I just put my first pod on three days ago. I switch from Medtronic and I am loving my freedom. No more getting stuck with my tubing. A lot of people say it’s big but I feel like it’s smaller. Because with my old pump you had the pump, the tubing, and the infusion site.
Well unless you got a CGM and use your phone (or pump) as a receiver. So assuming that, you got a) a pump, a short tube and the small infusion site b) the bulky pdm and the also quite bulky pod I'm still using pens, but I would rather (and will once the Dana R2 pump launches in Germany) use a regular pump. If I were a girl, that might be different, as I could just toss the PDM in my handbag. But as it stands, my pockets are already full as it is now. I can still cram a small pump in there, but not a pda.
My daughter is little . 12yrs old , less than 100lbs and she doesn’t Notice it . Playing sports its been life changing , along with going to the pool, swimming etc . She has a sling bag she carries everything in ( snacks , glucose meter in case dex fails etc ) and I like you actually can choose from more sites than you can a tubed pump ( no planning on how to hide it , no worry of having pockets etc ). We use uni solve to get it off . Soak patch for 30 seconds peels right off with no pain !
I love my Omnipod, have had it for a year and a half and only a few minor issues with the adhesive at a certain point but customer service is very good and I'm very happy. It's easy to get off when you get out of the shower.
I went from a tubes pump to the omniPod and will never go back. I hated being tethered to something. The tubing was always in the way it hanging out of my pocket and way more noticeable. The pod can be put in your stomach, back, or hip and it is barely noticeable - no more trying to figure out where to shove all the tubing. But you are absolutely right, it is a personal preference. Everyone should have the pump that they are most comfortable with. Happy pumping 😊
I am a T2 Diabetic and when my endo recommended Goin on a pump I didn't want to because of the tunes, etc. When I found the Omnipod I was excited to try it. Four years later I cannot be without it. Testing and pump all in one convenient PDM. The pod is so small to me I never notice it. I do wear a Dexcom as well. The Omnipod comes in a nice carrying pouch which holds everything I need even the Dexcom receiver. I don't have any issues with the pods sticking nicely thru the 3 days but wow I never had it so stuck on hard as you did. I love my Omnipod and wouldn't use any other pump. For me personally it is the way to go.
It was fun to see you try this! I completely agree that it's totally a personal choice. What works for one t1d might not work for another. I love my Omnipod and attribute my overall lack of anxiety with my diabetes to the pump. But it's so great that there are different options for us, and that we can all find something that works for us and makes us happy :)
I've been podding for 4 years now and I love it. Just a note about adhesive. They now have a "less acrylic" pod that helps on sensitive skin. And I use "skinprep" under. You can also use "unisolve." to remove it. I use that to take off my Dexcom. I don't find carrying the pdm any harder than carrying a meter so that's not an issue for me. For me the tube set was thumbs down. During the day with pockets would be ok but sleeping, pj's without pockets...it would wrapped around me in no time!
Just started with the Omnipod. It is different. I haven't ever had a pump before, so having to wear something on your body 24\7 is definitely something you have to get used to. It is bulky under your clothes, but for all us diabetics, we really don't have a choice on how it appears. I heard alot of things about omnipod and I also really wanted something tubeless. I have a dog and some young and toddler family members.I definitely don't like changing it. It doesn't hurt taking it off but, it leaves my skin a little red and the site wear it was previously, kind of hurts for a day or two. But, so far so good I guess.
Hi! I’m currently on an animas pump too! I’m going back and forth between Tandem and Medtronic. I also think the Omnipod is a bit to bulky. I love your videos so much, they’re really helpful. I was diagnosed when I was 11 and just got my pump three months ago, I love it so much! Keep making more videos!
I figured out that wearing it on my arm is a major fail. I wear it only on my tummy, and my lower back. I enjoy it being discrete, especially when wearing dresses. 6 years on it and it completely changed my life. The PDM you do not have to carry with you. You only need to keep it close when you are administering insulin or syncing. I leave it in my purse and I have never forgotten it or left it behind because as you know it becomes second nature, but to each one it's own. Thanks for the review :) P.S. Maybe because you already wear a CGM, there are way too many things to carry. As far as I know, Omni is working with Dexcom to create a multifunctional pod that will do both. At some point it will become available and also the upgrade will allow you to use your smartphone to control it as an option if you don't want to use a PDM. I can't wait.
I usually put my omnipod the other way so that I can see if the needle is inserted into my skin properly through the window and it look less bulky that way too.
I absolutely adore my Medtronic 670G. But i have one of those crazy demo kits, I had no idea one could actually use it. LOL I guess i better go read the instructions. However, I do love my pump.
I got my OmniPod (Demo Kit) today and Google directed me to your video. Very friendly and informative. I don't get how we are to understand the delivery system or how long a pod last. Three days is a very arbitrary number. This demo kit is like going to restaurant but you don't know what kind of food they sell. As a Canadian we get all this stuff at no cost. I'll probably order one and if I don't like it I'll go back to my Animas or Medtronics meter and sensor.

