I so enjoy seeig your joyful appreciation of everyday luxury... the pretty soap, the costly cotton squares, the ceremonial grade matcha, the books ... you just seem to love them so much, these small daily moments of pleasure. It is really the beautiful, balanced middle path besides restless consumption and stark minimalism. Very inspiring. ... Excuse me, I'm off to mindfully sniff my handcream now lol
That soap is stunning! It would be interesting to hear how the packaging holds up with use over time too. Sadly I react super strongly to fragrance even with brow products, but my personal recommendation is buying basic transparent glycerin soap, melting a part of it and pouring it into a fitting container (like reusing the patrick ta compact) or a silicone mold! It is a really nice way to re-use beautiful empty packaging, reduce the cost of the product and reduce waste in the process 😁 I realized this when my sister DIYed soaps last christmas gifts and proved how it was much simpler than I expected
Yes yes yes! Came here to say this - I DIYed some soap and poured it into a glass pot that used to hold a lip balm and I love it - it gives me triply happy feelings because not only am I *reusing* packaging that I *love*, but it was so *cheap*. The only problem is that it can be kind of annoying to stick my spoolie in the jar, but the Patrick TA packaging would be perfect!
Whether or not your ASOS purchase is fast fashion will be determined once you don’t wear it anymore. If that times comes in a few months - yes then it was a fast fashion purchase but if it is in 3 years then it was not. I am still a student and mostly but from the high street but exclusively from the premium lines (wool/cashmere/cotton/silk) and than keep the pieces until they fall apart.
I appreciate your reframing it this way, but I would consider that the production systems at ASOS are a large part of what makes it a fast fashion company, albeit one that is fed by demand created when consumers are quick to discard clothing and/or seeking the lowest price at whatever other cost. (I consume outrageous amounts of mainstream and industry journalism on this sector for work.) I think it's awesome that you're so keen to look after your garments, and I do agree that it makes a difference!
I nicknamed my cat Cecelia, stinky. She answers to it now too. Living in shared spaces with her, I’ve found a few products have made a huuuuuuuge difference. First is Fresh Wave - it’s a jar air freshener that is gel like crystals that absorb smell (but not in the cheap bathroom air freshener way). They sell it at Whole Foods and amazon. I also found the best cat litter...at least when she isn’t mad at me and refusing to bury poop...Boxie Cat. It’s a wee bit more expensive but so much better at odor control. (Sorry for unsolicited cat smell advice - Cecelia and I have been a pair for 13 years and I’ve tried a lot of things) I’m excited to try those incense matches too.
I can attest to this, it's fantastic. You would think it wouldn't last, but I have been using mine for almost a year now and it's going strong, and I have really bushy brows
I have been using kokie clear brow gel at jell Gooch’s recommendation. My brow are not too thick, so I need to keep whatever I have in their place, And I love it it’s not too expensive and jelly Gooch have a coupon code, I just order like 3-4 at a time and love it.

Every video with a Sadie cameo is extra special. I just want to quickly comment on your mesmerizing makeup video (here, where you might see it). And by comment, I mean flail around trying to find words. I've never see anything like it that could also be seen by children. Sensual doesn't do it justice. The way you managed to convey the tactile sensation of manipulating the materials was masterful. I feel like we were catching a glimpse into your mind, into the relationship you have with the material world, and with the materials in it you use to create beauty. It was perfect.
Those incense matches are so cool! I wonder if you might like shoyeido incense. It’s Japanese and exceptionally high quality. It’s the only incense I use, and I use lots of incense. It’s pricier than the cheap stuff but far less expensive than the ones you bought. It smells so lovely and the fragrance is completely natural.
Yes on shoyeido. I'm overwhelmed by the incense from India, white sage is torture, palo santo I can handle, but shoyeido , especially the woodsy ones, are soooo good!
I love Cirque Colors! I discovered them years ago on a hunt to find a true rose gold polish (Halcyon is amazing btw), and I have on occasion bought from them and always loved their interesting colors. My cousin bought me 4 polishes from them for my birthday this year, and one that she picked is very like that glitter one you have, but i think more muted glitters (purples and teals and silvers). Its called XX and its amazing :) my daughter steals it from me all the time :) I have found that buying nail polishes and sitting with my daughter and painting our nails together has been a nice bonding and self-care experience for both of us since we are still staying home. Its been an enjoyable thing about this year so I don’t feel bad that I now have a much more robust polish collection than I used to. In a way its for both of us, not just me.
