I don't hate Leon, I love his movies. But his movies after Shucks Shabalala went downhill. For me they just don't have the same feel as the older ones like this one.
that was F**Kin hilarious! I don't care if it was staged or not! the reaction was flippin hysterical and (just sayin) IF it was staged, then the only thing I HOPE they did was tell all those people it was a prank! or else you just scarred like 40 people for life! XD they take Tokoloshe seriously overthere! good show! Bravo! gimme more laughs 8D!!
@Saronaist It's in their supertitous culture. All the maids I had used to put their beds on 4 brick high. But yes, this Schuster clip is one of the more memorable ones he put out. (*_*)
He told them he was from Germany when he left they gather and in their mide is like that guy must be having some 9ce staff in there so they decided to open it because they must have thought that a guy from Germany wont remember that place and even if he would have come back they will deny ..what was in that suitcase make a good example of you don't attract to something that doesn't belong to you,you will find an expected things ...thanks for sharing this is hilarious i can't stop laughing...
mim a half black half coloured 13 yr old and my parents told me i must not believe in the tokoloshe. My grandmother said if the tokoloshe comes for you you have to pray hard or see a sangoma.
Came here after reading Mo Hayder's 2-book series of UK police procedurals that address muti and that hint at an actual tokoloshe as a principal character...scary/grim stuff, not cute/funny like this. I guess there's a reason these folks reacted to a tokoloshe like they did. I think I'll surf ahead to more Leon Schuster pranks to lighten my mood again!
I honestly thought it was bullshit when one of my Afrikaner mates told me. He said that his maid even had her bed on bricks so it was out of the Tokolosh's reach. Until the first time one of the black South African girls got really drunk at Uni, you know I had to test the theory.... So I told that night the Tokolosh was coming for her. ABSOLUTELY LOST HER SHIT! HAHAHAHA.
He didn't think so.....*giggle*. I thought it was funny how fast he got up. It was like he slid up. LMAO. The funniest one was the one that got thrown in the car window and then the woman who thought she wouldn't make it, so appeared to resign herself to her fate..... Bwahahaha
Lol. This is like black Friday shopping in reverse. Lol. 😂😂😆😎. I couldn't stop laughing I almost pee myself. 😂 You guys should play this video next to black Friday in the USA than you'll see what I mean. 😂 lol.
@AfriHound i look at these types of video this way - just think about the cameras, where they are located - how big they must be according to video quality, and who's operating them...
Hey Pumpkin, You can go and call somebody else and idiot on their own page, China. Now, apart from the fact that you have a very POOR understanding of the African person's fear of the Tokolosh, I do NOT believe this event was staged. If so, it is ONLY staged by virtue of those who are pulling the prank. You would never get a black person to come NEAR what they perceive to be the Tokolosh. The reactions of the people when that suitcase was opened was very real - and most certainly NOT staged.
@jdmderick I NEVER stop laughing when I watch this video. Sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction. LOL I hope you watched the video this one was a response to. (^_^)
Dear fellow its only BS to you because you just don't understand it. If you knew anything about the cultural suspicions of the Xhosas and Zulus in South Africa, it would all be very funny. Which of course it is to most of the people here. This Tokoloshe is very real to them. A lot of black families place their beds up high off the ground on bricks so that the Tokoloshe can be defeated in getting up on to the bed. And try throwing a snake among that crowd and see them run. Yup fearful for sure.
Many people do the same to avoid rodents. Could be that’s where it stemmed from, but as always, someone made into a spiritually “scary” thing/practice.
You must be dumb to not understand the African black culture and comment that on a video like this!!!! I grew up there for nearly 21 years - the closest i can describe a tokoloshe in western terms is satan simply put its like an evil cursed water sprite, theyre very superstitious like believing snakes are reincarnations of people who committed evil in a past life - They believe if youre touched by a tokoloshe it can give you a lifetime curse, thats why they put bricks under the bed legs!
All the domestic servants I ever had in South Africa put their bed on double bricks under each bedpost. They all believed in this Tokoloshe. There was a Boet en Swaer TV advert that showed one of them with Castrol drums under each bedpost. Not far from the truth at all. It's funny shit - never ceased to make me laugh. Today, there are WHITE people in South Africa who believe this superstitious nonsense...LOL A sure sign of the times.
Haters will hate. Leon is a legend.
I don't hate Leon, I love his movies. But his movies after Shucks Shabalala went downhill. For me they just don't have the same feel as the older ones like this one.

When I was a kid growing up, I was always told that a tokoloshe could come into my room at night and attack me. It absolutely terrified me 😅
😱@@chanelb6050
still to this day this is funny
They react much much more stronger than Canadians
STILL GOOD 👍
Another great prank, too bad it is a too short of a video... Respect to Mr. Leon Schuster from a Portuguese downhiller emigrant in Holland.
Yep, and that is why THEIR part of it was not staged. Schuster was ALWAYS pranking them....LOL
God bless Alfred Ntombela
this is pure acting
@WolfgangHolzmann Yes it is! LOL
