    What about taps where they are in the middle of the bath. Does the whole bath have to come out.

    Nice. What size drill bit is that please?
    My tap mixer has a white foam thing at its base. What's that for? No washer under tap. Only washer and plastic nut below the bath.

      Hi @Drew.Peacocks, thanks for the comment, the white foam thing you refer to sits at the base of the tap and squashes down ontop of the bath to the bottom of the tap (chrome part not threaded brass part).
      In other words in my opinion a cheaper version of the rubber washer, best put a smear of silicon around this 👍. Hope that helps and don’t forget to like and subscribe 👍👍👍

      @@NickTaylorPlumbingLtd Thank you yes it didn't come with any rubber washers for the top part, only the lower with the back nuts. I'll use the silicone all around the white foam stuff then!
      Thanks

    Hi, this is really helpful, pressuming the taps threads are 3/8 inch what size hole saw did you use?

    • @NickTaylorPlumbingLtd
      @NickTaylorPlumbingLtd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Stan thanks for your message, The tap threads in the UK are 3/4 inch, therefore I use a 19mm hole saw, note some holesaw measure 19mm on the inside of the cut and doesn't allow the blade with for the external diameter of the holesaw so be careful, no more that 22mm should be fine. Hope that helps and you've got some lovely looking taps!

    Nice video. I’m trying to install very similar taps on a new acrylic bath. My bath has wooden batons fitted where the taps are to go. Is there an easy way to remove them?
    Thanks

      Hi James, thanks for taking the time to write a comment. If you haven't already please like and subscribe to my page as it really helps.
      Most baths come with wooden battens around the underside as part of the packaging to stop it being damaged.
      However,
      If its not easily removable then It would suggest it is part of the bath, if so I would simply drill through them with a hole saw when drilling the tap holes.
      Hope that helps.

    Trying to tighten my bath taps but the thread just spins through the plastic nut on the under side so do you think I need a new underside plastic nut thing ?

    • @NickTaylorPlumbingLtd
      @NickTaylorPlumbingLtd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi George thanks for your message, sounds like the threads on the plastic nuts have perished and you will need another, the plastic ones are poor so best go for a brass one, search for a BSP Flanged Backnut 3/4 inch. Hope that helps let me know how you get on.
