For those that don’t have a Kreg jig (which hubby made the side holes in the 2x4s), you can use a 3/4 inch piece of plywood on the bottom. You can buy smaller ply sheets in 2’x 4’ Rectangles at Home Depot or Lowe’s and they will cut it for you into a 16 x 16” square. Great idea for florals!

Yes! A clear sealant will work just fine. I like to use a spray paint one.
