Cool set up. As a cabinet installer, you’d be doing us a huge favour not wearing a tool belt inside the house at all. As soon as the drywall muddling starts, that belt becomes an exterior tool. I can definitely sympathize with forgetting things when you’re working, so I just wear a small finishers pouch at all times for 4 pens & pencils, a knife and tape measure. Then for the rest of the small tools you like to carry now and then some, I just use 1 or 2 of those new PackOut (or similar) open hand tool pouches. They fit a ton of small tools and you can see exactly what’s in it (or missing) from across the room. And it’s super easy to leave close by in a central location. I actually built 2 of them for when I really am moving around a lot on multiple floors of the house. It’s a bit of an investment, but replacing 1 large dented high gloss acrylic cabinet door (part & labour) will cost that cabinet shop as much as your entire tool belt.
I started my career on site doing roofing, joisting and 1st and 2nd fix and it was the thing to have big pouches with all kinds of shit hardly used in it.. 20 plus years later I do mainly cabinetry from a workshop but still do some general carpentry and now use a simple Snickers tool vest. Very comfy and light.
Yeah, you’ve hit the nail on the head with the tool belt clearance problems. I do a lot of second fix wearing Buckaroo leather pouches and belt. They’ll leave black marks on the walls (which come off with Wonder Wipes), and you knock things quite a lot. I’m trying to work with it because the set up cost so much. Shipping from Australia didn’t help. Nice vid. Keep it going.
Same thing with the occidental. They're too wide for pokey English houses. They're good when you're doing something outside and need all your kit on hand. But inside you have to leave them off and its just an awkward tool bag that spills everywhere. But they cost alot of money and I'm not giving up with them
Another nice video Jayson, keep up the interesting content. I am very much like you I do a lot more second fix work and don't like a big tool belt inside people's houses so I use toughbuilt which is really easy to adapt as it just unclips and you can place it where you are working
You should use a sacrificial board under whatever your cutting, saves cutting through the saw horses and stops pieces falling through when you cut them
Bucket boss are decent they used to do a parachute bag that had loads of pockets for organising screws and nails and they would stack ontop of each other inside a builders bucket they also do the bucket organiser it turns a bucket into a tool box bucket with tool pouches and organisers

I had one of those masks. Found it didnt fit on my face well. Think my nose to big haha. Didnt like the single strap. I have a taurus toolbelt from nz. Its called the hipster very comfortable and light. Everything has a place.
Never been a fan of tool belts but get the reasoning behind them. I always carry 2 or more tapes, pencils and squares I’ll have one in the room and one at the saw, likewise multiple drill set ups as I hate changing from screwdriver to masonry bits as it just wastes time! Also treat yourself to a flip driver! 👍🏻
Where's The Watcher in this video? BTW I've wasted ££££ on tool belt set ups and by far the best is the Mazo & Clavo from Diamondback. They are about £100 each side from TF tools. They sit nice and snug on your body and are perfect for the dreaded occupied dwellings. I usually just use the Mazo on domestics.
Enjoyed the video but if you worked for me and turned up to a job without putting dust sheets down you would be asked to leave. I say that as constructive critisism and having run a Joinery business for over 30yrs.. Lastly never apologize for not buying or being able to afford certain brands of kit.. Much of it is poorly designed tat and try and sell you a "Lifestyle" rather than a tool which will enable you to earn a living and do a good job. Better the man who does a decent job with average kit than the badge tart who has all the best kit but has no idea. Too many TH-camrs are fixated with kit but in reality have no clue about Joinery in particular.

Some 1/4” sacrificial wood strips on your saw horses may go a long way for track saw cutting.

how did you get that chip saw blade fit the evolution chop saw? i put mine in and it was sitting right
You can get bore expansion rings that sit inside the bore of the blades which change its size. I can’t remember the exact name of them.