It's much less aesthetic, but if you want something that will really kill that litterbox scent I recommend Ozium. It's like an industrial strength Febreze, and can even remove smoke odors from the air. It has a sharp citrus scent when you spray it but that fades quickly, and once it fades the room doesn't smell like ANYTHING. Really impressive stuff!
Hi Hannah, I just want to thank you for your content. I have been much more successful in making purchases that I can feel good about because they add something to my collection that I did not already have. As I contemplate my online browsing your voice comes to mind "I was looking for something to want" and I realized that was what I was doing and so I disengaged and chose to do another activity such as read. When I was contemplating something such as an eyeshadow palette I would pause, look through what I already have to see if I could "dupe the vibes" and by golly usually the answer was yes! So, I share these tidbits only to let you know that what you have shared has impacted my life. Thank you!
I used to write a nail polish and nail art blog. I shuttered it a few years ago but I still own all of the nail polish I used. Cirque is an amazing brand. Their brand is very artisanal and high end
My first thought seeing Cirque polish in your hands; yay, Hannah found indie polish! My second thought; uh oh. After my clothes phase and makeup phase I discovered indie polish and can not go back. It's a sparkly wonderful world where you could spend a billion dollars. Tread carefully. The seduction is real.
A top coat like Seche Vite is so cheap and extends the life and gloss of your beautiful polishes! Especially to smooth over the texture of the glitter :D I know you’re not eager to add more bottles already... but really, any top coat makes polishes so much more functional.
Etude House Keep My Brows Fixer is the strongest hold I've ever found in a brush through clear brow gel. It's like glue, but not as strong a hold as soap gives you, of course. Very affordable too.
The day you posted this I was just getting into bed so I listened to it whilst falling asleep, now that I am enjoying with the visuals I get additional enjoyment ESPECIALLY because of that amazing eye look!
I just bought my first ortigia glycerin soap in pomegranate and love it, I feel like I will never have to buy anything else and it will last for ages...thank you HLP!
handmade soap is amazing. My aunts love that stuff so I always buy little soap and lip balm sets from a local store that makes them for my aunts, kid’s teachers, and gift exchanges!
I just watched one of those videos (can't remember the channel) where they interview celebrities and their 10 essential things. Dan Levy mention those Hibi incense matches. I was already intrigued but I think you sold me. I'll probably grab some when I burn through my fall candles
Kind of obsessed with the little golden cat soap! It is so satisfying to find products that do exactly what you need & look exactly the way you wish! Due to the pandemic, I can totally justify a (backup) soap purchase! The incense matches are enticing too!

ordered the nail polish because I adore that kaleidoscope topper. Really. I also bookmarked the glycerin soap. I'll probably order it as a gift for my daughter and her friends (who I have the great delight to be their honorary second mom). I just have a huge bar of glycerin soap for myself and I can't replace it just because this one is sooooo pretty.
That bit at the end where you made all those funny, lizard shopping brain sounds (mah mah ma-ma-mah) cracked me uppppp. I went back several times to that clip and was laughing maniacally the whole time
Love that nail polish! I wonder if recently moving and putting things into storage and seeing everything you own so recently also “curbed the appetite” to acquire many new things.
I share a room with my cats litter box as well. I’ve found activated bamboo charcoal to be helpful. I got some bags of it from amazon. The best part is once they stop working you can put them in the sun and they’re like new again.
I love that shirt! It looks so good! Do you not consider cos fast fashion? I am under the impression that they belong to the h&m group 🤔 if I remember correctly, you bought some lovely pieces from them! Is fast fashion more about the quality of the clothes?
good question and good point! I guess I haven't been thinking of COS as true fast fashion because they have designs that come back year after year, a consistent aesthetic that supersedes trends, and quality construction that means the pieces I buy don't get tossed or decluttered. I think they are doing better than many, but definitely not doing the most. Good On You rates them above Asos. I guess for me it has a lot to do with the way I'm led to consume the product and how long it lasts in my life. But admittedly I've been going on feels rather than facts for some of this stuff!
