder... I would caution this and maybe you have more info than me.. .6. Strong nice solid lid that serves as Grease Backsplash. "You can close to melt Cheese" Not to cook with long periods In 3 different places its says do not use lid while griddle is hot or on...Yes I have seen people use it...but im just going by the manual..
Just picked this model up today and I love it, first griddle I have owned. So many choices out there and without seen this video before buying mine, when I saw this model with comparison to others it caught my eye it looks and feels well built, simple, classy and tough, the size is just perfect…
That's a awesome griddle👍 l knows that you will let us know how the griddle works. Happy that you are excited to use it. I really like it that you are very Honest.👏 Neal it was also cool seeing you excited with the cardboard box house.
Hey thats awesome...I did a huge review on the big 3 that i have...The Blackstone, Weber, and Traeger....as you can see in the review, its a beast and does a great job...Check out Pros and Cons...
Watched a lot of your videos and decided to go with this one. It was the bread test showing distribution of the heat in your comparison video. Excited to cook with it.
@@TheFlatTopKing Absolutely. It will be delivered assembled today (Because i'm lazy) so I will get a chance to figure it out. Also, I was on the fence given I am a Yoder enthusiast, but your video's and impartial approach were the real selling points. In a time where companies rely heavily on influencers to sell, sell, sell, it came off of as if you had the viewers in mind and wanted to answer our questions. Again thank you and looking forward to more of your content.
Just got my Flatrock from Ace Hardware. I absolutely love it. Its my first griddle, so I dont’ have a great frame of reference. However, I agree this thing is an absolute beast. Smash Bergers have become the families new favorite grilled food. Love it.
Over all of the griddles I've seen you review, this one appears to be the most well thought out one. It looks like they've looked at their competition and took the positives of each one to make a perfect griddle. I imagine I'll have my Camp Chef FTG for quite some time and I love it, but to have a hinged lid and that wide mouth drip opening and huge drip reservoir are huge steps up from the camp chef. Great review and I love how you are unbiased whether you purchase or receive from the companies. As always, thank you for great reviews and I'm looking forward to seeing some first cook videos.
What's nice about it is that if it's too big for your application just fold down one or both side tables. I being six ft five really like the height on this one and as far as price well you get what you pay for may apply too this flat top griddle. Anxious to see you cook on it especially a humongous breakfast.
Nice review. I just watched Sam the Cooking guys review and he baked a puff pastry with the lid closed. This is the first time I heard you cannot cook with the lid closed. I'm glad you measured the top because some review I watched said the top was 40". Overall it looks pretty solid I like how they put dividers between the burners. Loco just updated theirs with a similar setup. Now let's see how it cooks.
Yeah I saw the same thing...definitely shocked. Heck it says it everywhere..on the shelves...in the manual...in the instructions...so Ill stick to that fist then see how it goes...I did the first cook yesterday...will post tomorrow
@@TheFlatTopKing I didn’t know I was allowed to cook with the lid down on my blackstone at first. The manual never mentioned it, but I asked their support and they said yes. I wonder why Traeger went that way. I expect you will hear a response from them to your final thoughts, so maybe it’s something worth asking about.
@@TheFlatTopKing So that they can do an updated version later on and say "We listened to customer feedback." These companies all virtue signal intentionally. And it gives them and their youtubers more material to keep their name in circulation.
You can definitely see this flat top is ahead of most of the competition in terms of quality. Unfortunately It has a $900 price tag which is $400-$600 more than most other flat tops. The only one that competes in terms of looks is the loco I think
Nice job, that thing really looks impressive. Looking forward to more updates and insights. Traeger said if you don't like it that I could could come get it.
🎉🎉 shout out to the camera 📷 lady .. great views all the time .. I may not comment all the time but im subscribed.. I appreciate your honesty... that flat top is great for windy days .because the way it sits💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
The Traeger has an awesome flat top griddle. I just purchased one and I’m so glad that you just got one now I can learn from you on how to cook on it. That is so awesome.
Definitely the best review I’ve seen on TH-cam. You are they first person I’ve seen show the bottom of the griddle top. I’m curious to see how it holds up. You review didn’t look like a Traeger commercial. 😂 I have two Camp Chef 6 burners that I love. I would love it if you could do a head to head review with the new Camp Chef 4 burner with lid. Cheers and happy cooking!
Thanks for watching Fredy....yeah I love doing reviews Because myself like to look at things on line and always ask myself about things...I dont any Camp chefs at the moment...I did have the 4 burner and absolutely love it..
Brotha, that is a sexy looking rig! I didn’t even know Traeger made a griddle. I can see the gleam in your eyes, and I can hear your wheels turning in anticipation to see how it performs. I can’t wait to see what this bad boy can do, very curious to see how it stacks up. By the way, that stage coach packaging and prop is SUPER DOPE 🫡 ✊🏼🧐. Shoutout to Traeger for the homie hook up!!! Cheers y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
