      nah anyone below site manager couldnt give a fuck how much it cost 30million pound controll tower or crappy flats in croydon they get paid the same wages either way there more concerned about what's for dinner

    • @13minutestomidnight
      @13minutestomidnight 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed with the comment above. The managers at the very top might be thinking nonstop about the 30M (well, for all we know), but the team seemed far too level-headed and experienced to let the admin push them into working when it wasn't safe (in fact, they did refuse, and the guys up top had to swallow it).
      Ironically, it's the guys out in rural Canada shifting those massive silos that really seemed to be working to the absolute limits of what was safe (hell, what they were doing certainly didn't look safe), just because the job was so damn difficult.

    The elevator move takes a lot guts, skill and courage, the tower move is nothing compared to the elevators. They make it look more difficult than it really is. The tower is travelling through flat concrete surface, the elevators are travelling through snowy, dirt and hilly roads.

    • @bunnyrabbit936
      @bunnyrabbit936 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the weight would most likely damage the tracks not to mention less control when stopping and no ability to turn as your be on a track

    • @justindb18
      @justindb18 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are two different tracks. La Rivière (where it came from) is a CP line that runs east to west across southern Manitoba.
      Somerset was a CN line that ran east to west across southern Manitoba 12 miles north of the La rivière track. The Somerset CN line was actually removed in 2007, 2 years after the elevator was set up in Somerset.
      So in other words, it was physically impossible to move down rail tracks because the tracks in the two towns shown here run parallel to each other 10 or more miles apart. Also owned by separate companies, these tracks don’t connect anywhere.
