GR8FLEX told me in order to get the FREE "heavy bands" with the package to make sure you add them as well along with the Black Carbon model to the cart then enter the promo code "GR8MIKE" at checkout to get them free. You should see that taken out at checkout.
Mike I tried to use your code on the GR8 website and it says that the code isn’t good for the items in my cart and it the unit that you are reviewing in this video . Let me know if there’s a problem with the code or a way to get the discount. I don’t see the heavy bands also. Thank you
@@rambojohn7118 HI John sorry for this delay. I thought I responded to this one. From what they told me ( and I also just tried it) you have to have the Black Carbon and the heavy bands in the cart at checkout, then when you put the code in (GR8MIKE) you'll see the discount and the bands adjusted to (free). Hope that helps.
Honestly, I found overtime that the weight bar attachment for the total gym is a waste of time, yes, you can add weight, but if you add 90 pounds worth of weight, just as an example, you’re not gonna get an extra 90 pounds. The resistance bands I find to be much better because you get the full resistance that they offer. For the total gym, they’re much better than free weights
Another great review. Thrilled to see that the company is not only standing by their original product but also making small improvements here and there as well as expanding their product line. Going from the Weider to the TG Fit the one thing I was disappointed with was the lack of resistance bands but figured it would still be worth it and bought the weight bar with it. Hopefully this can lead to some healthy competition between the two of them. Appreciate what you do!
I’m glad to see some real quality competition for the total gym. Competition usually drives innovation. Wonder if gr8flex will ever make a commercial model.
That's a Great question although I think their market is more geared towards the average home workout consumer demanding a quality machine at a more reasonable price.
I have had my Gr8flex for more than 4 years. I bought the camo model and still use it. My husband did repair a wheel. I bought the TG later essentially for the weight bar. I use both, Gr8flex for the lower body, TG for the upper
Another great review. Any chance you can give your thoughts on the new power jym reveal from bodylastics? I’m curious what your thoughts our given you are using bands a lot more lately.
Great video Mike. I’m very pleased with my GR8FLEX machine and with the company’s responsiveness to my concerns. My two cents on the weight bar vs. resistance bands: I prefer the GR8FLEX’s system of resistance bands for the same reason I like adjustable dumbbells: because I don’t want to store a bunch of weights anywhere.
I agree with you 100% that if GR8FLEX were to add a weight bar attachment to their gym they would SLAP the Total Gym Fit model to a distance second. Imagine having 90 pound resistance in bands and another 90 pound of resistance with weight plates. That would be a match made in heaven for the sliding bench trainer world. Keep up the good work and let us know if the new squat stand can stand up to the force of heavy leg press training.🎉🎉🎉
I agree the fit is way overpriced and If GR8FLEX adds a weight bar it could offer serious competition. And honestly total gyms warranty is sketchy if you don’t buy directly from them.
Another great review! Do you think that you will ever review the Harambe K bar in the future? Would love to know your thoughts on their bar vs the X3 long bar
This was a great video and love how GR8 can take the resistance bands whereas TGF we need to rig it to work with resistance bands. If the TGF ever needs to be replaced unless they bring in the ability to use bands to add resistance I’ll switch to GR8. I have the TGF bar to add weight but it’s a cumbersome accessory to use whereas the bands on GR8 look much easier.
Great to see an undated review, Mike. I bought my gr8flex a year ago after watching your comparison review vid. Absolutely love my it. Has worked out real well for me. I might never have found this brand if it wasn’t for your vid. Thanks. 😉👍🏼 The only critique I have after a year of use, and there is only one for me …And that’s how quickly/frequently the resistance bands break. A few of mine have only last a few weeks before the rubber interior snaps. At around £70 ( UK price ) they’re expensive to replace when you need to do that 4-5 times a year.. ( My experience ) Being in the UK, understandably takes longer to get replacements delivered. I’ve had to go a few weeks where I can’t use the Gr8flex beneficially ( I need the resistance ) having to wait for new bands to arrive. The gr8flex is a really solid piece of equipment. Very happy to have bought it, and would definitely recommend it. The bands just need to be either stronger for a longer lifespan , or significantly better value on the price front.
Thanks for that heads up. I’ll definitely be testing the heck more out of these bands, but I feel like you should be able to get a free replacement if they’re breaking that quickly.
@@hybridresistance Be cool to see how you go with bands. Esp as you really hammer you sliding benches. I use mine across all exercises every day.. Maybe mine break because they’re not intended to be used so consistently. Love all the vids you post, Mike. You’re the go to Man for all things sliding bench. 😉👍🏼.
Got to say I loved the TG and enjoyed the feel even more than free weights and I'm a avid bodybuilder, nice and streamlined, easy set up and can still build a nice physique off these 100% I will be getting a GR8 Flex definitely, this looks one step up from the TG. Everything you need in one, just genius these things. I am very grateful for your channel filling in this niche
Hi Mike! I was wondering what is the difference between the model on the GR8FLEX site and the model on Amazon the XL? Tried finding a video or article that explained but I must be missing something here to explain the price difference.
They initially told me that from their site they'd include some extras in their package and you can get the "heavy bands" free if added to the cart using the promo code.
Weird request for a video... .for those of us with limited space inside, but with uncovered patios outside... How does some of this equipment handle the elements if covered with a tarp? OK to be outside, or will squirrels and mice eat cables? Will metal parts corrode faster? Sliding bench trainers? Concept2 Rowers? Etc....thanks
Hey Mike, another thought came to mind when you mentioned GR8FLEX was open to the idea of adding a weight bar attachment to their sliding bench trainer, and that though is AMERICANS LOVES IRON and NOT RUBBER. Especially in the fitness industry. Our mantra to adding resistance is through weights and not so much through bands. If GR8FLEX wants to seriously compete in Total Gym’s space in the sliding bench industry they need to realize that fitness enthusiasts in the U.S. prefer using weights. Having the option to add bands is great and will give them a huge edge over the Total Gym brand once their slinging bench is fitted to add a weight bar attachment.
I may have missed it did you review the Vigor Fit? These are gyms are definitely more expensive but currently shopping around, the videos are really helpful.
I wonder if GRE8FLEX would be open to competing with total gym in professional models. If they had a model with a higher tower like the GTS. Maybe an in between product that would offer more resistance to users who want a more challenging workout
