Oh fantastic, I've seen the small stone wrapped so much but couldn't figure out how it was done. So I had to share as soon as I worked it out, things like this we all need to know. A beautiful addition to anything and worth persisting with. Thank you so much ❤🌷🌷🌷
Kelly, what a neat concept for both the donut and the small cabochon. I look forward to trying my hand at both of them. You are amazing to give us your time and efforts in producing and posting all the very informative videos.on your TH-cam channel.
Having just found your channel on TH-cam, I've been enjoying "catching up" by watching your older videos, and every one I have enjoyed immensely and learned so much. Watching this video, I was surprised when, while showing us how to incorporate the smaller stone in the pendant, I caught a view of the bracelet you were wearing,...and its beauty just blew me away! Keep up your great art work! :D
Kelly once again you have given us a wonderful tutorial to learn from. I do love the way that you wrapped that little cab and I will be trying that out, hopefully I will have the patience for it, LOL, patience is not one of my strong points. I really do love how cute they look added to your piece. I also really liked how the crescent piece turned out and how you got it to stay in place it looks lovely. Thanks again for taking your time to make these awesome tutorials for all of us.
It was a rainy day today, so I spent the whole afternoon with you binge watching your videos. I didn’t skip any commercials, hoping you made lots of money off of me today. thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials. I learn so much from you
What an amazing design and tutorial!! Brilliantly crafted and easy to follow. I have so many donuts and not a clue as to what to do with them until now. My only question is, what will happen to the wire if it is not oxidized? 😀🇺🇸♥️
Thank you 💕 You don't have to oxidise, I just think as it naturally darkens over time, with it being oxidised you can polish it up and it's nice, other wise, it's harder to keep it bright and clean looking. But try it, you can always oxidise it later if you want to. 😊
Thank you. It really is worth getting your head around, it took me a while to get it right, you have to be firm with your wires. A great little technique you can use on many pieces, hope it works out for you 🌹🌹🌹
You are right it is fiddly wrapping that tiny stone but I did it!!! I've got loads of hematite donuts so must really give this tut a try, thanks Kelly !
One other question for you - are you wrapping the small stone in 20 g wire? Can you make a simple loop and have it stay? I've always only used 18 g for simple loops. Just wondering your ideas on this.
Thanks for the trapped little stone tutoring. I cut opal and have many small rounds and ovals that I can add to my wraps of many stones. Thanks for your videos!!
Wow, you are such a patient and wonderful teacher, taking time to really demo this tutorial. Love it so much I have ordered donut beads. Where can I purchase the tiny beads you used.
I did, I made a load of them the day before, my fingers were so sore 😅 I did actually get it right first go on the video so I was really pleased with myself 😀hehe. Thank you so much 🌷
I love your work and thank you for continually doing your tutorials. I find it every hard to hear you but I love your accent. Maybe I’m losing my hearing 😉
Aw thank you so much. The earlier videos were a bit quiet, I’m using a better editor now 😅 hopefully the newer vids will be a bit louder. Thanks again ❤️
i love the bird noises in the background! haha great tutorial! Im following this one and making a White Elephant gift for a christmas party this weekend!
This is really beautiful. I have just got the most gorgeous doughnut stone and was trying to do something with it but it keeps slipping. I will definitely try this. Thanks so much.
You ever use the bale design to wrap the stone? 2 wires wrapped closely then bend it to pocket the stone, trailing the ends different ways? With thec2xwires and wrap being thin it allows more light in from the sides to give a less opaque or dull look to the stones.
Thanks for sharing, I have a lot of donuts that I need to do something with. Question? Do you have to use 28 gauge? I have lots of 26, but no 28. Also, I think I will try using a bead instead of cab to see what happens.
@@KellyJJewellery It was great meeting you I am going to watch all your video you must let me know when you are going to do a class. I bet quiet a lot of us in the uk would love to come to a workshop near the canal. The wire work that you do even look better in person Hope to see you on the water soon
This is just the tutorial I was looking for, a very pretty wrap for a donut-shaped focal. I do have a question as to the treatment of the tiny cab on the front. I have arthritis pretty bad, don't have good control over my hands, and was considering the possibility of using a drilled bead of some kind, and attaching it to the front weave--then wrapping it with the larger wire as shown. Is there any reason this wouldn't work? Have tried repeatedly to do these tiny/smaller wraps and cannot manage. Thank you for sharing this pretty, fairly simple design! EDIT: LOL, I should have read through the comments, the question was asked and answered! Thanks again!
Hi Kelly, this is a fabulous tutorial, thank you. I just wanted to ask you: Do you use Non Tarnish pure copper wire or raw pure copper wire? I have just started to use NT but am unsure if it will remain permanently untarnished or if it will gradually tarnish over a longer period of time, in which case there would be no way to bring it back to bright copper. I have only been using the NT for around 2 months and would really value your advice from a longer term perspective. Also, what thickness of wire do you use to wrap the tiny cabochons?
Thank you so much. I always use raw copper because I like to oxidise my work, keeping the piece nice afterwards just takes a quick rub with a silver polishing cloth. I have non tarnish silver, and I find that wears off after a month or so. I also coat some of my work with an everbrite coating, then it doesn't need polishing. (Though I'm not sure how long that lasts) ❤️
Thank you for your videos! Your work is so beautiful, your such an inspiration. Thank you! Can you tell me where do you find all of these beautiful stones?
