In battle royale, the stronger members can back up their weaker teammates and everyone can look for openings to take advantage of, making at the least a much closer contest. Allura is screwed no matter what, and Kimberly is if she faces off against anyone but Allura in a one-on-one.

Even when you make a prediction before hand and think "yeah, this guy's totally gonna win", the fight can make your opinion sway as it makes you remember certain feats that may turn the tide. The fact that he has to make it in three weeks kinda makes it seem a little sloppy though, at least for me.
StickMaster500 Jack wins. Remember, Jack goes against demons and non-humand, but not only that, remember that growing up Jack has studied and mastered every martial art known to man.
This came out 4 years ago and it might STILL be my favorite episode of the whole series I've grown up watching Death Battle, and it's nice to know that a piece of my childhood is still intact to this day. The series has evolved so much, but I'll always find myself coming back to some of the older ones. As I'm typing this we're currently waiting for episode 150, and man it feels weird to say that after being with this show for so long. Here's to many more years of one of the classic gems of the internet.

You know there was always something I found weird about Power Rangers. They each had their own Zord but only used them as individual units on extremely rare occasions. More often than not they simply transformed into the Megazord. Voltron on the other hand used the cats often as singular pieces and then transformed when things got rough. That was a benefit of jettisoning limbs. Although the leg was removed that didn’t mean the leg couldn’t reattach or work as an independent unit, while Voltron staggered on. This is why the Green cat was able to retrieve the sword. Knowing that Voltron found not using all of its proven capabilities, shows how tough Voltron is.
From what I understand with the exception of the Tyrannosaurus Zord the individual Zords Have very limited combat abilities, at most they would only be able to give the Tyrannosaurus backup against a single foe.
Honestly when I was younger and used to watch that stuff I loved it more when they use the zords singular rather than transformed it just looked cooler to me for some reason
I'm sure if Power Rangers were animated then that would happen a lot more. I'd assume its hard to do all that with those models, you already see how fake they look coming out

I just noticed something: the "dinosaurs" they were looking for, was probably charizard and wargreymon, since that fight took place in the same area. Meaning, that all death battles take place in different areas, but in the same universe.
Well after rewatching that video, I've come to the conclusion that that act was what created this interuniversal reality in the first place. you can see scenes of many prior death battles flashing by right before both Segata and Chuck sing into it.
ask any dark souls player which is more dangerous small and fast or big and powerful. so even if the Rangers would have had a strength advantage(which they do not) because of its size, voltrons speed and maneuverability would still make it the more dangerous of the two
0_0 Was anyone else freaked out by sudden MatPat voice?! And Ace vs Natsu? I'd have to say Natsu would win, simply because he can eat Ace's flames to regain energy and somewhat heal. They're both impervious to flames, so it would come down to physical ability, which I think Natsu's magic moves would give him the edge. Ace didn't have Haki after all, did he?

+Noah Lillis Terry also has superhuman strength while wearing the suit, maybe not 20 tons but possibly ten. He's knocked down and held up big walls, bent steel bars with his hands, definitely much stronger than even Batman in his prime. Also only 20 tons? Cant Peter do like 40?
In times of extreme stress he's pulled closer to 80, but miguel isn't on the exact same tier as peter. However in the battle of second string spin off characters he's far superior. His tech makes Terry's look primitive. Like when superior spider man tried slashing his suit and it did nothing. The problem with Terry is that he's not better than batman. He's a brash kid with Bruce in his ear. He has zero of the mental or physical training Bruce spent the majority of his life perfecting. The suit is all he's got and in the end to beat a high end street level metahuman like any of the spidermen you have to be a lot more than half their strength
Quartz Apatre That's a never-ending question other than that I say no becuse one later on in life after when this became popular despite the cancellation. In 2011 Batman Beyond had more upgrades in the Batman Beyond comics and his huge flaw overrelying on the suits technology is not a weakness anymore cuz he had more training and education with Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordan, and many more fair warning if he has the Lord Batman Armor it's game over for Spider-Man 2099 even if Spider-Man 2099 fangs gets into his body his nano blood cells can help him fight off poison and many dangerous materials. Not to mention Batman Beyond's flash bang Granades are no ordinary Granades they are strong enough to blind you even with sun visor like The British SAS gas mask visor can protect them from getting blind or stun. 2099 Fighting style is predictable. There you have so Batman Beyond wins. 9/10
The music, the effects, voice acting, choreography, everything about the battle is absolutely stellar. Eeeeeasily in the top 10 of any Death Battle to date