Awesome. Traegar has great products. It is expensive but compared to what you paid for the Weber.......night and day. My budget fell into the chargriller range and I love it. Still learning and watching your videos inspires me to use it more and more.
Hey thanks so much...just like all things...its going to work or not...lets just see...so far really nice and has its flaws as well...posted first cook today
Many bennies to that griddle: built-in wind guards for sure, and the hinged hood, both of which were lacking on my Blackstone. I definitely like those burners and the burner dividers as well as the rear vents. Oh, and that grease canister- primo! If I do two pounds of bacon on my griddle, my grease cup is overflowing and I don't cook my bacon so hard it crunches! The one thing I haven't seen available are adjustable legs for nonlevel surfaces like my patio! Anyway, I'm anxious to watch your first cooks on it! Enjoy the chuckwagon, uh I mean the stage coach!!
ahahhaha Well those screws on the bottom will unscrew a touch for more leveling...love the thought that went into the stagecoach... as a parent its the little things
Heck ya Neil!!! All I can say is I enjoy using mine and here is the proof I like it, I haven’t sold it 😂!! I have had mine for around a month and enjoy using it. I only keep the pits/griddles I review if they are built solid. The Flatrock is certainly solid but easy to move around! Traeger will have this in their line up for a very long time and my guess they will have at least 1 more model in the future. Great video!
Hey thanks bud...I appreciate you taking time out....I think you are spot on...Need something either smaller or portable...so far its had its ups and downs but today was fantastic...cook 2 big breakfast I did the first cook yesterday...will post tomorrow
Hey Dead Broke, you're the one that alarmed everyone about the hot grease trap hole. Still a bother or are you over it? Also are you bringing the lid down to help with the cook sometimes?
@@gosman949 It never really bothered me but that was the first thing that I noticed when I first started cooking on the Flatrock. Now I just cook around it but again it is not a lot different than having it the heat escape all around the whole front edge like other griddles. Yes I have dropped the hood on one smash burger cook and I didn't notice anything.
Hey bud Sam the cooking guy also got one he did a breakfast lunch and dinner episode but did not do the hole set up and season I love that it tells you when you running low on profan
Yeah I saw that...I noticed he also used the hood and a dome and the instructions explicitly said NOT to... I was kinda shocked....it even says not to on the shelves as well
Traeger is well built - but 1) price is excessive & 2) nice cover that you can’t use while cooking? Could you please review the round Cuisannart 360 griddle? Thinking of buying that one. It’s not a $4000 EVO - but it’s close. Thanks. And you (& your lovely wife) make terrific videos!
Glad you have the treager! Been waiting for this review! I have a Treager pellet grill, very well built! They go big or go home! I've had my grill for three years and it's holding up very well! It is used all year long and in Wisconsin we have some harsh winters! Right now we have 3' of snow on the ground! Griddle on and God Bless!
Would love to see a review on the new top of the line 2023 members mark 5 burner griddle. It’s a tank as well with some really nice stainless steel panels and cabinets. I have a hard time buying Target products because there are several other brands that do just as good if a job cooking with better features and the same or better durability when it comes to pellet smokers. Maybe they hit something different with this griddle, but I won’t hold my breath. Thanks for the video!
Great review. Ricer at Deadbroke bbq did as well. Hey, don't feel the need to apologize for excepting a free cooker for a review ever. Just be up front with them and the viewers. I like the extra effort you made with the boxes. Still for me this unit is well above my price range for a flat top. But it looks nice. Have a great day 🌞.
I plan to use outside my garage when I want to use it and store in garage when done. Is it bad if I use it in the rain ? I don’t have a deck or porch to protect rain while cooking. I am from the PNW
I love my Traeger smoker - this griddle looks great. Love the fold down shelves and the tank stores underneath the unit. PS: buy a cover for it - I did for my smoker and it is worth every penny. I was given a 22" BS - nice gift but it is too small, even for just the two of us. Not impressed at all. This griddle is pricey but it is better to invest in a good, large, sturdy griddle than to have to replace every couple of years. With a cover and a little care this will last a long time.
I'm looking to buy my first griddle, I'm trying to decide between this and a Loco 3 burner. Do you have any experience with a Loco griddle? Love your videos
My initial impression matches your’s. Price? Well, that’s always an individual decision. You buy what you can afford and what the perceived or actual return will be. I’m liking what Traeger did here and looking forward to your cooking reviews.
Got to admit, never saw a box printed like that. Great idea as Amy says, marketing was listened too. What is the price point this thing lives in? Where is it made? Just watched the first cook as well, agree with the holes in the side and the grease drain. Also around here, the wind would get to the griddle with those big vents. Good first view.
That’s a beauty Neal! Congratulations on the new tank and can’t wait for the first cook! You deserve this opportunity and hopefully more to come! Awesome review! Cheers 🍻
