@@sc12194 what? how does the word "buffet" relate to: she gave a wonderful review for so much GOOD food"? She's quite honest and good food is not always the case.. I guess I'm confused by your reply?
I’m not trying to discredit Ruby or yourself but when you commented that a disclaimer should be put in the videos not to watch while hungry you should already know by her going to a buffet there’s gonna be food involved and in my opinion a disclaimer is kinda irrelevant. I apologize if I offended you.
The main attraction here is the prime rib. Everything here was closer to institution type foods or over cooked. Most people went for the hibachi grill or the carving station. We stayed here for 10 nights and I frequented the buffet often for the value. Love your videos, so keep them coming.
When I stayed at South Point I was really impressed with the room. Didn't try the buffet, but there was a great Japanese restaurant which was reasonable too.
We did the South Point buffet on our early October trip based off of this review and it was really fantastic! We were there mid-week so just the regular breakfast buffet, but for the minimal cost and proximity to our south strip hotel, this was a great choice!
Stayed at South Point about 5 years ago and the food options are awesome. I previously stayed at Venetian and after stayed at Aria and The Hotel. Liked all of these but South Point was the best for food
My favorite thing about South Point - they know their customer. Totally unpretentious, caters to the low-to-mid-roller clientele, and does it to perfection. In contrast, look at someplace like Excalibur, who USED to know that their customer was not the same people that patronize a place like MGM Grand, or anything remotely "upscale".. yet nowadays, a domestic beer is $11 at Excal. Some MBA moron apparently thinks this is smart. Guess what - it's not. You've lost your customers to places like South Point. And they're happy to take them and treat them well.
You beginning instrumentals are from a song called "Black Sand" by a hawaiian group called Kalapana. It's one of my favorite songs. I'm from Hawaii and that group is and amazing group I grew up listening too.. its kinda funny that song is on here because us locals call Las Vegas "the 9th island" because it's a go to for Hawaiians going on vacation. In fact I'll be there next week so I've been binge watching your videos since it will be my First time!! I'm hoping for some beginners luck.. lol
Southpoint is my local casino. Done the dinner buffet a couple of times and really didn't care for most of it. But, we're big breakfast people and I haven't done that one yet. I'm a food blogger and I really love your honesty and feel you have a good palate.
Another great review Ruby! Your facial expressions and body language are priceless when you like the food! I had no idea South Point had such a good buffet! And your suggestions on how to best enjoy it are very helpful! Thanks again Ruby and Mr. Ruby!
We usually stay around the strip or downtown but visited Southpoint for the first time a couple days ago on our family Vegas trip and we were really impressed with this casino. Fun vibe/atmosphere, lots of people, nice places to eat and it was a mixture of locals and tourist. We ate at the oyster bar here, it's very comparable to the famous oyster bar at Palace Station without the wait. We will try the buffet next time, very affordable and looks very yummy.
We had the South Point Garden Buffet a few years back during week day lunch time and weren't impressed. But after seeing this, we will give their weekend brunch a 2nd chance.
Eaten at SP buffet many times. It can get crowded, long lines, but worth the wait. SP rooms terrific too. All good for a mid level (not high end!) vacationer like me and my buddies. EZ parking, too. You can sign up for players card on line, pick it up in person.
I agree with the South Point Ruby. I think it's the best deal in town right now as far as my travels have taken me. I'm from Goldfield, so I get down there as much as I can.
Hi Travel Ruby and Mr. Ruby..., Last December..., I stayed at the South Point for the Las Vegas National Finals Rodeo (NFR), and the buffet was closed. South Point has large stables, water, feed, and an arena for our horses. Excellent stables for our horses and border collie sheep/cattle dogs and excellent security guards that understand animals... * The one-quarter way through this excellent video..., I had to go to the refrigerator for snacks. The one-half way through the video..., I had to go to the refrigerator for additional snacks. Three quarters way through the video..., I had to go to the refrigerator for FOOD ! ! And on my "grocery list"..., cheesecake, ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and maybe a little Rum on top. * * Travel Ruby and Mr. Ruby..., you two made me very hungry... LOL Excellent video and very informative, and thank you for sharing... * Great price $ of buffet..., excuse me ( brunch ) or early lunch or late breakfast or combination of both... Excellent video, and thank you for sharing... Mike in Montana :)
They used to serve beef ribs even at lunch during rodeo months but they stopped that years ago. When they did that we'd go there almost everyday and the only thing I would eat are beef ribs, brisket, rice and dessert. I wish they'd bring back beef ribs even if during dinner only. I miss my all you can eat beef ribs.😒
Did breakfast there with my son last week ($23.73 w/card) and lunch twice ($32.35 w/card), it is now my family's favorite buffet whenever we're in Vegas (from Hawaii). First thing you will notice when you enter is the cleanliness of the casino (carpet looks new every time) and how the machines are placed in just about the right distance from each with lighting in perfect volume. Oh, the food..yup, best deal in town; quick tip - if you have a hangover, try their menudo..it'll make it go away//
