    Lovely earrings! In order to speed up your process, and help de-bubble the dried flowers, would it be easier to mix the flower bits into the resin and then fill the molds part way with the flower mix? If you have a vacuum pot it would really be great. It would give you more working time to let the bubbles escape and then you could fill/top off with clear or glitter mix resin to the mold rims if needed. It would also make sure the flower bits are submerged, as well as the back will be flatter too. I would suggest a drop of glue or UV resin on your eye pins to avoid losing the beautiful resin charms you made.

    Ty for the tutorial and the running commentary. It’s very helpful when you go through the entire process out loud as it’s happening. I’m also sure that we get more information this way. I have a question though. Why wouldn’t you mix the flowers with resin and then drop them in the molds? Would it be faster? I find it run into the end of the working time for the resin when I try and do too many pieces with multiple steps at once (the three times I tried😛). Ty again.

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! ❤️ You can do that, but I have found that putting that many things in the resin and then trying to get it into the tiny molds is much harder to do and I always make a mess. This is my preferred method, but I know that everyone has their own way of doing things that makes it easier for them.
      I do add things directly into the resin before pouring if it is a larger item

    I really like the bulk idea with the crumbled flowers. I've been looking for a way to scale up my craft and still have each one come out really nice. This seems to be the way to go. Do you ever use E6000 for the back rather than a layer of resin? And I got some stamps that I use on the cards so each one has sort of a personal touch.

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stamp is a great idea!
      I have some E6000 for some other projects I make but for these I think it is more sturdy to use the resin. I feel better doing it this way, because I don’t want to risk the backs falling off.

    Those turned out beautiful! What resin are you using? I didn’t see any bubbles in the resin & with those dried flowers there would normally be a huge amount of bubbles to deal with at least that’s been my experience. Maybe I’m using the wrong resin.

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I love this resin from Amazon. The trick is to have the flowers in little pieces. When a whole flower is placed in resin, a lot of air bubbles get trapped and come out in the curing process. When you tear them in little pieces like in this jewelry and use a good resin, bubbles are less likely to form. Using a lighter quickly over the surface can also help with those stubborn bubbles. Here’s the link to the resin I use:

      @@leehomestead3424 - Thank you for the reply! I’ve never heard of this brand. I’ll give them a try. I always have a problem with bubbles. I did try to put a small dried flower in resin. Maybe that was my mistake- using it whole. I have the same issue trying to use real candy in resin too- bubbles galore! I do use a lighter. Accidentally set the flower stem on fire 😂

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely understand! Those bubbles get stuck underneath the object and rise up during curing. It can be quite frustrating sometimes. I hope this resin helps!

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would depend on each type of earring and where you are selling them at. In general try to sell your items for 40-50% more than what it cost to make them. Also, take into account any fees that you will have at a craft both or selling online and add that into your price.

    • @leehomestead3424

      The resin I use comes in two parts. You mix part A and B in equal parts together. Make sure to read the directions of the resin you get before mixing. I’m an Amazon affiliate so here’s a link to the resin I use: amzn.to/44Jyjjq

    Could you have used UV resin?

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! As long as your item is small and the uv light can penetrate the entire item and your mold is clear. I would test a small piece first to see how it does in the mold you’re using.

    Beautiful jewelry! Can you please share the type of flat hook you placed on the square earrings? & the UV light you use? I didn't see either in the description. Also, I'm new to this but planned to use E6000. Is this method with UV resin much better? Sturdier?

    • @leehomestead3424
      @leehomestead3424  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this uv method is sturdier than E6000. You could try both and see which method you like better.
