Sorry, everyone, It takes me a minute to reply, I haven't been getting notifications for some reason. Funny thing is at the moment I'm typing this my engine started surging really bad and stalling, so It seems like I'm getting a lot of vacuum leaks and EGR problems. So that is one thing to keep in mind if your idle is being weird after your 5.0 swap!
I have 69 mustang where I want a crazy engine and transmission swap in it and upgrading the differential. Man your video is a life and money saver and is helping me out tons. Thanks for posting, I just started the exact same project swap you did with a donor engine also. Thanks for the list and explaining things. I'm doing this project for my oldest daughter so this video helps... Thanks again ... I'm from SunnySide, Yakima county WA
Sorry, I mean what all did you use off the donor car? Everything in the video you got it off the donor car so instead of 12k you spent 1500 by having a donor car ?
Hey i got a question again. So I’m finally continuing the swap. I got a 86 donor and motors out, cleaned, and front pan with sump is on and what i ran into now is the dipstick… I’m thinking I’ll have to get a timing cover with dipstick hole and plug the hold on the block but the timing cover with the dipstick on it has a spot for the mechanical pump. Anyways i was wondering what you did with your dipstick?
Thanks for the informative video bro. I’m just embarking onto my automatic 68 CA Special project too. Bought an 1990 Foxbody engine with the manual transmission. Still need many more things that you mentioned.
I'm actually in the process of doing this swap. 67 coupe with original inline 6. Already swapped to 89 5.0 and t5. Used a carburetor tho... still needing to do the wiring harness, install clutch pedal and cable kit, have driveshaft cut/balanced, and figure out exhaust. Any chance you can do a video of some kind about your clutch conversion and installation? I mounted the carburetor backwards and modified the factory 6 cylinder gas pedal and cable to run the carb from the passenger side. Electric fans and an aluminum 4 core radiator from a 2001 miata (I have a 408 miata and tons of spare parts). No power steering or ac. Manual brakes.
Would be nice to see how that turns out I am doing a 68 swap With a 92 highway 95 transmission having trouble installing a brake booster over the adjustable clutch kit plate
Sorry about the super late response, it fits in but since it’s offset the joint hits my floorboard sometimes. I’m putting new springs in to hopefully fix that mine are old and sagging might be the issue
Bro can you help me with something I’m trying to put a newer rear differential on my 65 mustang I have a 94 5.0 with a 98 5 speed transmission what rear differential will fit ? Will a 8.8 explorer fit in my 65 mustang
So I screwed up and thought I had to cut a bunch out, but I had the wrong tranny mount... it was too tall so I did cut a little out but it wasn't necessary. I think you only need to cut out like an 1/8 inch, maybe.
