These early 90s pwc are the most beautiful jet skis ever made. Their vibrant colors, their flashy design and powerful engine sound. No modern jet ski can compete with their rad style.
I love your channel. I'm impressed with the way you dive headlong into projects and particularly how you don't cuss when things go wrong. Allen wrench down the spark plug hole made me laugh. You should do a video of some of the projects that didn't end up so well.
After riding the XP a few more times I appreciate it more and more. Nobody makes a simple, light ski anymore, just huge barges with engines big enough for a car!
Wait a second! Your wife is learning to ride a motorcycle and she rides a water craft like that? You are not telling us something. She is pro, isn't she. She taught YOU! That is why you did so well. Wow she's good.
She is one GUTSY woman! Not afraid at all, and much smoother on the 180 turns. Of course she's a lot lighter than you. Good job all around. Laughed like hell when you found the allen wrench. That's the luck I always have.
This series was perfect as I just got a free 92 xp, first test start it runs so I am just doing the carb overhual, new seat and steering cable on mine and hopefully lake we go! APPRECIATE THE VIDEOS!
Another thing I've noticed is the excellent production qualities of so- called amateurs. Almost as if they have missed their calling. SV Seeker is the same. Natural actors that didn't have the opportunity before the introduction of TH-cam.Your bride and you have found something special. Great presentations!
Been watching your channel for a while but only just discovered this series. A great way to spend my Sunday evening. Thanks for posting. Best channel on TH-cam. Gazza
Thank you Jennies! I picked up a non running 1995 sea doo gtx and you have really given me the motivation and inspiration to get it running. Thank you!
Great to see the commitment you put in to the project..a lesser man would have walked away. And your wife can really handle that seafood 😉 she's definitely a keeper 👍
I say, my wife would of tongue thrashed me for wasting money on a project she would call "worthless"... Actually, Seafood was very interesting expression on Googles part.lol
This was a good day ! Days like this are what you live for ! Congratulations on your hard work. You seem like a very nice guy and I thoroughly enjoyed these videos. The Sea Doo seems to be working great. I have a 95 myself and your videos will give me confidence to work on it myself ! Thx and hope you and your family enjoy the Sea Doo.
Mendelivium2 B Yeah that day was worth the work. The Mrs. and I both had a lot of fun and I even got to ride around with my 2 year old son. And it was even better knowing that I brought the machine back from the dead, and my youtube friends got to share the journey. Thanks!
Your videos on this rebuild are so well done from the information and how everything works and your showing on camera the parts. Thus is something I hope to do in the future!buy a few of one model and make one that works very well.the satisfaction you must have from doing this is what I’m looking for.thanks for sharing your videos and time and know how with us.I allwas wanted to fish off one after putting one together.
I'm not really sure how to itemize everything. I bought the first two boats with the double trailer for $1000 and then the XP with its trailer for another $480. So now I have a good running boat (1993 XP), junk boat for parts (1994 SPX), future project that needs some moderate work (1997 GTS), A double trailer and a single trailer for a grand total of $1480. I think the XP with its trailer is worth about $1000.
I'm in the process of reviving my 96 xp that has been sitting since 05. My older has pressured me to no end. Rebuit motor and going through carbs today. Should have it done this week. Nice to see a woman ride it like they stole it!
¡¡¡ NOSTALGIA !!! (From Mexico) I was born in Mexico City and by fall 1994 we moved to Cancun (Google it...), I was 8 at the time and just a couple weeks after Mom bought one XP exactly the same as yours. Those were good days and I can tell, as child running that beast at full thorttle (yes she allowed me to run loose with it) was mind blowing not to say the salty spray like needles all over the body.
You know, from all of these, to this it inspired me to do the same (but buy a brand new engine for my current seadoo SPI) and for all the bolts you couldn't get, swivel sockets are a amazing invention. Otherwise, videos are amazing help, and actually amazing just to watch, will be showing all to my classmates at my technical school, thank you so much for the time and dedication+ respect you have for these machines!
Thanks for the great compliment, and for the idea about the swivel sockets. I hope your project goes well, and hopefully your SPI will see some water this summer!
I know I'm late to the party, but just finished the sea doo series. Great series and moving on to another one you made. Great channel and content... addictive.