My daughter also gets insertion anxiety so we’ve been using prescription numbing cream (emla) and it helps. The only downside is you have to wait 45miute to 1hour before inserting. It may help take some of your anxiety away.
I had the omnipod first. I was horrified of tubed pumps. I liked there pump but didn't like the pdm. I used to leave it at home all the time and then couldn't eat! Things I did like: 1. you can wear it in weird places. I loved wearing it on my calf and on my chest. I have never tried a tubed pump on my chest yet but I had REALLY good absorption there. 2. It was soooo fast and easy to put on and I could literally change my pump in 2 minutes and there is so much less garbage when changing the pump. The insertion also is a lot less painful. 3. So much easier to wear with a dress and dose your insulin! But, even with those things, I am liking having a tubed pump, now that I have a waterproof tubed pump.

I got a Dexcom in August and it’s amazing, my blood sugars have never been this well controlled! I’m in the process of ordering the Omnipod, and I can’t wait to be tube free! Having the tube attached to me and my clothes has become a nuisance over the years! And spending time at the lake during the summer with a tube free pump that I don’t have to detach will be amazing! I tell ya, being a diabetic who needs a pump and Dexcom to control my sugars sure is expensive! My insurance covers my infusion sets or Pods, but the rest is up to me!! UGH!!!!
Danica can you please do a video on insulin and weight management? When I was way out of control with my sugars I lost weight quickly and when I started my injections I gained weight and it’s happened each time I start and stop my insulin. I know I should alway take my meds but injections were killing me so I couldn’t keep up with them. I’m so happy my Insurance company finally approved me for an insulin pump. Do you have any tips or tricks for keeping a good weight while on insulin pump therapy?
Your carrying a pump anyways so it’s not an extra thing. You can leave it at home and still get basal insulin. It’s like when I had the pen sometimes I would forget it. So I always carry back up insulin. PDF isn’t much bigger than my old Medtronic pump
Unisolve makes removing it (or a Dexcom) much easier. It also cleans up any adhesive residue pretty easy. Just peeling it off like you did looked painful. No need for that IMO :)
I like it because it’s waterproof so even when I’m showering or swimming I’m still getting insulin! It also makes wearing dresses and stuff easier because I don’t have to worry about where I’m putting my pump!
It would be really hard to tell if this option would work for my daughter without going through filling, an actual insertion and using the PDM (?). Just a pod to stick on wouldn’t tell us anything. With a Medtronic we could make our own closed loop system with the open source software. We currently use an Animas Ping and the support is going to run out 1 year before the warranty. Descisions descisions. Ugh!
I´m borrowing an OmniPod now, because my Accu-Chek (companion for years and years...) finally packed up. Most likely I´ll get an InSight, but it takes some time to get that sorted. Have to say that this is not a pump I´d choose for the future. Having that thing on my body just makes me way to aware of my diabetes - for some reason I constantly sense the pod, but it does not itch. I miss the opportunity to just give a quick no nonsense (not needing to skip all that calculator/carb estimation thing) bolus by reaching a couple of buttons. It makes me totally dependent on taking that PDM out, and toggle through several steps before I can set the bolus amount and go. I am also HIGHLY disappointed with the quality of the screen. Just a cheap lcd with crappy contrast. The remote for the Accu-Chek was actually better imo.Really hope