Hey all, I said 1601 (which was a series I liked) for some reason towards the end of this video, but we don’t edit these...I know the main Marvel U is the 616. Ugh. Hah. Hope y’all enjoy!
Great job Scott! Your unboxing videos are the perfect way to introduce a new Heroclix set and get the fire started. As always, we really appreciate your support of local game shops, it makes a difference! And finally, excellent job with the Harry Osborne VO in the Spider-Man video game, just one more reason people should play that game.
One reason is... In Europe (esp. in smaller countries) it is hard to impossible to get a booster even with expensive shipping, Wizkids focuses mainly for the US.
@@brobert27 Now that you mention it... I got my first and only contact with this game in Brazil. When I went back to Portugal and ask my local shop about a play group and all, they didn't even know what Heroclix was... So I never played it more than once or twice with a friend.
Money. These aren't cheap, and the game works best when you have a bunch of figures to use. At a tournament, you have to buy boosters, and with your friends in a casual game you need enough for everyone to choose their favorite heroes or villains. When I first got into the game, three of the guys who had been playing a while gave me all of their extra figures -- not sold, GAVE. I left that comic store with a cardboard box filled with 400, maybe 500 figures, from the DC and Marvel starter sets, Clobberin' Time, Xplosion, Indy, Cosmic Justice, Critical Mass, and Unleashed. That's why I fell in love with this game, the players are incredibly generous and helpful. We love comics and games, and want to show others how great it is. I tried playing video games at a different comic store and was killed 3 times in one minute, with guys yelling, "Boom! Headshot!" Really turned me off from learning to play video games. And when I had too many figures, I gave away my extras to new players who showed up at the store. Because even if some aren't tournament legal anymore, they're still cool and can be used to games just for fun. But now I have my own apartment, and can't buy multiple cases anymore, I have to pick and choose which set I'll invest in. Maybe WizKids could organize a program where players with lots of multiples recycle them to players in other countries, who can't easily obtain them? It's just a thought.
@@paulcoy9060 Cool to hear that man... Those "faith in humanity" moments. I bought some Lord of the ring figures but have no one interested in playing with...I mean, I have a friend into this type of stuff but he just had a baby. Well...let's see if anyone wants to learn with me.
There are so many problems with this game, most of which have been around since it began. Cost, distribution, complexity/learning curve, imbalance between rarities, imbalance between sets... And while all these problems exist the worst inevitably becomes the competitive collectors -they drive up prices and troll out casual players.
Been waiting for show for ages... I've seen some in a few in other blogs. But I want do any spoilers...but there are great figs in the packages . Like the spiderman and classic spy master. They were the days when heros and villains wore bright colours. Good see you back. Happy new year. 👍✌😊.
I still don't understand the Espionage trait. Why put the Improved Movement/Targeting on the trait instead of on the character like normal. Unless there's going to be some mechanic that shuts down, transfers, or copies traits.
I think they may be trying to prevent improved targeting and movement from being on the character portrait ring at the same time to prevent confusion? Also, for the sake of that trait specifically, it is easier (flavor-wise) to see why they gave so many characters those same improved abilities.

🧐 turn in your nerd card Mr.Porter
Kidding of course, thanks for the great unboxing!
OldManHowlett I know, I should have it ripped from me...😔
You do so many of these (all great) mistakes are bound to happen in one or two!
No biggie man we all make mistakes
Quite possibly one of the best Spider-Man figures I’ve seen. Plus that sculpt is simply gorgeous.
Christian Bogen the one from SFOSM was really good too but, tough call between the two. #049 btw

I don't understand why this game isn't more popular... it checks so many boxes for people who like board games/heroes

Awesome way to start the new year. Heroclix wouldn't be the same without Scott reviewing the new stuff.
So many of these figures have that Espionage ability, but it just counters itself.
Yes a new set has come out