Azula (Avatar the Last Airbender) vs Roy Mustang (Full Metal Alchemist). Both are strategists, manipulation artists, and creative in fighting. Roy has an advantage of manipulating oxygen to make explosions. Azula has the advantage to shoot lightning. Who wins?
Zuko lacks some of Azula's fierceness and raw power, as well as lacking lightning bending, unless he mastered that after the main series. Not to mention they had a proper fight at the end of the series and Zuko lost. Zuko does have some qualities that Azula doesn't have, but I don't think they'd help in a fight against Roy, as opposed to Azula's brutal fierceness, power, cunning and lightning bending.
Cobalt, I agree with the fighting experience. He's an expert strategist and has more than Azula. I still think Azula wins. Here's why: 1. Azula's ability to manipulate people after only a few moments of exposure to them is uncanny. She is able to play to their weaknesses easily. It wouldn't be long before she found Roy's weakness: his gloves. 2. DeathBattle pits characters when they are at their best. The argument that Azula wasn't right in the head at the end of the season wouldn't play into the rules here. Unless, Roy found a way to exploit that somehow. 3. Lightning. It's faster than his explosions. It just is. 4. While Roy manipulates the oxygen to explode, Azula can't control it. But as soon as combustion starts, she can indeed control it. She's fast enough to dodge it I believe. Other thoughts: Iroh may be an excellent candidate against Roy. Opinions?

And yes, his explosions are definitely portrayed as near instant. To support your argument, even Azula has to have a moment to "charge up" her lightning. This would be a surprise to Roy only once, and then he would see it coming any time after. As a firebender, I don't think she would be as injured by his explosions as much as another person. Darknight, you raise an excellent point that Roy isn't limited to just flame alchemy as well. THESE arguments are why I think it would be an excellent fight! As for zuko vs Roy: no contest zuko loses. Sorry, he's not a great strategist, or forward thinker. Back to Azula: in addition to her hand to hand combat, she has also a range of acrobatic skill to beat the kyoshi warriors - who are specifically trained against firebenders. I would give her the edge in combat skill. We don't see Roy using that part of his training much anyway.

Neither of their fire atks will work on each other, it's just gonna come down to hand to hand. Oh and lightning atks probably won't work either since lightning is just a form of plasma which is close to fire, using real world logic anyways
why not a 4-way battle? each of them (doctor who, doctor strange, doctor fate, and doc brown) have a huge fight? Actually that might be too much of a cluster. But still definitely doctor strange.

When I first watched this, I wanted the Megazord to win. After watching Voltron: Legendary Defender, Voltron leaped right over Power Rangers in my heart and flung them out of there. I’m with Voltron all the way now after watching it. I wanted Power Rangers to win at first because by that time, I haven’t see Voltron yet. After seeing Voltron, I realized how much better it is.
Don't worry; there's no way the Power Rangers were actually killed. Obviously the Voltron bad guys teamed up with the Power Rangers bad guys to trick the Power Rangers into fighting Voltron. So the Voltron team (or whatever they're called) were told there were dinosaurs on the planet the fight took place, while the Power Rangers were told there was an evil robot there. The two groups show up, and the fight ensues. Of course, after the fight the Voltron team are gonna ask the Power Rangers who they are, why they attacked, etc. The misunderstanding will get cleared up and the two teams will work together to defeat the bad guys in the big finale. Then they all get drinks at the juice bar.
like alumina said the moment the power rangers called on the sword(their ultimate weapon) was the moment it was decided they lost because Voltron still had many more weapons and they didn't rely on their sword to ensure victory.