Hey Neal, I certainly agree it’s a beast BUT….did you mention the “electric” “plug-in” part? I realize that you don’t have to start it with electricity but us outdoor cooks should know about the electric start or the wire wick start. (Without the plug in.) BTW, that electric part makes this griddle a non starter with me. I love the build. And it’s a propane gas utensil. But the plug in gives you the easy start and, I think, the tank measurement. Thanks again.
I think I either miss spoke or we are on the opposite page hear..in my video I post on Wednesday with big breakfast we go over it in detail . The power only controls the propane sensor and lights to show the griddle is on. They batter powers the ignition only which my blackstone and pit boss have. The unit does not need electrical power to operate...sorry for the confusion
Watched the big breakfast on the new Weber….zoweee….that Hawaiian roll breakfast is da bomb! And a great idea - even for people that don’t have a griddle. Fairly sure the combo would work on their stove except it’d be a lot of pans & a ton of cleanup. FYI - haven’t found the Big Breakfast on the Traeger yet. Should be appearing soon. Thanks !
It's ironic watching this. I knew before you mentioned it that it was probably a promotional item sent to you by them. I also knew you would give an honest opinion on it before you even said it. I just happened to be watching QVC this week end and they had my Blackstone Griddle on sale and were demoing it. The first thing I thought was "Ya'll should have got Neal to do this. I love my Blackstone but it was free for me to try, review, and keep also as I am a Spark Reviewer. This particular grill you have does look to be well built. Has some really good features too. But that cover could be an issue for some like me. Not sure how Traeger missed that, but I am sure they can address it in future models or even do a modification on the present. As far as the price, well that cover could be the issue for me. It's just at that price point my expectations are raised. I do not mind paying for quality, but when you are talking rating any item I tend to break it down into several categories and an item costing more I tend to grade harder because my expectations are raised. I am looking forward to videos and your opinion as far as grilling goes. (That could sway opinions one way or the other.) It will make for some very interesting viewing ratings and opinions, especially with the side by side comparisons. I did love how Traeger is confident in their product and stands by their product. With all this being said I do have one very important piece of advice that you can use in the future. Never Ever call your wife "An Old Lady"
ahhahhahaha Well behind the scenes...that was take 3.....in the first 2 I said ol lady....but in take 3 everything else was good enough...the first take she tripped over the lawn decorations ...ahahahah
Looking forward to seeing how effective the zone cooking is. Suggest cooking some of those famous pancakes on one side, eggs in the center and maybe some hash browns on the other side to demonstrate it can be done without burning any of them
Yup, that is the only thing that really sounds different. If it really works to a significant degree it is a selling point. I probably don't need another griddle but I've done dumber things.
As a single guy, I bought a smaller Blackstone to get started, also so i can take it in the RV. Thanks to your teaching, I'm really ready (and saving up) for a 3+ burner for home. I need the zones! Budget is not always the biggest issue for me, so after seeing the features, I'd say I love those shelves, construction, the propane mngt, and the grease mngt. Curious, does the griddle surface top rest directly on those zone dividers for support? Please, get those cheesesteaks started, I'm a griddle peasant now, but am aiming for griddle prince level and gotta see how that Traeger cooks!
Tragers marketing department is killing it with that box, but their engineering department must be relying on the trager name. How much food are you going to push down that grease trap, and do you want to scrape hot grease towards you? For that price there needs to be a cabinet and shelves. Totally confused on how all those free accessories get mounted up? Hopefully you cover that in the next video. Are there magnets or hooks for utensils? Also really interested if the compartmental zones work. And those burners look huge. Will you be able to get consistent low temps (300) out of them on a low setting?
Well lets break down that comment... So far NO/ZERO griddle I have used has been low 300s on low...The Weber is the closest Moving grease towards you is very common. Maybe not to residential units but in the commercial world its all we have. A lot og griddles have grease in the front. Camp Chef and many others. So I like that BUT i do no like the location. Absolutely correct on the food landing in the whole...way to much. Along with the handles on the sides...food is finding its way through those way to much It does have a rail system that allows for extra storage and utensils things..all sold separately... Lastly I would rather have the propane tank under the unit like it is ....for true drop side shelves...But it does sacrifice a bottom shelf...but then the side shelves are absolutely massive... The first two cooks have already been produced and one posted today... it mentions alot of what you are asking about
I think Traeger got very complacent on the pellet grill side when they had the patent to the technology. When it expired, they didn’t respond well and you could either get similar quality for half their price or something considerable better at the same cost. Fast forward a few years and that competition has caused them to step things up a lot. Little surprising to see them produce a gas product but not surprised that they’ve come out with one that’s high quality.
