Important note. There were no calibration issues with this radio. I simply read the frequency display incorrectly! Similar to the Elecraft KX1 the display shows you the end of the frequency, not the entire frequency.
It looks like it has a capacitive key (CapKey) (Acorn Nuts) built in. I've had Adam K6ARK mod several QRP rigs. They work great! It makes the kit that much smaller... Just add a K6ARK EFλ/2, and velcro that TalentCell to it! That and some earbuds. I love the Rx, Steve Weber is genius. A simple, yet robust kit. Thanks for the video. 72 de W7UDT ID (dit dit)
Great remarks! The little touch paddles are amazing. I am tempted to attach a battery directly on a rig this small and lightweight, like you mentioned. 73
I appreciate how you don’t let lack of knowledge or skill with the new radio stop you from posting the activity on TH-cam. Honestly, that takes some cajones!
I knew my rig was getting delivered today so I went to the website and couldn’t find the manual. I thought one would arrive with the radio. Then saw in the unboxing that the manual was available online. I made the mistake of thinking since I have operated the MTR4B numerous times I’d be able to navigate the 3B. I was wrong!
I like the idea of these Mountain Toppers if I was actually climbing a mountain - but after using rigs like the Venus SW-3B, Elecraft KH1, and the like, nothing beats the KX2. All self contained speaker/tuner/battery and 10 watts. The other rigs have just too many wires and other things to forget when out in the field. I buy all these other radios and then just gravitate back to my KX2. Thanks for the video.
I received my KX2 from Elecraft a few months ago. It took very little time for me to determine it is the premier QRP field rig. I’m likely going to do a top 5 QRP radios for the field (POTA/SOTA) video/blog here soon. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! I managed to snag one too. They sent out an email yesterday and they sold out in 4 minutes I guess. My order hasn't processed yet. Looking forward to playing with it -- 73 Ben KF0KDI
I’m already a massive fan of this rig. The size and weight is phenomenal. The pressure paddles are great. I printed the manual as soon as I got home and I’m well on my way now 😂. Catch you soon, Ben!
Best activation of all time. My personally favorite line was at 39:00: th-cam.com/video/39vX7zV9Qeo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RmkA-RhK3ecKMTpO&t=2341 "Trying to Squeeze Key on my new rig. Somebody out there is saying is that guy okay?" hahaha.
I think I sent well enough on the M7 paddles I could justify publishing some horrible code on the pressure paddles. 😂 but I can’t emphasize enough my fingers were icicles at that point! 🥶 73 om

Waiting for mine!
Nice! I'm hoping mine ships soon. I ordered pretty early in the four minute and fifty one second order window 🤣
I’ve had a few people want to compare order numbers. Turns out I had a pretty fast draw! (Thanks PayPal!)
I think the floating MTR is cool.
Helps with propagation
Recieves delivery notification of radio. Already activating. LOL
Always awesome working you my friend!!

That was super cool 73 Paul KE9BHN
The 2 "knobs" "bolt heads" on the side, is that a touch key?
Yes and it’s fantastic
If you ever said "Let's try a new rig with a complex menu, no manual. What could go wrong?" Well, here's your answer. 😂 --n1bs
@@n1bsbri hey 13 QSOs in 25 minutes and park activated. But I am waiting for an email from the FCC 😂
I'm pretty sure you were on 21.021050 I think it omits the 21/14/7 on the display.
That’s exactly where I was.
I thought the wife grounded you to the house 😂

Honestly, you lost me as a viewer at the 4:42 mark. Wow….
If that lost you, you haven’t been watching my channel long. 😂
