Any advice for structuring independent & dependent claims for a complex system with various elements, where some features (and combinations) are novel & inventive, some are novel but not inventive, some are not novel? Some confusing things are - if there are multiple independent claims, is it a good idea to "build up" the entire complex system via dependent claim section for each independent claim or is that unnecessary? And also, for the features that are not novel, is it better to use the fewest possible dependent claims on those, or maybe even avoid including at all?
In inventions its advisable to file more than one application if required in a product patent e.g. eye of the missile is used for door closers, various cameras etc. So the process and products both need to be patented . Designs too need to be regd with drawings .
"The European Patent Office". Is this an EU Patentamt? They appear to be based in München, so is this the Deutsches Patentamt, or a division that covers the whole of the EU or Europe in one application? Currently I am only familiar with the UK patent office and the German Patentämter in Berlin and München. I am currently preparing a patent myself and was looking to make my first application at the Patentamt in Berlin or München since I will likely approach the German industry with this concept first, purely for licensing purposes. I would never entertain making the product myself (except the prototype model). It is designed to be integrated within existing products. Interesting videos so far, have subscribed. Besten Dank.
I’m not sure I understand. When you are in a patent lawsuit defending your patent would you ever take any of your claims out or would you leave them all in?

Infringement is of a regd patent where its the claim which is granted to you is used by infringer without your consent .
