    A lot of people complaining in the comments. I think it looked awesome. Watching this video is gonna help me install a separate grille I bought off Amazon. Great tips.

    A LAT OF WORK HOURS PROJECT!
    I made my own mesh grill rivet for a 1st gen Tacoma, 1st I remove the grill and cut the center part, then Draw TOYOTA letters, cut them out of 16 gauge, sand them, paint them. then I draw the frame for the rivets and cut it out of same steel, and did the 42 holes for the rivets, then I sand it and paint it. after all that I couldn't find the rivets anywhere, so I made my own using flange bolts, I cover dem with clear coat. I cut out the mesh part and installed all my rivet/bolts around holding the mesh at the same time, then I put the letters, secured them with plastic ties and glued using a product named goop. then I did the 3 amber raptor lights installation and at the following day I put the new mesh grill back to its place, and put the whole part back to my truck installing the wiring to the side marker lights. around 40 or 45 hrs labor. and around 100 bucks on material. will cost 775.00 make it and also the installation. ( I know, who will pay that?)I forget to mention that I painted the chrome and installed the mesh on the little triangles as well. and now if I do another one I think I can do it in less time since I have the templates for the steel and mesh cuttings, and the idea how to make the rivets out of bolts witch is better then those plastic ones .

    When I epoxy the drywall anchors and put the screws in, it breaks off since the anchor wants to expand. Any suggestions? Also what adhesive did you use for the corners?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      We had the small grey anchors break the same way you described. So we only used the white ones that do not expand. Also, be sure to let the epoxy cure.

    I am wanting to do this to my 2006 limited 4runner. Looks like grill is about identical to another. I was curious if the mesh and letters would fit my grill fine from Bullet Proof Fabricating? I really like the way the mesh looks.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +trent allen That grill looks like it might be just a little smaller, you would have to trim the mesh down more than I did. The letters should fit fine. That would look cool on the 4runner!

    How come BP fabricating's guide has the mesh flush with the outer edge of the grill? Their guide seems much simpler than the process you went through. Did you see it?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed

      a junkyard grille might be 50 dollars, not a brand new one!

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +happy543210 a whopping $84 for chrome. Either way, it didnt hurt the value at all. www.stylintrucks.com/parts/replacement_direct_fit_grille_shell_and_insert_assembly/repgr38548/replacementt070139-.aspx?scid=gglpla&gclid=CIiSlJSt9ssCFdgJgQod8_wIeA

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +happy543210 How do you get that number? Two screws, two tabs, and you pull the grill out to pop the new one in. It takes less than 5 minuets. And again, based on our experience selling this truck, it made them want the truck even more.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm. That is the best way we came up with and let them dry for a good amount of time. A few did break off, but more glue and some weight on top for drying helped. You could try to use caulk, use clear and see if that will bond it. Hope this helps.
