Mike's career has spanned a time of massive changes in music and video/computing technology. I feel that the fact he has always been at the cutting edge, has meant he must always be looking back with regret in a way, as things constantly become easier. The downside of greater complexity is that it can easily reduce creativity though as our logical brain has to work harder.
Mike looks like a villain from the New Avengers about to take over the world. All this can be done on the average PC nowadays! “I call it the CAR! Central Apparatus Room Mr. Bond!”
I liked the main Windchimes video and the non-album single 'Pictures in the dark'. The others were certainly no worse than videos for previous albums' singles. The computer animation dates them now, but at the time cutting edge.
Tubular Genius ! Poland Love Mike Oldfield ;-)
Never seen this behind the videos clip before. Thank you!!! 🙏
That house is now Tilehouse Studio run by his son Luke.

Probably also the reason why he’s now skint!
🙌🎶Great Musician🎶💫Music🎶💫🙌✌️
Thank goodness we don't do it like that anymore! I remember using that old quantum mirage ... cost 100k back in the 80's
It's fascinating to watch artists talk about what is coming (in this case, the Islands album, and accompanying The Wind Chimes video album).
I agree, there is an "Ah!" moment when my brian connects the dots.
Blimey, I remember this like it was yesterday...
The Bell logo jingle its an embryo of Sentinel melody.
Actually no, it's still the same melody as Tubular bells, going up in scale, whilst the melody of Sentinel is different, it goes down in pitch.
@@MiguelBaptista1981 i mean the synths under the piano
Small point, but this was a BBC show, not ITV. Specifically, "The Saturday Picture Show".
Wikky woo!
Wonderful! Thanks a lot, one video more for my collection! But why didn't you let the part of music at the end (famous free's allright now)?

State of the art then, but looks like a dodgy lockup nowadays...
And the videos were all terrible! :D
Which videos? The ones for the Islands tracks?
They certainly were.