they'll make som improvements for the future, this is not the what one should expect in 2018. I am visually impaired (not by diabetes) and it should not be necessary needing to use a magnifier (one more MUST remember. What I do like is the info on the main screen. Active insulin is a very nice feature, your last bolus and last BG if using the meter. Haven't left my PDM yet, and I hope I never will - forgetful as I am. This is me though. I've been pumping for 18 years now, and have really never had bigger issues regarding the tubing. I agree to it feeling less of a disease reminder having a small infusion kit in your body. But we are different, and I can absolutely see that some people clearly benefit from not having the pump attached to them.
I really liked how you took the back off of the omnipod, that was cool to see! And I haven’t done too much research on this, but for your insulin pump, are you looking to use a closed loop system at all, where the pump can change your basal rates depending on what your CGM says?
i’ve been a podder for about a week now and I really like it. not a big fan of having it on my arm. anywhere you can “pinch an inch” you can put your pod. I really like the chest area. right now they are having a 45 money back guarantee if you don’t like it since animas is going out of business you should try it out!
Try the Medtronic 670g! I have an Animas ping right now and it’s out of warranty and they stopped selling them :( which sucks bcs I wanted the vibe but oh well! I ordered the 670g and it’s a quick process
I would be willing to go with the OmniPod if it integrated with my Dexcom (or another CGM), but right now, it doesn't have a CGM feature of any kind. For that reason, since I love my Dexcom, I am going to go with TSlim when I get a pump in the next month or so. I do martial arts, so I think OmniPod would work better for that, since I'll have to remove the TSlim pump while working out, but for now, CGM integration is the determining factor for me. (Right now, I am using pens. Pretty well managed in terms of having decent a1c, but am wanting to avoid having so many insulin reactions, especially at night, and my endo thinks that a pump will help.)
Could you do some videos geared towards the friends of diabetics? I have a friend who has Type 1 diabetes and I love to find out as much as I can about but Google can only tell you so many facts before it starts to get confusing for a non diabetic.
I've been on the omnipod since 2013 & I'm kool with it. I've never been on a tubed pump before this & I'm glad I haven't .it is alittle big a clunky but I'd Rather wear that than take needles. I just hope they make it smaller.
I loved it too not even needing a PDM I bolus from my mobile was great! :-) The downside I found was me needing less insulin and the lowest it could go was 0.5 which I think they are making it less now! Thank you for the video!

My same thoughts about it and went with the Medtronic 630G but in June was updated to the 670G. The auto mode takes a few weeks to a month to get use to your body chemistry but I now don't leave home without it, lol. Dexcom I still think has a great sensor and tried it for longer than a year but I did not like that I had to use another brand of pump. Dealing with one company is nice and same with insurance having one company billing. Miss seeing you and your friend comparing pumps so maybe an idea for future videos.
Hey DiabeticDanica. I guess you can't really answer this question based on that test (so this question is really for the Omnipod users who are seeing this video). My question is that I heard that you feel the insulin moving around when you have the Omnipod on. I play tennis, so that distracts me from playing. Do you feel that too, when you're running that the insulin is moving around in the pod? Thanks in advance for giving me your opinion.

