Hello. Glad everyone is enjoying the review. If you're new here it'd be appreciated and helpful if you'd subscribe to the channel, share the vid or even give it a like. Thanks... Dan (Moonshine)
"Menschenmühle" is translated as "mill of humans" (not human mule), as in not grain is milled but humans. Analogy in English being a meat grinder (as depicted on the album cover). The band caught my attention, when they played at a festival in a bike rides distance to my house (which unluckily I couldn't go to due to my working schedule). Anyway, on the festival's website I saw the picture of the band wearing masks and uniforms, which repulsed me initially, as I thought they were glorifying war (which they definitely don't!). Nonetheless, I was intrigued, so I sought out a couple of their songs and ever since I was simply hooked. Can't wait to see them live!!!
Awesome. Thanks for the correct translation. That makes sense all things considered. I hope you have fun once you do see them. They're getting some steam behind 'em. Thanx for watching \m/
@@HillbillyHellrazor I tried getting tickets for their concert in Oberhausen, which is not too far from my hometown. But I was too late. Anyway, I'll keep on trying... 🤘
Greetings from Germany. The cool thing about that guy is he worked very closely with an historian and all the lyrics are real happenings from letters by soldiers from the First World War. I have to really wonder that such a band has such success in Germany at the moment as anything that could be called nazi or nationalistic would be cancelled and looked at as they were neo Nazis. But somehow they seem to make it. Even Rammstein we had the discussion here if they were neo Nazis. So you can imagine what’s going on here. Maybe Kanonenfieber is still to small as a band but the discussion will come ;)
Right on. Yeah, I neglected to mention that point about the documents, letters and such. I didn't know Noise researched with a historian. It is unfortunate that certain hot button topics are incapable of being discussed without motives being assigned or language thrown about frivolously. But that's how some are nowadays. I enjoy Noise's work so I hope that's not the case. I hope I didn't butcher your language too heavily. Thanx for watching the review \m/ \m/
German is not easy to pronounce especially with the ä ü ö 😂. But Kanonenfieber was spot on :) Yeah I think the historian was a student friend of Noise or something and he did had a lot of old never seen before letters from different soldiers and spun stories and even whole sentences around these letters from soldiers to their families in World War One. Absolutely interesting band and well done with their songwriting abilities and lyrics. Can just recommend to try to translate them but a lot of it is older German words too that might be not very well translated with google. Greetings from Bavaria
@@weisswurstfruhstuck8523 Thanx man, hahaha. To watch me at home trying to sing the songs was like watching Frank Drebin sing the National Anthem in the Naked Gun. Quite the scene, hahaha. I'll definitely work on the lyrical translation when I've time. You all are represented well this year with new albums. Any other bands I ought to check out?
@@HillbillyHellrazor hehehe. Im not so much into the scene anymore. You can check out my old band on TH-cam Jenny Hooker. Songs: caffeine Kids, Guinea Pig, my band sucks and especially Bitch live version wasn’t too bad live in Munich. Let me know if you liked it. More of a stoner metal hardrock thing with a twist. Now I’m retired from the business. Music business in Germany is really dead.
@@weisswurstfruhstuck8523 It wasn't bad. Kinda in that grey area b/n stoner & grunge. The videos were neat. I was worried where the guinea pig might be going and then whether the chair was gonna be used for the auto-erotic choking gimmick. Your drummer was pretty hard drivin'
5/5 I better check this out but last time I looked for the cd it was a stupid price so I usually wait until century media stuff comes down in price. Hope Helene doesn't cause too much trouble for you and the Miner's as I see it's going to go straight over Anthony 😬
It's really good bro. I was listening to it again today while driving around to prep for this storm. My how the turns have tabled. You're across the pond so where I've been facing challenges getting physical copies of Noise's bands this one being on Century Media will be more accessible to me and a challenge for you. Go figure. Thanx man. As of writing this I'm fine. It's mostly missed me. We texted earlier tonight but Anthony & I will touch base tomorrow. Cheers Simon \m/
