Algorithm is amazing. It'll grow on them. Parks knows what's up.
This is his third album. I love Lucky Daye, I’m going to see him in Cincinnati on the 28th. I have to sit with the album for awhile. I had to do the same with Candy Drip. Not sure how I feel about it yet. None of his albums are like the last. He’s always experimenting with his sound. We have to give him the space to do that.
This album though different is just as good as the last few. I’m enjoying his growth in the music industry.

Daye did his thing on this album… rnb / punk fusion was not wat I was expecting. Like Don Toliver mixed Rock into his tape. But Lucky did a great job of combining his true old school rnb essence wit it nd if yu put expectations to the side nd listen to is a great picture he painting. By the time I got to “Pin” I kept putting the songs in repeat 4 or 5 times 🤣 “Think Different” “Blame” and “Algorithm” is the ones been killing my headphone heavy tho. A lil off topic can I get one song (or a couple) wit Lucky Daye nd Giveon 🤷♂️🤷♂️😂🤣

If he’d brought out the same album again the criticism would be there was no growth. Sometimes you can’t win. I like this sound on the new project. Some really nice tunes from an artist with a lot more in his locker.

I went back to to the album again and diamonds in teal felt like an amazing ballad. Think different and breaking uour bank are my favs in regards to vocal and sound. He does something worth while with the instruments and vocals that moves me crazy

First listen I was like eh, 2nd third I was like Ok, by the 4th I was like I’m not turning this off for two-three weeks

After that potent single "that's you" thought this would go another direction. "Breaking the Bank" & "Paralyzed" only other good tracks. Album too experimental for my liking, this was too rock electric & not smooth electric.

Give it time. I really liked the second half of the album at first listen. Some of the songs that I didn’t like at first grew on me as I allowed them to play over and over again in the background.
This album was very good…but it ain’t hit like Candy Drip! Still wasn’t a bad project at all…and tbh Top and Diamonds In Tears got me in my entire BAGG ❤❤❤ I’m going to see him Aug 4 at The Fillmore
Diamond in Teal is a great song and shows his vocal ability. This album has a little bit of everything of him and I love it. Soft, Blame, Mary, Think Different, That’s You are just in heavy rotation for me.
As a Daye One, since ya'll are so concerned about us, the album was flawless, I have no edits. idc that some of ya'll walked this back, and idc that joe "claims" he didn't hear all the songs, which I think is at least partially bs. It's your responsibility to show up to work well researched and well prepared if you gonna have a platform like this critiquing art. And tbh, EVEN IF you started this album at Algorithm it's a fire album. foh.
Didn't watch yall before and for sure will not be tuning in knowing this is the level of care you bring to your consumption of music.

He doesn't really fit any one genre to me, he blends a lot of things. Purist Neosoul fans would probably not put him in that box and neither do I, e s p e c i a l l y after this latest drop.

@fcherry4026 nah, growth cannot be accredited with changing your artistic approach every time, especially when it doesn't work...or give it the 'experimental'album label. In hip hop, it's exactly what Benny the Butcher had happen with his last album. You don't abandon your core base UNLESS it has solid foundation over multiple projects. Nobody stopping you from supporting exclusively off allegiance, but for self, I never bought a pair of sneakers solely because they had a nike or Jordan sign or were popular...I supported it because it was what I liked. Jordan 14 & 18 were atrocious, had every number but once Jordan starting producing lack of look & quality I was accustomed to, I stopped getting them forever. Had Jordan via Nike released those models at like the Jordan 6...it possibly may not be the brand it (was) known as. Now apply to music...

I definitely had to make this album marinate👏🏾👏🏾. I myself was extremely confused when I listened to ‘Algorithm’ from start to finish, with all the electric guitar usage and drums BUT this album isn’t to be shelved🥹. I personally loved it! However, I do miss the heavy R&B element as sometimes alternative genres sound more R&B inspired than a sub-genre🤔🤔 (also I’d hate to say it but after several listens I don’t care for the monologue/soliloquies/interview/prologue segments at the end of a lot of the albums tracks)🫣🫣🥴
guitars. are. black. instruments. let us not forget our history, where and how rhythm and blues originated. Some of us are so used to programmed drums and beats in our music we can forget how to appreciate real live instruments. that is how they sound and it sounds grrrrreat!