I'm am to the point where I can get the pump now but I have heard so many good and bad things about them. I don't know what would be best to get. I've had people tell me that I want a pump because it will change my life for the better but I've also had people tell me that I absolutely don't want one. So I don't really know what to do.
i have medtronic which still bit expensive here and i sure that omni pod must be expensive as paying installments of mercedes benz and i think omni pod have less capacity of insulin
Hey have you ever tried easy remove spray? My sets and my cgm plasters are really strong and impossible to take off. I get my spray on prescription, but I'm sure you can buy it on amazon.
My son who is 15 dislikes the Omnipod for the same reasons you do. He wouldn't even try the Omnipod demo kit. We are in the process of ordering a Medtronic pump for him. In Canada there are only two pumps to choose from.
I'm actually getting a tslim x2 since animas is shutting down. I never would have know about the tslim if it hadn't been for you mentioning it in your animas announcement video. I'm really excited for it!
Jose they put out the announcement back in September that they will no longer be producing and distributing pump supplies in the us and canada, I'm still not 100% clear why though.
I had that pump and I hated it, I wasted so much insulin because it kept coming off.. and it broke too much in my sleep and I had to go to the hospital because of DKA twice I don’t work well with pumps
I think you put omnipod upside down, I make the window at the top. It hurts when I put it on my hip, Like driving or sitting in chairs. I have less fat on my arms but I also put it up a lil higher, and dexcom is on the other arm. Its never hurt or been annoying. I have have it fail a few times and the constant beeping when its going to be expiring. Dexcom is suppose to be merging with Omnipod, would that change your mind? I did not like the Vibe. Animas was huge on my body and hated it clipped, omnipod on my arm doesnt get in the way. Ive tried putting it in my bra too, and awk bc I dont forget its there. I forget the omnipod all the time. Ive never bled taking off omnipod but dropping the ping I would bleed on my clothes.
I wanted to ask, do you ever experience irritation with the dexcom site? I love wearing my dexcom but the problem is that for some reason my skin gets extremely sensitive with the dexcom site and I can sometimes only wear it for about 4 or 5 days before the irritation becomes unbearable. I've tried a few different methods but I haven't really been able to find something good to help.
I have been on a CGM for over a year. First the Libre, one infection, yes I use alcohol. I have been on the G6 for several months and another infection, this one more serious. Cellulitis. Just finishing up antibiotics. I guess it is almost part of being diabetic. Would I stop using it, not a chance I hate finger pricks. Going to try the Omnipod soon.
Danica - your full test should be with the insulin ... the trial one they usually give to us ... doesn't give you the full view. I used my pussy cat charm and also got some Pods from friends who knew how anxious I was to try it before the cut off date of December 27, 2017 for Animas users to take advantage of the free PDM that is being offered to Canadians (and probably you down there in the US of A). I'm kinda liking it ... but you'll have to wait for my final #dblog in a few weeks - but we both have similar cons ;)
I have the ping pump and I really dislike it. My insets break all the time. I"m always having spiked blood sugars because the inset will stop delivering insulin properly. I don't mind the idea of carrying a pdm because since I got diabetes over 20 years ago I've always carried my insulin and glucometer with me wherever I go. Now with my pump I just carry my ping glucometer and my pump of course. I'm getting a new pump at the end of the month and I can't decide which pump to get. I'm debating between the omnipod, minimed 670g, and the tandem. Any insight or experience you have with these pumps would be helpful. Thanks for your videos. :)
Does it say what kind of adhesive it uses? I'm supposing that it use latex based adhesive, if so I wouldn't be able to use them because of the latex allergy that I have. :-/
The only reason why people use an omnipod is because it is tubeless apart from that there isn't much appeal to it in my eyes go with the tslim x2 because you can continuously update it when needed and it's touch screen of not then go with the minimed 670g
I don't Ike the idea of the size. I just don't think my daughter would like it. The decisions after animas stopped making pumps it's between tslimx2 or the Medtronic670g
No you need the Dom at all times. Animals does not make pumps anymore. I am going to Medtronic cause I too like everything on me. Insurer gave me a free pod so will use it when wearing a dress where a tubed pump will not work.
OmniPod has been the absolute worst experience of my diabetic life. Please, please, PLEASE do your research before getting this device. Could not be more disappointed....
Have you ever heard of Mastering Diabetes? Look them up online. It's a diabetes program created by two type one diabetics. They're amazing at helping you live with and manage diabetes. Not saying that you need help with your diabetes but I know for me personally as a diabetic I like to learn as much has I can about diabetes to hopefully help me live a better life. :)

you still have to carry that PDA thing tho, don't you? It's a bit less stuff on your body, but actually more stuff to carry around in total.

