Magical, this is one of the iconic things of Lake Superior. It's self made weather, sea smoke, fog ice and snow. Love the night videos, a true unique experience.
Mystifying and bewitching .... As a massive black wall of steel creeps out of the darkness...A Haunting atmosphere surrounds her as she passes by eerily Then is swallowed up by the darkness... You captured an exceptional scene in an exceptional way. Thank you for this ghostly sight!! Extraordinary....
Way to set the scene Photographically (Lights shining into the fog) and your description of the coming elements are spot on. Great framing once she emerges from the murk. Steady tracking throughout, frozen arms and all! Great pacing and use of your lens. Gotta say you are the best at capturing the scale of these Lake monsters. Love this winter end of the shipping season capture. Thanks.
A great catch! What an experience for you....seeing that ship emerge out of the blackness and the fog and then hearing her break the ice as she left!! Jealous!!!
Wow. I know that they have lookouts and radar and a whole lot of experience, but it has got to be still a little spooky being underway in conditions like that. Makes for a very atmospheric video.
@@NoewerrATall oh yeah, was listening to their radio before I went out there, they were definitely not comfortable with it but it was only going to get worse so they were using everything at their disposal, lot of communications with the bridge, apparently they were even using the DHC live cams here on TH-cam to help themselves out too, using them to judge different fog densities around the various parts of the harbor. I don’t have a clue how ships managed this sort of thing even just a few decades ago
A foggy night over a snow cover shows that warm air already arrived. The temperature will quickly rise until all the snow has vanished, and that old gray, mild and soggy weather will be back by tomorrow. - Well, I guess it doesn't mean that same thing in Duluth.

@@ottosaxo yep that’s exactly what happened, stayed warm for another day, melted the snow then plummeted again
She disappeared into the mist as quickly as she arrived. I will admit this would be a great set piece for a Batman Episode
Winter getting REAL now! U.P. of Michigan here, 175 miles from Duluth!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Stay safe, stay warm! 🌹⚓
Will do!
That ship needs to change over to LED's.