Ya know...i had never had any Traeger before this and was not aware of the history like this....I have has several comments about similar things...of course since this is my first its my only knowledge of the product. Had no clue about propane etc...I have felt older models of pellet grills and truly was not impressed ....but these new models....wow
Is that the only one they make? Matt from Meat Church has one with a little butter wheel thing in the back left corner, but maybe that's just something he sat on there. But it looks like you melt butter in it, then roll a little wheel around and you can rub your buns / bread on it to butter them easily, so that looks pretty neat.
Nice that Traeger see value in your opinion and the reach you have. Congratulations for that! That being said, $900?! Nope. Pitboss Ultimate and Weber are half the price and will cook just as well.
LIke I said,,,,its not my money...here is a thought I have mentioned before...its like a car. They have all kinds of options and prices for all...but they still get you to point a to point b..for the record I would not put the pit boss ultimate in the same category
Enjoyed the video….as always. I’m happy to see Traeger getting into the flattop market. I have one of their smokers and love it. I have a 4 burner Blackstone and love the versatility. Keep up the good work
Excellent video, as usual. Off topic: As a Navy vet myself, I keep looking at that framed flag with the seal behind you. Did you make that? If you didn’t, can you share where you got it at? I certainly do not mind an affiliate link, but I gotta have one lol.
what they should have done was made one of the side tables with a sauce pan burner that you can just take a cover off of to use it. some sauces go on better if their hot.
Well edited overview and commentary. Alway have wanted more counter space. Love the idea of the partitions. Still like the idea off the grease drop in the back. Watched it twice hoping to see something about levelers for the workspace. 4 locking wheels are needed for the weight factor. Thanks for sharing the selling attitude. Proof of the pudding is in the ……………….!
@@TheFlatTopKing Perfect, now I feel better about watching you cook on the crowded porch. Not much room for the stage coach Amy! Maybe he’ll let you stand in it while video recording.
Neil... At the rate you are trying out new griddles i.e. Weber and now the Trager Flatrock. I think a back deck expansion may be in your future. Trager sent one of these to Sam The Cooking Guy out in San Diego. He did a video yesterday with his, and Trager must have sent him two so he could give one away. I don't think Sam did as good a job seasoning his as you did. Your seasoning looks really great. Can't wait to see your first cook(s) on the Trager. I kinda like their basting dome with the little rubber "Blow Hole", but then I already have the round and the double length Blackstone domes so I'll pass on getting the Trager dome. I think the Flatrock's size was designed to compete with the Blacksone 36" models, because with the Blackstones they jump from the 28" to the 36" models with nothing in between. i have a Blackstone 28" Range Top Combo griddle with the two side burners and the deep fryer feature. It is big enough for my son and I. I also have the 17" E-series for when the Colorado weather doesn't cooperate or it is too windy.
Thanks Charles...really great insight...I saw his three cooks on it...interesting when hes uses the dome/hood for cooking when the manual and side shelves say DO NOT use when griddle is hot...
I've always wanted a decent griddle but always thought that the Blackstone was sort of chintzy, and kept me out of the market from buying one. The flat rock looks like its built like a tank, think I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the review.
You might want to check out the new griddle that they have for the new Genesis Genesis 2 Weber grills it covers the full area you can replace the grill grates with this 35 to 40 lb griddle top and I used it for the first time it just came out I would say a month ago and it's freaking phenomenal I have a Genesis 2 335 that I bought back in 2021 before they did the new model and let me tell you you can do 12 pancakes at a time on there and have the access to the top of your grill to be able to do pizza etc etc etc and it only cost $250 and considering this instead of buying another unit you can utilize what you have and basically have a grill a ploncho and so many more accessories I'm not promoting Weber but I find it to be more economical to be able to have one unit to do multiple things something you might want to check out and wish you could take pictures on this but I understand TH-cam
Man! This thing is like the Dark Knight and the price tag is The Joker!! I’ll stick to my Pit Boss 3 burner!! Can’t wait to see you cook on this bad boy though!
As long as you disclose that it was free (you did) and you are honest in your review, there's no issues
Ty....
Thanks Mark...
Hey thanks so much...we really appreciate that.....GBO
Enjoyed our first cook on the Traeger! Because of your advice, it went off with out a hitch. I really feel that the Traeger was the right decision. I ended up doing 8 seasons. The cook was bacon, par boiled red potatoes & eggs. It went off great. The eggs slid off with ease. Can’t wait to get another cook started.
Thanks!!! You are the best
Hey thats so awesome....thanks for the feedback...cheers
Awesome fun!! You have a history of high integrity with clear and concise information which makes my griddle learn experience exciting and enjoyable!! Thanks to you both.
It really is!
I’m just happy you put the stage coach together!😂 no other reviews are doing or are going to do that 👍🏻