Yeah I don't think it would've changed the outcome either. Even if they didn't equate travel speed to combat speed, Voltron was far more durable and would've still won in the long run.
Yeah the Megazord they where using didnt have as much power or as many upgrades as later zords used. I mean they had Titanus they could have called, but thats more heavy firepower.
They do it when convenient. Like how Cloud's feat of being faster than bullets (movie Advent Children) was essentially ignored and somehow Link was faster despite not being able to outrun arrows. I watch them mostly for the info and the entertaining animations, but they are clearly biased in some fights. Like how recently a Logia user from One Piece was defeated despite Logia users only being able to be hit by their elemental weakness, Haki or seastone and his opponent had none. In fact, neither had a way of defeating the other if you take their canon abilities. The statement of a Logia's invulnerability was also never brought up.
What's funny is that they didn't even use the new Netflix Voltron which is arguably even stronger since each lion has their own original abilities. Good battle, great results.
! I've figured it out! Zordon picked teenagers because they're physically mostly mature, but still mentally and emotionally weak enough to be manipulated by the Morphing Grid. Since it can download combat skill into their heads why not heroic tendencies as well?
Here s the most balanced match-up EVER: DC: The Annihilator (An armor forged by Greek gods) VS. Marvel: The Destroyer (An armor forged by Norse gods) Both built to be invincible.
Actually, the most balanced matchup would be Jago vs Liu Kang. Jago represents the tiger, and Liu Kang represents the dragon. Tiger and Dragon represent Yin and Yang respectively. This would truly be a balanced battle

After watching clips of the Megazord fighting within towns, I never realised, how the hell did the city repair the damages so fast! I know it’s a show, but still...
I dont know about this.. I cant argue the gravity part.. but why make such a big deal about the sword being able to redirect energy and add it to its own.. simply to then turn around and pretend it couldnt do that against voltron?
They sort of did. Notice how they make an equally big deal about the Power Rangers' actual combat prowess outside of the Zord and the Zord's lack of mobility/versatility. Voltron was only in a truly vulnerable state when locked down but the Zord couldn't get close enough to take advantage of the situation.
Because the point is to show who would win the majority of the time. Not all of them are as clear-cut as Flash vs. Quicksilver. Because Voltron outclasses the Megazord in each area by such a wide margin, it doesn't matter that there are ways the Megazord COULD win, because most of the time, Voltron WOULD win.
I've been watching this series for awhile and you know that they were gonna die when they said "survived a comet with the gravitational pull of a black hole"
+z bubbles Voltron was fighting Zarkon who had weapons that were powered up by 'magic'. Think of it like this, Voltron is vulnerable to magic just like Superman is vulnerable to magic.

You know there was always something I found weird about Power Rangers.
They each had their own Zord but only used them as individual units on extremely rare occasions.
More often than not they simply transformed into the Megazord.
Voltron on the other hand used the cats often as singular pieces and then transformed when things got rough.
That was a benefit of jettisoning limbs.
Although the leg was removed that didn’t mean the leg couldn’t reattach or work as an independent unit, while Voltron staggered on. This is why the Green cat was able to retrieve the sword.
Knowing that Voltron found not using all of its proven capabilities, shows how tough Voltron is.
From what I understand with the exception of the Tyrannosaurus Zord the individual Zords Have very limited combat abilities, at most they would only be able to give the Tyrannosaurus backup against a single foe.

ask any dark souls player which is more dangerous small and fast or big and powerful. so even if the Rangers would have had a strength advantage(which they do not) because of its size, voltrons speed and maneuverability would still make it the more dangerous of the two

In times of extreme stress he's pulled closer to 80, but miguel isn't on the exact same tier as peter. However in the battle of second string spin off characters he's far superior. His tech makes Terry's look primitive. Like when superior spider man tried slashing his suit and it did nothing. The problem with Terry is that he's not better than batman. He's a brash kid with Bruce in his ear. He has zero of the mental or physical training Bruce spent the majority of his life perfecting. The suit is all he's got and in the end to beat a high end street level metahuman like any of the spidermen you have to be a lot more than half their strength

In 2011 Batman Beyond had more upgrades in the Batman Beyond comics and his huge flaw overrelying on the suits technology is not a weakness anymore cuz he had more training and education with Bruce Wayne, Barbara Gordan, and many more fair warning if he has the Lord Batman Armor it's game over for Spider-Man 2099 even if Spider-Man 2099 fangs gets into his body his nano blood cells can help him fight off poison and many dangerous materials. Not to mention Batman Beyond's flash bang Granades are no ordinary Granades they are strong enough to blind you even with sun visor like The British SAS gas mask visor can protect them from getting blind or stun. 2099 Fighting style is predictable. There you have so Batman Beyond wins. 9/10

Azula (Avatar the Last Airbender) vs Roy Mustang (Full Metal Alchemist).
Both are strategists, manipulation artists, and creative in fighting. Roy has an advantage of manipulating oxygen to make explosions. Azula has the advantage to shoot lightning. Who wins?