The Omni pod is what I’ve used for years and it’s my favorite of all, I play soccer and have never had an issue

That's a perfect idea! There was no needle with this one so I didn't really consider that :)

@jaspal singh its tube free so you feel a lot more free, you can move around and not worry about the tubing. You really done notice its there much.

I'm an Omnipod user and it's great for me. I'm clumsy so no tubes to get caught on stuff is a big plus, and I like the auto priming and auto insertion
same for me! I would be a mess with all the tubes, haha.

Depending on where you place it, it's not even noticeable. Love my omnipod!

I got a Dexcom in August and it’s amazing, my blood sugars have never been this well controlled! I’m in the process of ordering the Omnipod, and I can’t wait to be tube free! Having the tube attached to me and my clothes has become a nuisance over the years! And spending time at the lake during the summer with a tube free pump that I don’t have to detach will be amazing! I tell ya, being a diabetic who needs a pump and Dexcom to control my sugars sure is expensive! My insurance covers my infusion sets or Pods, but the rest is up to me!! UGH!!!!

Danica can you please do a video on insulin and weight management? When I was way out of control with my sugars I lost weight quickly and when I started my injections I gained weight and it’s happened each time I start and stop my insulin. I know I should alway take my meds but injections were killing me so I couldn’t keep up with them. I’m so happy my Insurance company finally approved me for an insulin pump. Do you have any tips or tricks for keeping a good weight while on insulin pump therapy?
Your carrying a pump anyways so it’s not an extra thing. You can leave it at home and still get basal insulin. It’s like when I had the pen sometimes I would forget it. So I always carry back up insulin. PDF isn’t much bigger than my old Medtronic pump
Unisolve makes removing it (or a Dexcom) much easier. It also cleans up any adhesive residue pretty easy. Just peeling it off like you did looked painful. No need for that IMO :)

I like it because it’s waterproof so even when I’m showering or swimming I’m still getting insulin! It also makes wearing dresses and stuff easier because I don’t have to worry about where I’m putting my pump!
It would be really hard to tell if this option would work for my daughter without going through filling, an actual insertion and using the PDM (?). Just a pod to stick on wouldn’t tell us anything. With a Medtronic we could make our own closed loop system with the open source software. We currently use an Animas Ping and the support is going to run out 1 year before the warranty. Descisions descisions. Ugh!

Thigh is my fav stomach second fav. But almost always have dex and pump on legs
you may want a lift spray on your prescription and also so tape to put on it to stop occlusions and make the pod last longer.
I´m borrowing an OmniPod now, because my Accu-Chek (companion for years and years...) finally packed up. Most likely I´ll get an InSight, but it takes some time to get that sorted. Have to say that this is not a pump I´d choose for the future. Having that thing on my body just makes me way to aware of my diabetes - for some reason I constantly sense the pod, but it does not itch. I miss the opportunity to just give a quick no nonsense (not needing to skip all that calculator/carb estimation thing) bolus by reaching a couple of buttons. It makes me totally dependent on taking that PDM out, and toggle through several steps before I can set the bolus amount and go. I am also HIGHLY disappointed with the quality of the screen. Just a cheap lcd with crappy contrast. The remote for the Accu-Chek was actually better imo.Really hope they'll make som improvements for the future, this is not the what one should expect in 2018. I am visually impaired (not by diabetes) and it should not be necessary needing to use a magnifier (one more MUST remember. What I do like is the info on the main screen. Active insulin is a very nice feature, your last bolus and last BG if using the meter. Haven't left my PDM yet, and I hope I never will - forgetful as I am. This is me though. I've been pumping for 18 years now, and have really never had bigger issues regarding the tubing. I agree to it feeling less of a disease reminder having a small infusion kit in your body. But we are different, and I can absolutely see that some people clearly benefit from not having the pump attached to them.
I really liked how you took the back off of the omnipod, that was cool to see! And I haven’t done too much research on this, but for your insulin pump, are you looking to use a closed loop system at all, where the pump can change your basal rates depending on what your CGM says?
i’ve been a podder for about a week now and I really like it. not a big fan of having it on my arm. anywhere you can “pinch an inch” you can put your pod. I really like the chest area. right now they are having a 45 money back guarantee if you don’t like it since animas is going out of business you should try it out!
If you already have a Dexcom G5, go with the Tandem tslim x2
Try the Medtronic 670g! I have an Animas ping right now and it’s out of warranty and they stopped selling them :( which sucks bcs I wanted the vibe but oh well! I ordered the 670g and it’s a quick process
I would be willing to go with the OmniPod if it integrated with my Dexcom (or another CGM), but right now, it doesn't have a CGM feature of any kind. For that reason, since I love my Dexcom, I am going to go with TSlim when I get a pump in the next month or so. I do martial arts, so I think OmniPod would work better for that, since I'll have to remove the TSlim pump while working out, but for now, CGM integration is the determining factor for me. (Right now, I am using pens. Pretty well managed in terms of having decent a1c, but am wanting to avoid having so many insulin reactions, especially at night, and my endo thinks that a pump will help.)
Could you do some videos geared towards the friends of diabetics? I have a friend who has Type 1 diabetes and I love to find out as much as I can about but Google can only tell you so many facts before it starts to get confusing for a non diabetic.