I'm italian and love Ortigia as a brand! But I'm surprised to hear how much their perfumes are abroad, I own Fico d'India (which to me is one of the best smelling perfumes in the world) and paid only what it would be around $50 dollars for it :) look also at the homeware stuff Ortigia produces, they are stunning.
That green nail polish is what dreams are made of 😭 Indie nail polish is also an industry I have just discovered and fallen in love with recently, though I haven't ordered any because it is harder to find european indie brands and international shipping for nail polish is expensive and super long 😥
Hannah, I have brows like yours, I’ve tried the Charlotte Tilbury brow gel, Glossier boy brow, Pears soap, Patrick Ta brow wax and now the Fenty brow MVP sculpting brow wax - and the Fenty is the only one I’d re-buy, it’s fabulous. X
Off topic, but does anyone know if nablas eyeshadow palettes have magnetic pans that can be removed and rearranged? I know Hannah had some of the minis but I don't know if she still does. I heard someone talking about rearranging the shades in 2 of the mini palettes do I thought they may be magnet.
Hi. I was wondering if you were going to continue the project of looking into where your money was going (it was a very interesting one). Hearing you say you more or less intended not to buy from fast fashion brands reminded my of the pair of jeans you bought from Bershka (if I'm not confusing things). You obviously did not know it was a fast fashion brand and thought they were vintage but I think it was a purchase that would have benefitted from that project if your intention for the future is to try to steer clear of the fast fashion brands.
I've been making my own press on nails for almost 2 years. 600 full nails cost me $5.00 then I put them on a toothpick and stick them in Floral foam. Its very relaxing and there is so many things you can do from crystals, glitter, nail staming, foils list gos on and on I own over 300 nail polishes it's my wearable artwork. I get compliments on it and nobody can believe that their Press On!!! It cost way less than my makeup
If this soap doesn't work out and you want to go back to the compact you could probably just melt down regular bar soap you know works well and pour it into the Patrick Ta compact to set so you could continue to use the pretty compact while only spending bar soap money
I have known my husband since 1997 and we have never tried on each other's pants of an evening. (Gonna book this for sometime soon)...A couple suggestions for high-waisted pants for men would be vintage pants and H&M..."Smacy" on youtube had a video a while ago about how even though she has a lot of clothes that were "fast fashion" doesn't mean she discarded them. The top I'm wearing now I bought three years ago walking through Target on the way to the makeup isle during the dark times of my worst makeup buying habits. I love the top even though it was definitely not a sustainable piece of clothing. I think if you keep it until you wear it out, it's not so bad. I totally get what you're saying though about how once you become aware of your spending and wanting to be fewer nicer things, that it kind of wrecks that high you get buying fast fashion.
Ohhh ! If you haven’t tried papier d’armenie you should! It’s a little booklet of papers you fold and burn and they really get rid of smells you don’t want. The designs are very pretty and it’s a little more inexpensive than the matches :)
Yes, I agree! Santa Maria Novella makes lovely Armenia papers that I've given as Christmas gifts in the past! I use the less expensive French papier d'armenie that can be purchased on Amazon.
C Anne I actually had no idea they were a kind of thing until I looked up how to spell it! I’ve only used the cheap French ones as well but now I’m gonna do some searching !
Okay, so I see a few comments that misunderstand the term "fast fashion". Fast fashion is a production method that many brands use (not just cheap ones, designer use them too), that releases a line of new clothes around every other month (if not more frequent). Also it is fast fashion regardless of if you wear till they worn out. You want to look into the company's supply chain before you can for sure "it is not fast fashion".
i understand why you may not be the happiest with the asos order, but it was more of a utilitarian purchase. plus if at some point you get tired of it as it is, it is a garment that can be easily modified due to its shape and colour.
Love your look. I want to watch that tutorial next. They have incense matches on Amazon you can get 15 books for $20 and each book has 30 matches. The matches don’t last as long as the fancy ones but they work well.
