I don’t know if it’s worth skipping first album or not , it’s very very heavy with harsh vocals , but doesn’t have as many bangers as waking the fallen in my opinion , still a good album
The guitarists actually backup sing for the band and the drummer at the time REV had amazing screaming vocals in many songs and him and Matthew shadows going back and forth with their screamo vocals and singing is insane!
This is a great song! I've heard it before, and it's one of the songs I like the best from Avenged Sevenfold. This was a good reminder to put it in my playlist!

Whoever said to start with Waking The Fallen is fucking nuts. Listen to the first three songs on Sounding The Seventh Trumpet. The rawness and arrangements are some of the best. The Rev recorded all the drum parts in one take.
Even if you like the music of the 1st album more which is totally fine, WTF still was a huge step forward in terms of production, song writing and sound quality^^
waking the fallen = greatest metalcore album ever by far

I think it's fair to start with WtF and then go back to StST.
WtF is a legendary album while StST is just a great album imo.

Better? Absolutely not. But it's still an amazing metalcore album.
The choruses on this album were epic