I've been on the omnipod since 2013 & I'm kool with it. I've never been on a tubed pump before this & I'm glad I haven't .it is alittle big a clunky but I'd Rather wear that than take needles. I just hope they make it smaller.
I loved it too not even needing a PDM I bolus from my mobile was great! :-) The downside I found was me needing less insulin and the lowest it could go was 0.5 which I think they are making it less now! Thank you for the video!

Most people use skin prep for it as I have sensitive skin as well and need it for all adhesive and with skin prep no irritation
Wow! T1D 28 of my 30 years of life here 🤘 but, 15 yo cousin just got T1D. And said: he’s getting an omnipod. I never even knew what they were or heard of them. But ya, sounds like I’m just like you haha! Pump since ‘03 maybe?
I agree 100% with what you said. The omnipod is a good idea, but it has a long way to go before ill use it. I'll stick with my medtronic pump.

I think it's great option for some it's great to have options.
Not just you, removing adhesives and scratching/touching it is my guilty pleasure! Especially my Dexcom, which I wear for three weeks at a time!
My same thoughts about it and went with the Medtronic 630G but in June was updated to the 670G. The auto mode takes a few weeks to a month to get use to your body chemistry but I now don't leave home without it, lol. Dexcom I still think has a great sensor and tried it for longer than a year but I did not like that I had to use another brand of pump. Dealing with one company is nice and same with insurance having one company billing. Miss seeing you and your friend comparing pumps so maybe an idea for future videos.

It is the latest and since the UK tried it there were many upgrades for the latest US 670G. The transmitters are about the same as the Dexcom.
Ive tried it on the back and it was easy to forget it was there!
Hey DiabeticDanica. I guess you can't really answer this question based on that test (so this question is really for the Omnipod users who are seeing this video). My question is that I heard that you feel the insulin moving around when you have the Omnipod on. I play tennis, so that distracts me from playing. Do you feel that too, when you're running that the insulin is moving around in the pod? Thanks in advance for giving me your opinion.

I'm am to the point where I can get the pump now but I have heard so many good and bad things about them. I don't know what would be best to get. I've had people tell me that I want a pump because it will change my life for the better but I've also had people tell me that I absolutely don't want one. So I don't really know what to do.
i have medtronic which still bit expensive here and i sure that omni pod must be expensive as paying installments of mercedes benz and i think omni pod have less capacity of insulin

Hey have you ever tried easy remove spray? My sets and my cgm plasters are really strong and impossible to take off. I get my spray on prescription, but I'm sure you can buy it on amazon.
My son who is 15 dislikes the Omnipod for the same reasons you do. He wouldn't even try the Omnipod demo kit. We are in the process of ordering a Medtronic pump for him. In Canada there are only two pumps to choose from.

I'm actually getting a tslim x2 since animas is shutting down. I never would have know about the tslim if it hadn't been for you mentioning it in your animas announcement video. I'm really excited for it!