I would like Roy to fight Zuko, but this could work.
Zuko lacks some of Azula's fierceness and raw power, as well as lacking lightning bending, unless he mastered that after the main series. Not to mention they had a proper fight at the end of the series and Zuko lost. Zuko does have some qualities that Azula doesn't have, but I don't think they'd help in a fight against Roy, as opposed to Azula's brutal fierceness, power, cunning and lightning bending.
Cobalt, I agree with the fighting experience. He's an expert strategist and has more than Azula. I still think Azula wins. Here's why:
1. Azula's ability to manipulate people after only a few moments of exposure to them is uncanny. She is able to play to their weaknesses easily. It wouldn't be long before she found Roy's weakness: his gloves.
2. DeathBattle pits characters when they are at their best. The argument that Azula wasn't right in the head at the end of the season wouldn't play into the rules here. Unless, Roy found a way to exploit that somehow.
3. Lightning. It's faster than his explosions. It just is.
4. While Roy manipulates the oxygen to explode, Azula can't control it. But as soon as combustion starts, she can indeed control it. She's fast enough to dodge it I believe.
Other thoughts: Iroh may be an excellent candidate against Roy. Opinions?

And yes, his explosions are definitely portrayed as near instant. To support your argument, even Azula has to have a moment to "charge up" her lightning. This would be a surprise to Roy only once, and then he would see it coming any time after. As a firebender, I don't think she would be as injured by his explosions as much as another person. Darknight, you raise an excellent point that Roy isn't limited to just flame alchemy as well. THESE arguments are why I think it would be an excellent fight! As for zuko vs Roy: no contest zuko loses. Sorry, he's not a great strategist, or forward thinker. Back to Azula: in addition to her hand to hand combat, she has also a range of acrobatic skill to beat the kyoshi warriors - who are specifically trained against firebenders. I would give her the edge in combat skill. We don't see Roy using that part of his training much anyway.

Don't worry; there's no way the Power Rangers were actually killed. Obviously the Voltron bad guys teamed up with the Power Rangers bad guys to trick the Power Rangers into fighting Voltron. So the Voltron team (or whatever they're called) were told there were dinosaurs on the planet the fight took place, while the Power Rangers were told there was an evil robot there. The two groups show up, and the fight ensues. Of course, after the fight the Voltron team are gonna ask the Power Rangers who they are, why they attacked, etc. The misunderstanding will get cleared up and the two teams will work together to defeat the bad guys in the big finale. Then they all get drinks at the juice bar.

They do it when convenient. Like how Cloud's feat of being faster than bullets (movie Advent Children) was essentially ignored and somehow Link was faster despite not being able to outrun arrows. I watch them mostly for the info and the entertaining animations, but they are clearly biased in some fights. Like how recently a Logia user from One Piece was defeated despite Logia users only being able to be hit by their elemental weakness, Haki or seastone and his opponent had none. In fact, neither had a way of defeating the other if you take their canon abilities. The statement of a Logia's invulnerability was also never brought up.

I dont know about this.. I cant argue the gravity part.. but why make such a big deal about the sword being able to redirect energy and add it to its own.. simply to then turn around and pretend it couldnt do that against voltron?
They sort of did. Notice how they make an equally big deal about the Power Rangers' actual combat prowess outside of the Zord and the Zord's lack of mobility/versatility. Voltron was only in a truly vulnerable state when locked down but the Zord couldn't get close enough to take advantage of the situation.
Because the point is to show who would win the majority of the time. Not all of them are as clear-cut as Flash vs. Quicksilver. Because Voltron outclasses the Megazord in each area by such a wide margin, it doesn't matter that there are ways the Megazord COULD win, because most of the time, Voltron WOULD win.
There's still a limit to how much energy it can redirect, and the constant barrage of attacks essentially cancelled it out.