I just got mine delivered from my local Ace. It was assembled. I’m excited to season it and start cooking this weekend
Thanks for all your videos
Heck yeah....thanks and good luck
Hey thanks for your service...yeah great way to take some off...so far you right...its had its ups and downs but today was fantastic

how do you like the heat coming up from the grease trap? Are you burning your hands?
I will show in another video..the back is where it escapes...not sure where I read it at but I think it says it uses %26 less fuel...
13. Fold down Shelves

Well I appreciate that Harry....really
Just picked this model up today and I love it, first griddle I have owned.
So many choices out there and without seen this video before buying mine, when I saw this model with comparison to others it caught my eye it looks and feels well built, simple, classy and tough, the size is just perfect…
Good choice Charlie...check out my breakfast cook on this one...really shows heat and cooking details in action
I season a lot of cast iron. I get the best results using an old white t-shirt.
That is 1 good looking griddle & going to try the grapeseed oil the next time I season my griddle and when I get me a 17 inch griddle for our camper

hahahahahah I hear ya....trust me there reach is huge....small potatoes here
I used an old clean terry towel wash cloth when i seasoned my blackstone.
Just got my Flatrock from Ace Hardware. I absolutely love it. Its my first griddle, so I dont’ have a great frame of reference. However, I agree this thing is an absolute beast. Smash Bergers have become the families new favorite grilled food. Love it.
Yes sir....totally agree....right now it definitely my favorite and a very close 2nd is weber
Perfectly said about the differences....thanks Ryan for the support
What's nice about it is that if it's too big for your application just fold down one or both side tables. I being six ft five really like the height on this one and as far as price well you get what you pay for may apply too this flat top griddle. Anxious to see you cook on it especially a humongous breakfast.
wow...yeah you could even cheat a little and raise the bottom up evenly because the screws on the wheels
That thing looks like a beast!! Look forward to you putting it to the test.

hahahahah the box is so great...absolutely best idea so far...thanks Bobbi

Nice review. I just watched Sam the Cooking guys review and he baked a puff pastry with the lid closed. This is the first time I heard you cannot cook with the lid closed. I'm glad you measured the top because some review I watched said the top was 40". Overall it looks pretty solid
I like how they put dividers between the burners.
@@ChrisMasto absolutely no clue. After double checking it’s mentioned 3 different places.

You can definitely see this flat top is ahead of most of the competition in terms of quality. Unfortunately It has a $900 price tag which is $400-$600 more than most other flat tops. The only one that competes in terms of looks is the loco I think
This is hilarious. I've been thinking about ways to surprise you and hiding in a box like this on your doorstep was one.