September has been a weird month shopping-wise. I've been making really good money at work, but I have no time to even think about spending it. Until one night I was really exhausted after a long day of schoolwork, and made an impulse purchase right before bed. I forgot about it entirely until I received a shipping notification later in the week. The thing (glitter gel and a lipstick) are very nice; I'm totally enjoying them. But in the meantime I genuinely NEED new work clothes and shoes, and have no time or mental space to dedicate to in-person shopping or online browsing, contemplating sizing, etc. The money spent on the makeup was a drop in the bucket, but I wish I'd impulse-bought some new work boots instead. I can't wait for the semester to be over.
Are you worried about the condition of the box containing the soap? I feel like the soap will last forever, but if I were to use it daily the box would inevitably get grimy and bent. But I’m a beast.
it has kind of a plasticky finish, perhaps because it's metallic, not like regular cardboard! I think it will hold up ok, though it might be in rough shape by the very end. We'll see!
For incense that is a very good value and smells amazing - highly highly recommend Incensio de Santa Fe (inscents.com) - has the cutest little burners shaped like New Mexico casas, and all the smells are made of real woods, so they all smell like various delicious campfires. You can get a sampler of all 7 smells with 70 bricks for $14.
I was SO excited to see the Cat Soap on your IG, because if I didn't have the Patrick Ta brow wax (which for me lasts forever, but I have very different brows) that Cat Soap lovely packaging is the only way I could do soap brows. I'm not even being dramatic or intensely driven by beauty (although I like that. The actual mess of a bar of soap would make my OCD go apesh!t. My wife prefers bar soap (super BOUGIE bar soap_for her body and hands and I have to keep it on a soap saver and clean it every day. So this is a lovely option and the exact kind of thing I imagined as the way I would use soap brows. Assuming I every finish the Patrick Ta. Seriously, I'm dying so hard for the packaging, I'm thinking of ordering a Cat Soap for my travel beauty bag to use as my hotel bar soap (and then double as travel brows) and I'm pretty sure my wife is getting some for Christmas, because she loves fancy soap and cats and I like finding her soaps since she is hyper minimalist about skincare and bodycare (it has taken me TWELVE years to get her to use something other than bar soap on her face she might occasionally put on the skincare I leave out for her, but it's like a 1/10 chance, but bougie bar soap is her jam). So this is a triple good find.
I just bought that cirque nail polish last month 😭 it’s so pretty... did you try their speckled polish, I have pistachio and Robin and they are also soo pretty! I’ll tag you in my IG picture you might like it!
Colourpop literally cited fast fashion as the business model they wanted to emulate when they started their company. I'd say many brands have been increasingly espousing a "fast makeup" approach over the past few years. Cosmetics brands used to have a couple of big launches each year. Now they have a couple each season or, in some cases, a couple each week.
I love my Hibi matches, Sandlewood is divine 😊 I like them because I live in Queensland Australia and I can have a gorgeous scent without my ceiling fans blowing out a candle! Hot girl problems 😂
Hey Hannah! I figure I’m too late to comment on the last QnA video, but there’s a gorgeous rendition of the Blue Ridge Mountains by Rising Appalachia, if you’re looking to listen to that song again :)
I just bought a navy blue Biden/Harris t-shirt for $7.99 off of eBay that has brought me more joy than anything else I bought this entire year!!! It’s amazing how much joy you can actually receive from something that carries so much meaning for you (even if it’s extremely inexpensive).
This look Hannah! It's like you know to content of my soul !! Also, Michael he uses my pants (we wear each others clothes all the time) so you can always buy womens for Joe :)
Hannah: I haven't bought nail polish in 5 years Me: I bought 5 nail polishes just today Cirque Colors is one of my favorite brands! I also really like Emily de Molly, KB Shimmer, Polished for Days, and ILNP. I don't want to tempt you (because indie polish can be VERY addicting) but I think you would enjoy checking them out, especially since you're into glittery/multichrome eyeshadows.
Be careful, nail polish is more addicting than makeup lol a top coat is a necessity though.. the best is INM Out the Door Top Coat, just $4 or so at the grocery store I go to
Dear Hanna, welcome to my life and nail polish addiction. I own around 100 and it’s my precious (insert Gollum’s voice) therefore it’s part of my no buy this year. Literally this week I naught every nail polish user member of my family a bottle for Christmas since my current favorite brand had discounts and a launch. I am gifting 7 nail polish to 7 fam members... my purchase was 10... do the math lol. BTW I blame myself and the amazing ILNP polishes... they are amazing!

