For this example we visited a factory located in the state of Texas in the United States, known as American Leather (www.americanleather.com/).
The design department is responsible for creating the sofa and making them viable for production. 3D software is used for this purpose.
The generated 3D files are loaded on the equipment.
The CNC router is responsible for cutting the wood sheet according to the project guidelines. It gives shape to the structure of the sofa.
With the wood cut, the assembler starts fitting the pieces.
The most important component of the sofa is the covering fabric, as this is where our skin comes into contact. It is important that it is stored and handled properly to avoid damage.
Before cutting the leather, equipment is used to map the cut areas. In this way, laser markings allow the operator to visualize the cutting points, thus optimizing and minimizing material losses.
With the mapping defined, the computerized cutter performs the precise cuts in the leather.
In addition to leather, fabric is also very important to the process. With the help of computer vision, the operator can check for color distortions in the fabrics.
When filling the pillows, the machine shrinks, expands and pushes the foam into the cover.
Skilled and well-trained seamstresses are responsible for sewing the sofa.
Glue and staple are used to assemble the structure and foam.
The workmanship is intense in the manufacture of the sofa so that we can have the best comfort in our home.
