      whats worse is lower model logitech mouses also have the same issue. so they actually made defected units before and instead of fixing these simple issues they just made more new mouses with the same fucking problems.

    A good tip for anyone else doing this, buy a set of replacement pads for the bottom in advance.
    Also, props to Logitech for making the mouse reasonably easy to disassemble. I've done this with a few of my mice now, and this was the only one that was utterly _simple._

    thanks man! I'm waiting since 2 weeks for my RMA and I was about to go crazy. This helped. I tried rubber, paper and kitchen roll paper. Normal paper worked best for me. Don't put it over the axis like a "cap", but instead push it into the hole (exactly like in the video) and place the paper beside the axis within the hole.

    You, sir, are a prince amongst men. This was easy to follow, and seems to have fixed the scrolling issue for the moment. I'm not sure how long will it last, but it'd be easy enough to repeat this. Shame on Logitech for releasing such a faulty HW. The mouse broke down exactly 1 month after the end of warranty. Some engineer at Logitech got a raise for such precisely timed fail I guess :(

      So far with this exact mouse, which I otherwise love, the left and/or right click switches I've repaired (soldered on new ones) 3 times in few years I've had it, and now this wheel thing. Glad to see it's working but this is shameful quality coming from a bran I had a lot of respect for. But at least you can hack it back together for a fraction of the cost :D

    • @DiaborMagics
      @DiaborMagics 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@versusforward I know this is over a year old, but in case you read this: when I select text it often deselect itself again after I release the button, or it will just click and deselect while im still (under the assumption that I am) holding the mouse button. Is that the kind of issue you meant with the click switches?
      I'm a total noob in this department so I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have both that issue and the scroll wheel issue and I'm wondering if I should just replace the whole mouse at this point. Fixing the scroll wheel looks simple in the video but I've never done soldering.
      I could send it out for repair but research cost alone is 65 euros, 2/3rd of the mouse's cost. Can't imagine that the price for the actual repair would be worth it.
