Jorge Prado to Monster Energy Kawasaki | First Look

- Kawasaki has confirmed the acquisition of Jorge Prado on a multi-year contract. Prado, who won the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship, has moved to Southern California in preparation for the first round of the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship, Anaheim 1.
Prado leaves Europe with two MX2 titles (2018 and 2019) and two MXGP titles (2023 and 2024), as well as 49 Grand Prix victories (18 in MXGP and 31 in MX2). This is, of course, the first time that Prado will be seen on a non-Austrian motorcycle and without Red Bull branding. Fox Racing is also a new addition to his program via a head-to-toe deal.
Anaheim 1 will mark Prado's fifth Monster Energy AMA Supercross race. Prado captured a career-best score of seventh in the San Francisco slop, then recorded 13-11-12 results in his other appearances. Jason Anderson is set to sit next to Prado on the Monster Energy Kawasaki team - he has entered the final term of his contract.

Tim Gasjer is also interested to go to AMA SX/ MX for 2x money on his MXGP, but it's unlikely because Lawrence Brothers is enough for Honda currently, and Gajser has additional sponsors for 2025

@@AndrewYarrington yes because of money but Tim Gasjer is advised by Honda to remain in MXGP because there is some more sponsors offer to TG and also Shimoda, Jet and Hunter and many other Honda riders in AMA SX/ MX are enough for Honda for now until 2027

@@doglover136_Remember Jeffery Herlings first race in the United States and he won the first moto and had a bad start in the second and won that one too. It was only one race and he was inexperienced with the track. It was at Ironman when Tomac was on fire a few years ago. Prado is the type of rider who adapts and learns quickly so I think he’ll win some races and besides Tomac and Sexton, Prado will also be a threat. I think Supercross will be a struggle his first year but outdoors he’ll be fine.

he looked kinda small on the bike
the reality is that if he doesn't get hurt in SX he will finish about 7th or 8th with maybe 2 top 5's.......in MX if he is healthy at the start he will finish about 4th.......he doesn't know the tracks and he isn't used to learning them that quickly. He also signed with a team that won't make every change he will ask for or need. Honda should have broken their internal rules and brought him on board. Why Roger didn't offer a ride is beyond belief....biggest boner the KTM racing conglomerate has ever made. And why didn't Ducati try to sign him ?

I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember that this was Ricky Carmichael’s first pro number. Seeing 70 on that Kawasaki made me remember that. I raced from 1977-1985/1998-2002.