Congratulations on having success with this project. From looking at the way your wife was riding the jet ski I think that she has done this many times before.
I am watching this 4 1/2 years after your posting of this video. Awesome build man! I have been in possession (2nd owner) of a 1989 sea-doo xp for 20 years, great condition. I originally bought it for $1200, and boy has it paid its price. I find this jet ski's to be the most fun to ride (other than standup of course). The motor that I have in there is stock other than aftermarket intakes, and it surely has gotten a lot slower. I do believe, however (based on the footage) that your jets is much quicker, probably given that one of your previous owners put an entirely new engine in it, that is in fairly new condition. It seems to run pretty tight. I have experienced some struggles of your gutting and replacing, specifically with the carburetors. I ended up taking off the oil pump along with the carburetors off at the SAME time, finding it much easier than just removing the carburetors with your bent wrench. Not sure if you still pay attention to comments on these videos, but I would love to hear back from you to see if it runs, or how well it runs. Also, I was wondering if you made any other cosmetic restorations as well. Thanks!
Man I used to love that ski, I grew up riding one of them, then my uncle got a nicer faster newer version of the same one, and eventually the old green xp got laid to rest.
Ive had that same exhaust problem Learned how to ride with the seat. Half opened for fresh air put the factory clamp on with loctite and your good to go that. Is such a good fun ski its funny. Mine is actually a 94 but exact same machine we always just called it the Green one And its still one of the best ones made for Tight turns. And splashing ! I spent. 2 days. On it going up the Hudson River from Pochepsie to Troy NY it. Was fun but a tiring ride. With all the boat traffic and wake. Jumping
I loved the soap trick, I always struggle to get that connection on well... until it caused your exhaust to fall off. Just as engines don’t run on exhaust, JET PUMPS DONT PUMP SAND AND ROCKS, don’t run in less than 2 ft or so of water. I have a 97 787 Gsx and love the ski.
very helpful, I have a 93 xp and need to clean the carbs, after sitting for 2years, what size open end wrench did you use to remove the bolts? I don't want to strip the nut with a wrong guess. How did your bend it? would a pivot head wrench work? Please help want to get back on the water ASAp
IT was so much fun watching the episodes you did a pretty good job buddy it runs perfectly currently I am busy whit a wave runner whit the same engine as you in it just waiting for the carbon seal to be delivered then adjust the carbs and have some fun whit it
I was almost as happy as you watching you drive it for the first time I’m surprised you didn’t come back to shore to check under the seat to see if there were any problems like cracked oil line or if it was using The correct amount of oil
Thanks! It's a really fun machine. They don't make them small and light like this any more. As for the Ford LTD it isn't stylish or fast, but I think that's why I like it :)
My father inlaws 48 foot boat holds 900 gallons. And fuel at the Mariana is always a lot more. Although his Dingy was like $30,000 and his dingy hoist to the back of the main boat was like $25,000 LOL 'Break out Another Thousand' is what they say in the yacht world.
I never understood the fun of wave runners or jet Skis...sure they are neat and fun for an hour but it's the same water and the same thing over and over again. How many times can you spin it till you are like, okay neat but time to go in? At least my experience with these toys.
Fun series to watch. Well you made funny. Good sense of humor. With your determination I wasn’t surprised it had a happy ending. Though when the exhaust came apart I had a feeling it was the amount of dish soap you doused it with that would come back to haunt you. It did, but you persevered. 👍 Hard work, good work, glad it all worked. Being it’s been 7 years since this video I’m not expecting a response but I wonder how long the fun lasted (months/years). I hope a long time. And wife seemed to be experienced at it. I thought for sure she was going to take a swim on a hard turn but she hung in there👍 I’m about to embark on something similar soon. Wish me luck. Happy Holidays 2019/2020
These early 90s pwc are the most beautiful jet skis ever made. Their vibrant colors, their flashy design and powerful engine sound. No modern jet ski can compete with their rad style.
Yeah but fuel injection
that opening though
LOL
"we have performed a startlingly less than adequate number of safety inspections..."
I had fun watching this. Thumbs up. At least the upper part of your arm will get some colour to. Lol
I love your channel. I'm impressed with the way you dive headlong into projects and particularly how you don't cuss when things go wrong. Allen wrench down the spark plug hole made me laugh. You should do a video of some of the projects that didn't end up so well.

