Introducing the LMX by MB&F, an LM1 on Steroid!

- 10 years ago MB&F introduced the LM1, the first model of what would become the second leg of the brand with their Legacy Machine line, a collection paying tribute to traditional watchmaking. Over these past 10 years, we have seen some amazing pieces in this collection and to mark the occasion, MB&F now introduces the LMX, an LM1 on steroid as they like to describe it.
But it goes beyond this and you will discover all about it in our interview with Max Busser, founder of the brand, who explains to us the impact of the Legacy Machine family of watches for them and naturally sharing some additional details about the LMX.

I look at these creations, and they remind me of setting valve clearances on Ducati desmo motorcycles. The engineering of MB&F are at the level Ducati, and some fine automotive manufacturers have achieved. Max is creating the engines of dreams, that can be worn on a wrist.

I need my LMX... The perpetual is hard to find 2.. Hope to put my hands on this one in 1-2 years time.. Since LM is on the market I have no eyes for other watches.. I admire a lot this gentleman and what he’s doing. A true inspiration for many...

Yeah! TH-cam put WATCHES TV back in front of me! I had lost your channel about a year ago. I couldn't remember your name or the channel name. I even used Google Maps Street View to see if I could find you walking the Geneva streets! ha! And here I am seeing you interview Max, well done! I started a watch company making limited edition collectible watches 5 years ago. I contacted Max out of the blue to let him know I thought there was something missing in the watch industry around new technology. To my amazement he answered my email and carried-on a dialogue with me. He is not only an excellent artist, he is also a great human being. Maximilian Büsser is an absolute creative genius. The heart and soul of appreciation for mechanical watches is indeed similar to that of the work of art. To contribute to making this kind of beauty would certainly be the realization of a dream. I would personally enjoy Max work with Phillipe Dufour.
Speaking exactly to Max’s comments: I absolutely didn’t care for the brand before LM. I remember when it came out I immediately was curious and became more interested as it reminded me of classical pocket watches with modern ingenuity rather than futurism.

The watch industry should take a page from online creators, and musicians book and do more collabs, it creates an overlapping and overall broader fan base, and massively increases reach and influence as a result, i could only imagine the jacob and mb&f teams coming together on a product. Imagine an MB&f complication feature in a rolex release that really makes it flashy, or an AP/Rolex crossover. Alot of opportunity on the table there, near infinite possible collaboration combinations.
Collabs can indeed be very inspiring and interesting. I believe we will see more of these in the future, as long as they make sense ;)

I really hope that they made a version with hunter case, as those kind of crystal is kinda worrying to bang around the door knobs. Tbh... You could have someone to help opening doors except toilet doors. It'll be a cool watch with three portholes, the balance and two dials. Kinda look like a steampunk diver helmet when closed, when opened it'll look like a watch from detective conan anime.

@@user-zl2sc3bg3g yes, especially after handled 3 LM watches they made before, the LM1 Alain Silberstein, LM2 and LM101. I'm most probably get the LM101, especially collab with Moser if I had the money as I felt "safer" the most compared to another LMs crystal height wise and it kind of reminds me of Haldimann H8 tourbillon (the one with no time indication). Though really, I kinda want to see an LM watch with a hunter cover, engraved like a death star, that would be cool!