Great review Neil I love my treager pellet grill makes me want to upgrade my blackstone now
Great family combo for sure

Thanks for that Victor...
I plan to use outside my garage when I want to use it and store in garage when done. Is it bad if I use it in the rain ? I don’t have a deck or porch to protect rain while cooking. I am from the PNW
Now that looks a brilliant bit of kit Neil, very nice indeed, cant wait to see the first cook on it👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎🏴
Yes sir...thanks so much...as a parent its the little things that matter...just a fun way to enjoy it before you throw out
Agreed
I love my Traeger smoker - this griddle looks great. Love the fold down shelves and the tank stores underneath the unit.
PS: buy a cover for it - I did for my smoker and it is worth every penny.
I was given a 22" BS - nice gift but it is too small, even for just the two of us. Not impressed at all.
This griddle is pricey but it is better to invest in a good, large, sturdy griddle than to have to replace every couple of years. With a cover and a little care this will last a long time.
Great insight on this...thanks so much...
Looking forward to see a cook on it. I am liking it so far.
Thanks Gary...I did the first cook yesterday...will post tomorrow
Good review! Love the forthrightness of the evaluations.😊
Thanks so much!
I'm looking to buy my first griddle, I'm trying to decide between this and a Loco 3 burner. Do you have any experience with a Loco griddle? Love your videos
Sorry bud...i do not...
My initial impression matches your’s. Price? Well, that’s always an individual decision. You buy what you can afford and what the perceived or actual return will be. I’m liking what Traeger did here and looking forward to your cooking reviews.
Perfectly said Manny.....
Vietnam and retail im pretty sure is the same around the county dont quote me...899.99
@@TheFlatTopKing , better than China by a little. Healthy price point but with a few tweeks could be the leader. Thanks.
That’s a beauty Neal! Congratulations on the new tank and can’t wait for the first cook! You deserve this opportunity and hopefully more to come! Awesome review! Cheers 🍻
Cant thank you enough....really appreciate that
Hey Neal, I certainly agree it’s a beast BUT….did you mention the “electric” “plug-in” part?
Thanks !
I have been trying to find one after other reviews. Loved the review you two have done here. Great video/Cool griddle!
Thanks...for all the hate seems like they are definitely selling
Suggest cooking some of those famous pancakes on one side, eggs in the center and maybe some hash browns on the other side to demonstrate it can be done without burning any of them
Doin that today..I did the first cook yesterday...will post tomorrow
Buddy two cooks in a defiantly has its flaws but way better today...extremely happy now..I did the first cook yesterday...will post tomorrow..
Thanks for the visual!
No problem!
So far NO/ZERO griddle I have used has been low 300s on low...The Weber is the closest
Moving grease towards you is very common. Maybe not to residential units but in the commercial world its all we have.
A lot og griddles have grease in the front. Camp Chef and many others. So I like that BUT i do no like the location.
Absolutely correct on the food landing in the whole...way to much. Along with the handles on the sides...food is finding its way through those way to much
It does have a rail system that allows for extra storage and utensils things..all sold separately...
Lastly I would rather have the propane tank under the unit like it is ....for true drop side shelves...But it does sacrifice a bottom shelf...but then the side shelves are absolutely massive...
The first two cooks have already been produced and one posted today... it mentions alot of what you are asking about
I really enjoyed this video it looks like it's made in a tank factory. I'm looking forward to the cooking test if it's bad I'll be amazed.
Really better test today...I did the first cook yesterday...will post tomorrow
Front grease drain. Love it. Nice vid!

hhahaha Honestly I ment to say OLE...but you know...

Awesome..posting today and wednesday...
But it looks like you melt butter in it, then roll a little wheel around and you can rub your buns / bread on it to butter them easily, so that looks pretty neat.
yeah thats an accessory..common in the flat top world for alot or restaurants..easy way to butter toast and buns...
@@TheFlatTopKing Okay. Why. You have my attention.

Thanks Kyle...we are uploading our first two cooks...one today and one on Wednesday day...it will give more of an insight as well
Thoughts vs. Camp Chef FTG600 series?
You might want to check out the new griddle that they have for the new Genesis Genesis 2 Weber grills it covers the full area you can replace the grill grates with this 35 to 40 lb griddle top and I used it for the first time it just came out I would say a month ago and it's freaking phenomenal I have a Genesis 2 335 that I bought back in 2021 before they did the new model and let me tell you you can do 12 pancakes at a time on there and have the access to the top of your grill to be able to do pizza etc etc etc and it only cost $250 and considering this instead of buying another unit you can utilize what you have and basically have a grill a ploncho and so many more accessories I'm not promoting Weber but I find it to be more economical to be able to have one unit to do multiple things something you might want to check out and wish you could take pictures on this but I understand TH-cam
thanks Francis.....
Man! This thing is like the Dark Knight and the price tag is The Joker!! I’ll stick to my Pit Boss 3 burner!! Can’t wait to see you cook on this bad boy though!
hahaahh I understand....posted first ocok today...and this Wednesday as well
