Great video, but I don't think it'd lead to full time powerlifters. Most olympic athletes are below the poverty line, and 4 x 100 meter sprinters for example often have years of making under 10k. One gold medalist female shotputter is a makeup artist for a living. And that's one of the premiere sports with extremely deep historical roots. I'd actually bet that the lifters with a top 10 following on social media already make more than most olympians. Not everyone is Bolt or Phelps.
Yeah man. I was leaning towards the side of it being a good thing initially. On reflection, I'm probably more on the side of just letting powerlifting do it's thing. I think powerlifting could take some inspiration from CrossFit in terms of making itself (and competitions) a commercial success. Thanks for commentating though man, huge fan!
Powerlifitng will only make the Olympics IF: -O ROM benches are eliminated -Squats are walked out -Conventional deadlift ONLY -RAW ONLY And most importantly... -Members of the Olympic Committee are powerlifting fans
Agree with all points, besides the DL. At least for me I hate conventional even without a bar just getting in position feels just wrong for me and if it does for me it sure does for millions of people. Sumo for me and for a lot of others just feels more comfortable to do and healthier for my body at least I feel less strain on my back. I do agree with the Raw only and the bench tho, especially the bench.
Brisbane 2024 Olympics get to nominate a sport. I wonder If these same procedures and steps apply for the sports nominated by the host. If not, PL could make a push in the games.
Olympics is first and foremost entertainment, I think the general public will find powerlifting boring compared to Olympic weightlifting. And the general public/internet will meme the shit out of Sumo and Arch bench press. To save face, powerlifting should stay off the world stage imo. And they don't want another "drug" related sport in the Olympics.
Totally agree. Although there has been a lot of discussion about arching on the bench press lately. Candito did a great video on it last week. I think that needs fixing regardless.
Don't tell me that all the sports in the Olympics are entertaining. Have you watch the damn thing? Sailing, golf, womens boxing, marathon and more and more "entertaining" sports
I would at least like to see a raw upper body strength movement added to Oly Lifting. Either by adding the Bench Press or bringing back the Clean & Press to make it a more well rounded strength sport.
Would you like to see Powerlifting at the Olympics?
i know it's quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yes I want it.

@@IRNKIND CrossFit!!! ??? No. Not again. Nnoooooooooooo!! Noooooooooooooooooooooo
We really need Powerlifting in Olympics
Thank you for your support of powerlifting

For the next World Games, Powerlifting will have equipped and raw categories.
I believe raw powerlifting will come into the olympics
I really hope so
Doubtful. Even Olympic Lifting is on the way out and the last interesting sport in the Olympics for anyone who is into strength will be gone.
That flame lighting with an archer was great.
Very good video, well done!
Why doesn't strongman compete in these events tho
Because olympics are big joke 😂
Strongman is untested and the amount of PEDs used in strongman is unreal.
Can you do a clarence0 edit?
Because if you took all the elite lifters out that are on peds you'd be miles down the talent ladder
4:03 Weightlifters get caught doping more than powerlifters.
It should have been in it along time ago
I don't think it would be fun to see powerlifters (light categories mostly) pulling sumo and arching like a worm on bench on the Olympics.
It's funny how you listed equipped lifting becoming obsolete as a bad thing
Shots fired!
Where'd you go :(( if you come back plz make a video on Sean, Taylor, Blaine, any Chinese weightlifter, or julius

Raw powerlifting def should be in Olympics.

Rules in the Olympics should be stricter. Prolly one for conventional and one for sumo. Also, overarching should NOT be allowed.

fuck no did u see how unaestically the press looked, people wouldnt wannt to watch that
What the fuck lmao, this is the dumbest take
strongmanshouldbe in it aswell
Not only is powerlifting not an olympic sport, looks like 2028 isn't going to have olympic weightlifting either.
is there a limit🏋1980🏋
I think powerlifting is not in Olympics because it is NOT athletic.
I believe it's athletic enough. Especially compare to sharpshooting
I don’t think the IOC is interested in yet another roided up sport.
Because the powerlifting squat is a joke
the squat is fine? whats wrong withpowerlifters squats lol
@@enzyte9215 its a halfway down squat
@@spanglishonly6509 not halfway. More 2/3 of the full squat.
@@manosgialopoylos165 that's still not full
I really hope you know the rules of powerlifting atleast now after 2 years
Strongman is better
It's a shame!!!