Sea Doo Spark now
Same as my ski doo, bogs on the 360🤣. I love that pos. Got it for so cheap I cant complain, its fun.
Best farmers tan I've seen in a while. Better than my own!!
Wait a second! Your wife is learning to ride a motorcycle and she rides a water craft like that? You are not telling us something. She is pro, isn't she. She taught YOU! That is why you did so well. Wow she's good.
A most enviable result of your painstaking labor & creative solutions.
Seeing jacobs smile @ 6.34 makes it all worth while good job
She is one GUTSY woman! Not afraid at all, and much smoother on the 180 turns. Of course she's a lot lighter than you. Good job all around. Laughed like hell when you found the allen wrench. That's the luck I always have.

Seadoo....not seafood...autocorrect..lol
I say, my wife would of tongue thrashed me for wasting money on a project she would call "worthless"...
Actually, Seafood was very interesting expression on Googles part.lol
I didn't laugh until you pulled out the garage 😂😂😂
officialpatrickj I didn't laugh until the serious farmers tan.
Video made me smile. I had a 94 SPX and it was a lot of fun for cheap!

Great series, and congratulations on saving a ski that would have ended up in the dump.
Watching in 2008. Great channel. Subbed, thumb up and bell clicked.
Awesome videos! Fantastic job getting a classic going again! Thanks for posting.

Great job.....ran across these old vids while fixing a 96xp. One of those green beast was my first doo!
TheWorstItch same
Super enjoyable series. Absolutely excellent

Here in aussie, those arms are what we call a "farmer's tan"!
Watched all 5 vid, tinkering and I gotta say oersavearance at its finest, good work man!! Paid off!! Funtimes!!
Loved your SeaDoo series. Wish you would do another!

I really need to try one of these someday..
Great series, as always. Good job of course.
Just came across the series. Super cool. Really enjoyed watching.
Really enjoyed watching this project, nice work!
Congratulations on having success with this project. From looking at the way your wife was riding the jet ski I think that she has done this many times before.
Success !! The old XP rides the waves again! Awesome video!! Well, I now know what my next project we be! Keep the content coming!!
I am amazed. Great job!

Thanks for the videos
Better than Netflix !!
That thing is a beast. Glad it all worked out.
The misses has some nice moves! Awesome video.
Great job! Very impressive.
Man I used to love that ski, I grew up riding one of them, then my uncle got a nicer faster newer version of the same one, and eventually the old green xp got laid to rest.
Your project makes me want to start one just like that haha
Ive had that same exhaust problem Learned how to ride with the seat. Half opened for fresh air put the factory clamp on with loctite and your good to go that. Is such a good fun ski its funny. Looks like you found hers now where is yours? good job
Boy that looks like fun!
Had to laugh that you spent the time to explain and show the rats nest, but didnt just grab it and pickit out .. lol
Awesome series, great work!!
Jennies Garage, you're simply a genius. Aaaamaazing!
Great job on all your videos and lots of fun to watch. Take care now.
haha my seadoo sp had also the same problem with the exhaust i did a 180 and the engine noise was louder and smoke came out
GL gaming/team vered my 92 sp it revs up when u crank it
Great video. Well done. That looks like it runs great.
Soap wil always be soap. Hairspray is better as it's slippy when wet and sticky when dry.
look at that farmers tan man. that is soo funny

I always get a smile on my face when i watch youre vidos , you are fun❤❤

Gotta give it to him, he had a dream and he made it happen!!!
Legend of the seas
Financially maybe not, especially considering the hours spent. But it's something I enjoy :)
Man that looks fun reminds me of my ski doo snowmobile
Those are fun too. Your sled and my ski are even made by the same company.
You've got talent. Nice job.
It's personal bahaha!! Great work!!!
lmao that intro scene was gold
Nice work! that thing is sick
Thanks! It's a really fun machine. They don't make them small and light like this any more.
As for the Ford LTD it isn't stylish or fast, but I think that's why I like it :)
I think you need another one now. lol Shes not afraid of it.
Any more future Seadoo projects? I just found this series and binged watched way too fast. Nice work!
I don't have anything at the moment, but who knows, I might find a good deal on something over the winter.
Mark DeHoog I
His tan line though😂😂😂
Farmers tan is perfect
great story and videos
thanks for checking out the videos, glad you enjoyed them
Holy crap, jenny really went in on the jetski!
Loved the vid series! Funny and clever and a great example of ad-hoc wrenching and mechanical intuition! Where is the ski now, 5 years later?
It's got to be worth at least $300 and 2000 man hours of work. Well done! At least it didn't lead to a divorce!
Good job ! Inspiring.
happy wife / happy life . get some sun on that farmers tan lol
Jennifer rides like a pro :)
Awesome perseverance. Much respect. I wonder if repairing the old hull is also a good path, or is that too ugly?
seadoos look very fun but damm they are thirsty on gas and gas is expensive in canada
You really should have a look at how much boats need.. it's ridiculous. Especially higher powered ones.
That seadoo rips enjoyed ur vid very interesting
Thank you!
Great Job, you almost made it look easy.
I loved these videos thanks ! Need to try his out!
Glad you liked the videos!

awesome channel and i love watching your rebuilds,my girlfriend and I have a travel channel
Congrats on the hard fought victory...
Now how much did you have into this project and I would adapt it so you could pull a skier as well. Didi you find any leaks?
so what ever happened to the ski? did it blow up, sell it?
Thanks! It's a fun little ride.
Jennies Garage I know this videos extremely old but did you ever get it titled how to get something titled like that?
they sold it
Nice project dude!!!
would you happen to have and extra storage compartment for sale ?
I never understood the fun of wave runners or jet Skis...sure they are neat and fun for an hour but it's the same water and the same thing over and over again. How many times can you spin it till you are like, okay neat but time to go in? At least my experience with these toys.
Look at that farmers tan lol
So how much did all the pieces cost, and what's it worth now?
Fun series to watch. Well you made funny. Good sense of humor. With your determination I wasn’t surprised it had a happy ending.
