I just wish that Suzuki will equip this w the 6 speed AT available in the Vitara.
Spot on brother. The ride is definitely stiffer and a touch harsher. It is tuned like an SUV while the Ertiga is tuned like a classic MPV or even a crossover. The Ertiga rides smoother, less harsh. I know this since I've test driven both, on the same day mind you.
Interior space is EXACTLY the same. If you perform the exact same test as you have done here (where another tall person sat infront of you), you'd get exactly the same results. Why do you think they have exactly the same cargo space on paper? 😉 Right. Same platform, with the XL7 being larger in exterior (only) dimensions by just a few millimeters.
A great car definitely. But I wanted to maximize my savings and like the ride quality a lot better so I got the Ertiga. 😊
The XL7 however, would be my choice if I wanted an SUV/crossover type of 7-seater. 😊

I like the XL7 and the 3rd row seats that are better than most, the 12v sockets in all rows(try plugging in a hand vacuum or a tyre inflator in a USB socket, not every device that goes in a car is a cell phone, sometimes you need *gasp* perform regular maintenance), the ventilated cup holders, the best in class fuel economy and the functional roof rails. But my money is on the Xpander Cross, its got a little more elbow room and more cubby holes plus it has Cruise Control which is a Godsend when you want to rest your right foot for a little bit, especially on the highway. To me its the one of the major features the XL7 missed apart from at least 6 airbags and a 6 speed automatic to keep the revs down on the highway.
Given that the mild hybrid, facelifted ertiga was just unveiled in PIMS, XL7 should be refreshed as well. Looking forward to a comparo bet the 2 soon!

I got this car since February. You can actually switch to manual mode by turning off the Overdrive. There you will feel its power.
Good tip! A good friend also got his own XL7 and he lives in Baguio. So far he hasn't had any complaints!
Yes Sir I agree with you about the 16inch wheels and the lack of spoilers unlike its counterpart in indonesia.. I own an XL7 and as indicated in the CR it is an SUV.. Suzuki got a little shy on putting those 17's and spoiler but other than that it is still a great practical car.
It's up to owners like you to show us how it would look with 17's! Would you do it?
@@ZigWheelsPhilippines If I could I would but the problem is the wheel arch. Hehe. I saw somebody already did but he sacrifices the tire size and made it a little thinner just to avoid that "sayad" when turning If you know what I mean. Now if I look at it, the tires seems much smaller. If the wheel arch is a little wider I would definitely go for it.
Is this a new version or just a re-review with renamed title?

Strongly agree with the 17" wheels for the XL7
I own xl7. So so lang. To be honest maganda siya sa harap, pero pag naka park tapos nakita ko likod napapangitan ako 😅. Mababa din siya since maliit ang gulong. Pinagpilian ko rush or xl7. Puso ko gusto ng red na rush since mas maangas tignan mas mukhang suv at macho siya sa daan. Well, fuel efficiency daw important according to my brother. Lol.

One thing that I don't like about this car is the fake plastic skid plate.

i like this car but Avanza has 6 airbags in which is better for your safety, hope they gets 6 airbags next year.
Having 6 airbags is definitely a great consideration for a next car and Toyota has always delivered in the safety department :-)

Does it really have an "intimidating look" and why would you want to intimidate?
Cars these days somehow have the need to have that "mean face" aesthetic. The angry headlamps, sharp character lines and large grill seem to be what car companies think we all want . I guess we can't all afford to buy mustangs or camaros but we want to "pretend" and feel like our cars can at least look up to them :-) thanks for your comment!

We've never had a Suzuki and Suzuki is known for being cheap, but i really like this car. For the daily drive it's frugal, and they say Suzuki is cheap to maintain. Dunno if that's true. Hopefully I'll be able to get this car soon enough.

@@ZigWheelsPhilippines the mild hybrid is already being sold but it's not exempted from coding. It needs to do more being a hybrid.
If not for a very good review I would not waste 20mins of my time.
There was this time that I really watch out for their new cool car releases. But as the years goes by and the models that they keep releasing gets almost always the same mediocre looks & features, I just grew passed them and learned to ignore their brand. The value for your money just isnt worth what you're getting tsk. Dont get me wrong we own a 2013 APV GLX. Maintenance, parts, and accessories are costly for something with by far just being fair. There are alot with the same price range yet offers more advanced features. Come on Suzuki step up, there is still time.

Tires look pathetically skinny and small. And the room in wheel wells doesn't allow much room to use wider wheels and tires... Stupid black plastic cladding..
When I see these on the road, I try to overtake it asap. That rear end is just hideous 😂
there are some owners who installed a spoiler and a garnish on tail light. It looks good with spoiler.
The XL7's rear is way better than this recently launched model that looks like a hearse. 😂
Each has its own preference.
So are you used to driving BMW and Mercedes?l that you find this Suzuki's rear ugly?
