Instead of exporting the drums of avocado oil to Italy, where it is bottled and exported as a value added product world-wide, they should bottle and export the avocado oil themselves.
The real issue i'm having with your comment is that the bottleing of avocado oil does not add much value, this man already added most of the value to the product by transforming it. The issue is that he is not compensated fairly for the value he added through the transformative process ... The italian embottling company is the one grifting. I dont know much about trading deals between kenya and italy, but it might have set up this predatory situation.
Sounds like a good idea and it's always good to have value added products, but there are thousands of considerations to take into account, from secure energy to processing to controls to investments. IDK anything about the process itself, nor if it's worth it for this item to be manufactured locally vs. it being exported. It sounds good, but Kenya(?) may find more value in exchanging raw food stuffs for a tech transfer, for instance. You're looking at a very low-tech operation here. This looks like an operation that could be in Europe in the early 1900's. It's on it's way and that's good, but it's far from 1st world, international standards. Right now, this is not a high-tech, high value operation. Infrastucture; roads, reliable electricity/energy will determine first what is possible. While being a nice product, Avocado oil is not high on the "to do" list. It's downstream from more pressing considerations. This video is basically a "shout out" to possible investors. If you feel the way you do, put some $ together, go bribe some officials and invest.
Kudos, my young African Brothers its irony that Italy is # 1 importer of oils like olive, avocado etc. I don't think they do magic to it but bottle it with fancy names and sell to the world. You guys can research and get the value added business and yes they sell back to us Africans.
I'm marvelled by his level of ingenuity . Pure avocado oil produced in Kenya ! I'm so proud of you ! He's got brains .Kudos to this great researcher 💪💪💪
Avacadoes are fetching good money in Europa America and even China and many peoples are ripping big in my Motherland kenya but to value addition the way to go.+44
You can sell the Dry waste in markit as a Cattle feed , it will help you earn more money then as a burning them as fuel , It Still have lots of Nutrious velue in , and it will help farmers to produce more good quality milk ..
Wow, I am super impressed with what my fellow Kenyans are doing with this type of innovation. Until today, I had no idea that we (Kenya) are the #1 avocado exporter in Africa and the #6 avocado exporter worldwide.
Reclaiming the condensate and feeding back into the boiler saves energy too, as the water is still hot. Might also be a good idea to look into a screw/auger press with a built-in heater. I've used such a press for extracting coconut oil from copra.
Wow this is amazing. The potential of avacado is huge from eating , cooking oil and hair oil. The nuts can be grinded into an organic fertilizer and may be into a chicken feed meal.
Value addition the way to go pround of my MOTHERLAND Kenya Avacadoes as super food are fetching Markets all over the World Europe And America and China also but the farmers have to come together and do away with the Middlemen/Brokers and and mitigates how to exports their produce..they get 10 to 20 shillings for 1 Hass avocado that less than 40 pence in UK and we are buying them more than 1£ and 50 pence
What's really good about this system, is it can be done efficiently on a fairly small scale, instead of a big factory. Urbanization without people having to go to a large city for work. I can see a thousand of these spreed across Africa set up as a cooperative.
You're right on! That's exactly how I would like to do in many African countries, including buying up thousands of hectares of farmland to community-based farming.
Shame that they have to sell outside Africa , the company is good for kenyan employment opportunites but fellow african countries are still suffering unfair trade with this foreign countries
Ok the process of drying the pulp on the trays. I believe he uses the waste to make brickets and the brickets are used to heat the boiler which contains water and when the boiler gets hot it produces steam, the hot steam is then directed to the trays via pipes to dry the pulp. The pulp while in the process of drying produces water. Man that is really genious. Thats what i call circular economy. He can re-use the water that comes from drying the pulp, back into the boilers
Avocado seeds are the most nutritional part of the Avocado...I put them in a blender after i break them down to small pieces and put them in a smoothie...
A good video well done.l am a Nigerian and a retiree thinking l can learn from you and also have a way of making more money but this is beyond my capability.l wish you all the best.
God blessed Kenyans with such a beautiful skin it's so shiny and bright, instead of just focus on the content I'm like hypnotized by looking at them 🙈😂 just because of their unique skin!
Great work. One challenge though is that heat destroys certain lipids within the avocado oil. Perhaps you can consider ways of extracting the oils without raising the temperature.
Changed over to buying the oil here in the UK instead of the fruit because in the supermarkets too many ppl squeeze the avocados to test weather they are ready to eat even though they clearly labelled as ready eat type .no issues of ending up badly damaged avocados now with the oil it easy to keep for long periods of time in the oil taste is constantly the same it all wins if I could buy in gallon form would be best just yummy
I admire young Africans who are taking the bull by the horn, literally, they're not running away from Africa to find greener pastures as some do, well done! If Africans will stop complaining and praying to God for manner but go to work Africa will be transformed sooner than later
Congratulation with tour product. I am wondering if you can make an other product of the skin and the seeds. by example soap or foodcolloring or solloring to tie die textiles. I wish you succes and GODS BLESSINGS
Welldone and Good job. The same thing happens to crude oil which is exported outside Africa and imported back as PMS. But with good support from our government, we would surely get there. More Grease to your elbow.
When President, Dr. William Ruto says that we add value to our products, this is the kind of activity he wants us to get into. The Professors, Mechanical Engineers should study this process and write further thesis about how to improve, and replicate at say KShs 500K instead of 40 million. The last person who said so was Moi when he constructed three Nyayo pioneer cars. We have a lot of avocado in this country and we can get more of these oil factories and get the women and young men out of the streets,

Normally for all edible oils the seeds (of fruits)are used for processing to oil. Avacado fruits also have a big seed inside. Whether they also can process these seeds to oil ?
Italians are re-packaging and marking up this oil then selling to global markets like U.S. (Costco) under Italian branding. There is enough local demand for organic authentic oil for both cooking and other purposes in East Africa and beyond. Bravo to this young man for being resourceful and innovative, Awesome Africa!!
I have been trying to get an affordable hydraulic or any other solution for the ovacado oil extraction that can press over 5tonnes in 12hours.. anyone with an idea how i can do that? The current machines are too big for a start up and too expensive.
Instead of exporting the drums of avocado oil to Italy, where it is bottled and exported as a value added product world-wide, they should bottle and export the avocado oil themselves.
exactly
The refining machines are 20× more expensive! That's why many producers go for crude!
Can go upto 3mil. Usd
Absolutely. It’s then exported to USA and other European countries where we pay about 1600 shillings for 16oz bottle

Africa is where the journey begins, Shame organisations like Innovate Uk taking advantage of remote farmers! Repugnant 🤢
You mean exporters
My mind is blown by the sheer ingenuity of this young man 😮✨
I purchased my first bottle of extra virgin avacado oil today and that’s extracted in Kenya 🇰🇪
What the cost in ksh.

it would be better to make multiple product from the avocado and export that instead. 10x
@@barrytelesford5265 This guy is OK. I just wonder what level of education Kennedy has. He is a genius.