It's nice that made-to-order food is available. I've never been to South Point. A must-try when I visit Vegas this year. Pretentious dining rooms are stressful. Just let me eat in peace and don't judge my eating preference LOL
I first went here when it reopened and thought the service was pretty bad (when staff served) they ignored guests and had some walk away from stations entirely so i didnt get to try alot. Might go back now that it's self serve.
My friend and I stayed at south point and we saved so much money eating at the restaurants there. The Cafe has a graveyard menu and I think it was like $10 the most for a full breakfast
It's the only Vegas buffet I have tried (daughter lives there now, this is easy for them to get to.) Nice to know we didn't miss out. (Not getting to one of the more lavish buffets?)
The Mongolian Grill looked deliciouso! The prime rib looked awesome too. Potatoes and beans aren't my fillers, but I love corn and rice! It's hard to find great Boston Cream Pie! I would have downed way more mimosas than that! Great prices and great video!
During the week lunch at 32$ total for 2 with players card is awesome. I agree carving station is outstanding..Love the turkey & mashed , along with those fried butterfly shrimp . Coffee is amazing smooth . The strip buffet prices are out of control now and for what I eat and what you get not worth spending 65 -100 and up for 2 .. thanks Ruby for another awesome critique ☺️
I've been curious about South Point for a while now and your videos have definitely swayed my opinion. I will run this by the fam as an option for our next trip.
I love going to places off strip and away from Fremont. They usually have really good deals and prices because their trying to compete with the hype of the main areas. The Suncoast is in the Summerlin area and it is a really nice place.
Awesome place was there in 2019. Awesome dinner buffet. It had everything imaginable on it. From oysters on the half shell to prime rib to tacos to Chinese food. You name it they had it. Very reasonable price and it came with a complementary bottle of champagne. Great place to stay also. Players card is the key to cheaper price
The food looked great! I love how you compose a plate with all the food being simpatico. Every time I see you on TH-cam I say to myself “cobraduck” from one of your live feeds.
Good video and good channel, you guys are doing a good job! As I said in another comment, it takes a lot for me to give so much praise. I'm a 30 year old white dude living in Cincinnati (Go Bengals!) for demographic reference. Been to Vegas many times as a kid and adult. I love the Vegas vibe and style. I get it. Anyone who doesn't like it just doesn't get it. Keep making videos and I know 100% you guys are going to make it big time!
Congratulations Ruby on the 100K mark with subscribers and interesting take on the buffet and providing us a look. I have to say though, that wasn't Mexican food you ate and that taco looked something from a Ortega taco kit you buy at the store make at home with cheap ground beef. Lol!
We always stay at South Pointe. So glad to see your review. Zenshin is also a really good restaurant. Excellent Happy Hour. Keep up the good reviews. ✌🏾❤️🙏🏽
Yeah the pie is lovely. How can it not be lovely? But I'd like to know if a big buffet like this makes the pie with all natural ingredients, or is it made somewhere and loaded with chemical additives and shipped to the buffet.
American's use their cutlery SO different from us Aussie's. We use our knife and fork constantly - not this cut it up then change hands for solo fork in other hand. I will say Ruby you use your cutlery better than Jaycation does! Hahahaha
Went to Southpoint for the first time 2 years ago and it’s the only place I stay and gamble in Las Vegas now. Their Saturday 6pm poker tournament is the best for the buy in… oh and you have to get hotdogs at the hotdog kart by the sports book, they are to die for…
For the price your paying, it wasn’t that great and not worth $28 dinner. If you just want Prime Rib dinner, you better off going for $8.99 @ Fremont in downtown.
Thanks for the tip about their buffet. I’ve only eaten at the steak restaurant and it was pretty good. I hear the prime rib restaurant is about as good as Lawry’s. Congrats on reaching 100k subscribers!
loved the buffet . When I stayed they give you a coupon book and they had 2 half off coupons in there. Everything was so good. I had was the carving station they had roast beef , pork roast, brisket. All excellent. The stand for me was the ratatouille it was so good. I had to get another plate. They even had steaks and more meats brought out too and this was only lunch. There was so many other things we tried and no complaints. Great staff as well. You should try the mexican place I never got to eat there they have lunch specials and drink specials my local friends love the place. the cafe is so good best burgers and graveyard specials.
I have ate there a few times and I think it is pretty good especially for money. The only thing is the dinner is really crowded and super loud. I wonder if they could do some noise dampening stuff. I really miss the Silverton buffet I ate there a lot and I thought it was even better for the money.
Places like that are cheep because they don’t pay the staff much , compared too the high end Casinos 🎰, so if they are friendly and look after you and it seems they take pride producing a great tasty buffet ….TIP THEM 👌👌👌👌 They deserve a friendly smile back and a few bucks in their pocket , great job South Point Casino , nice review too Madame Ruby ❤️

