  • Had a few people ask for help on rebuilding the 144 spoke 8 Ball Lowrider wheels, so took the worst one I have (painted, missing spokes) and decided to put this together. I am by now means a wheel building expert and I know there are a million people out there that could do it better, but it works for me and hopefully it gives some pointers on your own builds.

    This is exactly the information I needed. I recently purchased an old rusty lowrider bike. It also was spray painted and I was dreading it. Time consuming but in the end the results are amazing. Thank you for showing us.

    Look brilliant now. Just wondering what camera you use? I want to start recording my restorations but a bit overwhelmed by all the different cameras on the market.

      An old iPhone 5 32GB, records in HD and is nice and small. Not ventured in to the world of fancy cameras yet. Good luck with your vids, look forward to viewing

      Don't worry about the camera. Sorry more about audio and record with whatever you got. Jacksepticeye started with an old school webcam.

    Although I fully appreciate all the work you put into just the wheel alone,- it still mystifies me why you didn't soak the spokes in paint stripper overnight , then finished with a neutralizer before cleaning them off with water. I could see the spokes were still dirty in places. You put in lots of work not to get a spotless result. But, that's just me. Not trying to mean-mouth you.....

    • @TheRestorationShack
      @TheRestorationShack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, I take any constructive advice I can. What neutraliser do you use? Not dealt much with paint stripper. But anything that makes the job easier and the result better - I’m all in 👍

      @@TheRestorationShack Use plain distilled white vinegar. Just soak your spokes ( after 24 hours of paint stripper...) Then clean off the stripper, and soak in a vinegar bath.

      @@professorfukyu744 With a handle like "Professor Fukyu", I'm truly sorry, but I really can't take you seriously one bit.You ask me a redundant question, when, the answer you seek is in my comment, if you'd care to re-read it. Which, in essence, does make your question moot. As, you are not a bonified professor, and choose to take on a derogatory expletive as a last name, I honestly can't take you seriously, nor am I interested in establishing a dialogue with you at this juncture. I bid you good day sir.....

    I'm trying to put some of these wheels on a wheel chair project. Can I use front rims, or does it has to be hollow hub trike wheels only?

    • @lowlowsandclothes9923
      @lowlowsandclothes9923 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both should work

    • @professorfukyu744
      @professorfukyu744 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can swap out the whole inner hub and install a side mount or leave it and support both sides.
