This video is slightly outdated, because several changes made it difficult to get Gold Tactics consistently on Normal Mode. I recommend running on at least 30 Entropy now for the Shop Refresh and Sortitio Rewards. The rest of the run setup info should still apply though! Only buy Potentials, Tactic Ascensions, and Shop Re-Rolls since money will be pretty tight at 30E. Room Priority: Exchange (Unless you have low EP) > Exchange Point Space > Tactic Space (Until you get what you need) > Sortitio > Advanced Battle Space
I love this game so much. Definetly in my top 3 favorite rougelikes ever. I thi k the legacy system is done this way because at the end of the day, it's a rougelike and they need to keep that element of randomeness. I personally dont mind it and i enjoy trying to make the legacy characters i have work somehow. If you could just slot in the legacy you want at any time then theres nothing stopping you from taking the most min maxed builds on all runs and that would get stale really fast. Overall very well explained video for beginners tho.
@emila6 They changed the wording, but the rates stayed the same functionally. It's functionally never been 100% chance, and 57% isn't correct either, so idk what's up with them changing the numbers. It's nearly a guaranteed chance even though it says 57%. Not getting it happens, but rarely.
Here's a setup. It's a bit of a pain, but all runs will be guaranteed instead of needing any selection RNG at the end of the run. Make sure you're running a fully upgraded Ice Tactic Rate Mind Crystal to make things a lot faster/reliable, and follow the rule of Discarding any Tactic that isn't necessary. Legacy Character 1: Frost Skill/Attack + Frost Burst (You'll want or already have a character like this anyways) Legacy Character 2: Multi-Ice Spikes + Any 2nd Selection Ice Spike Tactic (Good for getting Summon Ice Spike + Dashing Shadow as well) Character 3: Take Character 1 and 2 as your Legacy at the start of the run. Pick up Summon Ice Spikes and Ice Spike Respawn. Your Legacy Tactics from Characters 1 and 2 will allow you to get these in just two Tactics.
Thanks for the guide. It's really easy to get a specific Legacy character. I have a blast with Es with Ice skills. But it keeps me wondering. Say I have Legacy Char 1 and Char 2, then I create a Char 2 to inherit that Legacy. What would I do with Char 3 after the run? Because its Legacy skills will be quite random, since I would experiment and have fun during the run. I seems to me that it only makes sense to keep those character in Legacy that have desired Legacy tactics.
Yeah... the Legacy Tactics System is cool in concept but very flawed. Unless you're actively trying to game the system, you end up with far too many random/useless characters. Especially with how limited slots become over time. One thing that Character 3 could be nice for is passing on Red Tactics, if you didn't already have them on your original ones. But as you said, if you're taking all Tactics on the character or trying random things, the character will likely be too random to be a good Legacy.
so choosing your 2 legacy characters gives you tactics from before runs? - does that mean if i have a tactic for basic attacks - and choose this legacy - i get from started a badic attack tactics and if so can i switch it? im at the beginning - i like use lightning on the cat girl - but my legacy got from the start fire basic attack .... can it be switch during the run ? or does basic attack tactics doesnt come anymore , cuz i got one already? its a little confusing
Yes, legacy characters allow you to start the run with certain tactics. You can replace the tactic, but only if it's just the basic tactic without any of its tactic upgrades. So for example: If you have Frost Attack in legacy, you can replace it. If you have Frost Attack + Frost Burst, you can't replace it any more.
I saw your Chance Boost mind crystals increase the spawn rate of tactics by 100%. But mine only go up to 57% when I max them. Did they get nerfed or am I missing something?
@millenium_knight7547 They changed some of the Mind Crystals, but Chance Boost still seems like nearly a guarantee every tactics space. Feels a lot higher than 57% to me.
I'm always on the most recent patch, but they change things often. They heavily reduced the EP gained from discarding Tactics in Normal after I made this, but you should still make enough by the end.

nicely explained! GJ
Going to subscribe and watch later. The games systems see incredibly obtuse and convoluted
they feel better the more hours you put in, that kind of comes with the territory in the BlazBlue franchise
Did they change chance boost mind crystals from a 100% to 57%?

How do you easily get ice spike respawn and summon ice spike? its been difficult to even pull a ice spike respawn

@@Fury-ju6md oh so if the basic skill has an upgrade tight to it then both attack and burst cant replace anymore? ok thats good to know thanks!
@@kiillu2008 Yep, that's correct. The Tactics system is pretty confusing at first, but you'll get used to it more over time.

There is a shop in omega sector? Where do I find it?
It's right in the area you start at. Looks like a diamond shaped thing that you can interact with to go into.