Jose they put out the announcement back in September that they will no longer be producing and distributing pump supplies in the us and canada, I'm still not 100% clear why though.

I had that pump and I hated it, I wasted so much insulin because it kept coming off.. and it broke too much in my sleep and I had to go to the hospital because of DKA twice I don’t work well with pumps
I think you put omnipod upside down, I make the window at the top. It hurts when I put it on my hip, Like driving or sitting in chairs. I have less fat on my arms but I also put it up a lil higher, and dexcom is on the other arm. Its never hurt or been annoying. I have have it fail a few times and the constant beeping when its going to be expiring.
Dexcom is suppose to be merging with Omnipod, would that change your mind? I did not like the Vibe. Animas was huge on my body and hated it clipped, omnipod on my arm doesnt get in the way. Ive tried putting it in my bra too, and awk bc I dont forget its there. I forget the omnipod all the time. Ive never bled taking off omnipod but dropping the ping I would bleed on my clothes.
I wanted to ask, do you ever experience irritation with the dexcom site? I love wearing my dexcom but the problem is that for some reason my skin gets extremely sensitive with the dexcom site and I can sometimes only wear it for about 4 or 5 days before the irritation becomes unbearable. I've tried a few different methods but I haven't really been able to find something good to help.
No, I haven't but I know people do! I've heard spraying nasal spray on the site works sometimes
I am allergic to plastics, I use Skin Tac to layer between me and the Dexcom, haven't had an issue yet with Dexcom
I have been on a CGM for over a year. First the Libre, one infection, yes I use alcohol. I have been on the G6 for several months and another infection, this one more serious. Cellulitis. Just finishing up antibiotics. I guess it is almost part of being diabetic. Would I stop using it, not a chance I hate finger pricks. Going to try the Omnipod soon.

Danica - your full test should be with the insulin ... the trial one they usually give to us ... doesn't give you the full view. I used my pussy cat charm and also got some Pods from friends who knew how anxious I was to try it before the cut off date of December 27, 2017 for Animas users to take advantage of the free PDM that is being offered to Canadians (and probably you down there in the US of A). I'm kinda liking it ... but you'll have to wait for my final #dblog in a few weeks - but we both have similar cons ;)

I have the ping pump and I really dislike it. My insets break all the time. I"m always having spiked blood sugars because the inset will stop delivering insulin properly. I don't mind the idea of carrying a pdm because since I got diabetes over 20 years ago I've always carried my insulin and glucometer with me wherever I go. Now with my pump I just carry my ping glucometer and my pump of course. I'm getting a new pump at the end of the month and I can't decide which pump to get. I'm debating between the omnipod, minimed 670g, and the tandem. Any insight or experience you have with these pumps would be helpful. Thanks for your videos. :)

Does it say what kind of adhesive it uses? I'm supposing that it use latex based adhesive, if so I wouldn't be able to use them because of the latex allergy that I have. :-/

I've learned that I'm very allergic to latex & latex based adhesives, so I avoid them. It's why I can't use an insulin pump. :-/

Awe, that sucks! Where did you put it? For me, legs ALWAYS hurt. Arms are a bit sore, and then tummy and back are the most comfortable.

Omnipod was way too bulky for me. I’m all about small stuff. It would be so cool if it was slimmer. It’s got to be awesome to be tubeless.

The only reason why people use an omnipod is because it is tubeless apart from that there isn't much appeal to it in my eyes go with the tslim x2 because you can continuously update it when needed and it's touch screen of not then go with the minimed 670g

No you need the Dom at all times. Animals does not make pumps anymore. I am going to Medtronic cause I too like everything on me. Insurer gave me a free pod so will use it when wearing a dress where a tubed pump will not work.

Have you ever heard of Mastering Diabetes? Look them up online. It's a diabetes program created by two type one diabetics. They're amazing at helping you live with and manage diabetes. Not saying that you need help with your diabetes but I know for me personally as a diabetic I like to learn as much has I can about diabetes to hopefully help me live a better life. :)