Hannah Louise Poston That makes a lot of sense to me, thank you for such an insightful response! 💚
Good point, both Cos and Aritzia are actually fast fashion. Probably any clothing from Amazon, Target or Yesstyle too..
First thing I have noticed are brows (in positive way) and I said to myself Hannah bought some soap 😂😂
hahaha!
I use a neroli bar soap from my friend's brand Blue Labelle. Orange Blossom is an awesome scent 🧡
Good morning Hannah, and all! 🌞💜
Cheetah (Brow)Soap Devotees of Europe, listen - I've just ordered Ortigia from lookfantastic and wanted to share my delight
OOooOOooOooooh!
Thank you!😍
Try the Nature's Miracle Litter Box Odor Destroyer!!! It is a godsend for my 2 cat household
Cirque polishes are fantastic! 🧡
hey Hannah. loved that precious soap tin & your peacock eyes.
Make a poem about soap brows
I'm italian and love Ortigia as a brand! But I'm surprised to hear how much their perfumes are abroad, I own Fico d'India (which to me is one of the best smelling perfumes in the world) and paid only what it would be around $50 dollars for it :) look also at the homeware stuff Ortigia produces, they are stunning.
I think it goes both ways with import taxes though. I was shocked to see what Levi’s, carhartt, and converse cost in Europe.
That soap is so beautiful 😍
Oil slick on pointtttt
That green nail polish is what dreams are made of 😭 Indie nail polish is also an industry I have just discovered and fallen in love with recently, though I haven't ordered any because it is harder to find european indie brands and international shipping for nail polish is expensive and super long 😥
I'm trying to pay attention to ~the meat of the video~ but I am so entranced by your eye look today! So beautiful, Hannah!
I'm so curious to try it! But worried that the cost per wear would be awful for me! It looks like so little product.
Also, I have that nail polish and it’s the best! I get compliments whenever I wear it and it camoflauges my dirty art teacher nails
I bought the new Hourglass mascara this month (its ok) and a TON of Davines hair products that I am really thrilled with
I have known my husband since 1997 and we have never tried on each other's pants of an evening.
@@minilions Anything European and I'm goo goo, gaa gaa!
Didn't you have some skin irritation with soap brows before? Is that not a problem with this soap?
Comment 2
I identify so much with what you say. I need to do a video on my failed no buy, and this video and videos like it help me think about it.
That eyeliner though! 🤩
No tell us we care we want every mundane detail
Is joe a Libra? My partner and I are a Pisces libra pair and I’m thinking you guys might be too!
Looooooove this look!
We'll see!
LOVE the 80s look 😍
I wonder if there are any differences between fast fashion and “fast” makeup.
If you're looking for high waisted pants for men, vintage repro brands are a pretty good bet cause 40s and 50s style was higher waisted for men
I love my Hibi matches, Sandlewood is divine 😊 I like them because I live in Queensland Australia and I can have a gorgeous scent without my ceiling fans blowing out a candle! Hot girl problems 😂
Hey Hannah! I figure I’m too late to comment on the last QnA video, but there’s a gorgeous rendition of the Blue Ridge Mountains by Rising Appalachia, if you’re looking to listen to that song again :)
I love 80s Hannah
Would you consider doing a Grwm where you tell us how you do a wing in your hooded eyes? I still can’t make it happen...
Love the eye look!
Hannah: I haven't bought nail polish in 5 years
Me: I bought 5 nail polishes just today
Cirque Colors is one of my favorite brands! I also really like Emily de Molly, KB Shimmer, Polished for Days, and ILNP. I don't want to tempt you (because indie polish can be VERY addicting) but I think you would enjoy checking them out, especially since you're into glittery/multichrome eyeshadows.
For men's high-waisted jeans: Wrangler brand. And tailor the back waistband. 😁🍑
Check out Kelli Marissa on YT..she reviews nail polish/does nail swatches and she is great! She reviews cirque polishes as well as indie polishes, drugstore and salon brands. She is fun to watch too.
When you got the box of soap you were like ooh shiny lol you need to try holo taco from simplynailogical a TH-camr who loves holo
❤️
perfect eyes
