Two Weeks in Sri Lanka: Surf, Safari, and Serenity 🌿

- Join me on an unforgettable journey through the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of Sri Lanka! From the bustling streets of Colombo to the tranquil beaches of Unawatuna/Weligama/Mirissa, this two-week adventure is packed with unforgettable experiences.
Our journey begins in London, where I meet Carys, my travel companion for this exciting trip. Upon arriving in Colombo, we chill out and plan our trip! Making way to Unawatuna & Why Not Hostel. We dive headfirst into the rich history of the Dutch Galle Fort and marvel at the majestic sea turtles along the coast. I also get VERY burnt - I do not recommend.
Next, we make our way to Weligama for some epic surf sessions, lively parties in a skate bowl at Lamana, and a mouthwatering Sri Lankan cooking class with Papa’s Kitchen. Check out Papa’s Kitchen for the cooking class & the Cliff in Weligama for good food & vibes. Amidst the excitement, we find moments of tranquility with yoga sessions and some soulful open mic sessions at the hostel.
As we journey south to Mirissa, we soak up the sun on the beach, visit Parrot Rock, have fun on shopping sprees, and snorkel alongside colorful marine life. Immersing ourselves in the local culture, we spend time with a warm Sri Lankan family, dancing the night away.
The highlight of our trip comes with an exhilarating Yala safari, where we encounter majestic elephants, elusive leopards, and herds of buffalo in their natural habitat. Our adventure continues in Ella, where we marvel at the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, explore lush tea plantations, and unwind at Ravana Falls.
Despite a challenging 6-hour taxi ride to Negombo, we end our journey on a relaxing note, lounging by the pool and reminiscing about the incredible experiences we've shared.