RUBY! You need to put a disclaimer on your videos which is: "do not watch while hungry"!! Thanks so much for your DETAILED review. :)
Was thinking exactly the same thing Laurel 😂😂😂
The disclaimer is in the title “buffet”

The high prices on the strip are what make all the off strip casinos successful! Santa Fe and Alliante are really good too!
It's too bad Studio B Buffet at M Resort closed down. They cater to the similar clientele.

A HUGE pet peeve is any place that serves drinks in a plastic cup unless it's to go. It gives it a frat party vibe. Just use a glass.
I strongly recommend the pork ribs at the carving station. You can also grab a steak knife here for your prime rib.

Love the South Point. After seeing your video we are going to make a stop there next month and have the buffet. Thanks 🥶❤️❄️
Always wanted to visit Vegas maybe in the next year thanks for all the videos !also are there any discounts for seniors? Rooms, food, etc.
South Point is good for Las Vegas. Affordable food and one of the best gourmet restaurants I have ever dinned at Michaels Gourmet Room.
Ruby your reviews are the best. Hope to run into you on our next vegas trip. Just wanted to say eh from 🇨🇦 🇨🇦
Are the mimosa's premixed? Can you get straight champagne?
u had me at the servers bringing another mimosa
That's the healthier way to do buffets, just a little bit of everything. Great job!
Seriously, I say pile it high and dig in , you never know when it will be your last meal 😂😂😂
Every restaurant at South Point is really good solid food. Can't go wrong. Great place to stay.
$13 for all of that isn't bad at all..the Chinese buffet alone here is almost that!
The Mongolian BBQ is awesome. Much better than most of the prepared dishes. Go with that and add some fried or steamed rice.
Dang. I am so hungry now! Mongolian beef freshly made is my FAV!

Congrats on the 100K mark, Ruby!
This is much better than the other brunches that cost $25 or more
Didn’t know buffets still available. Great info. Thx&see ya😁
If two people go to the buffet, will both need a players card for the discount? Do kids get a discount with parents player card?
Have you been to Primarily Prime Rib at the South Point? So much for a reasonable price. Great food.

thanks for this one too...gonna try it Sunday Morning...Yay
