Hindu pushups are great, thank you for these variations! Regular pushups can be so monotonous, this adds much more complexity to the same ole' calisthenics routine. Also really love how these incorporate the back and stretching the legs as well.

So the main difference between Sadharan Dand and the Ram Murti Dand seems to be speed? The second exercise looks like it's slowed down and you stretch into it more. Is that correct?
No, in ram murti dand you come back as you go, in sadharan dand you directly come back in first position 🙏

Hello. Very good videos. Great location choices.
What breathing patterns do you think are best for these and the squat variations? I've noticed that when doing regular Hindu squats, if I breathe out going down and in up, so my whole motion moves with the contraction and expansion of the breathing, it increases my endurance. I can do only about 50-100 squats before wanting to rest for several minutes when breathing in down and out up like is commonly recommended in Western exercise culture, but with out down in up breathing (and keeping the breathing and movement somewhat slow and relaxed) I can do hundreds. The breathing expansion and contraction matching with the movement shape reminds me of yoga sequences. So do you always use breathing in when moving up from the ground and out when going toward it for leg exercises? And for upper body, same pattern, sometimes different, always the opposite? Is the breathing for the sadharand dand like during sun salutations -- out toward facing down and in toward facing up? Or I should maybe describe it as out away from the ground and in toward the ground, so it would be described in relation to the ground opposite of the squat breathing pattern. Maybe for weight lifting with the upper body the breathing pattern could be mirrored from the legs/squat/lower pattern, so out when pushing the weight up and in when bringing it toward the body, and if that's a good pattern for upper body exercises then maybe the common Western advice for using that in down out up pattern on squats too was because of starting from a focus on what works for upper body endurance and then assuming the pattern should stay the same for lower body instead of being mirrored. Or maybe, for example with an overhead press, breathing in when pushing the weight up and out letting it down, different from the Western recommendations, would make for more endurance. But surely people in the West have tried both patterns. So maybe the reason for the Western breathing pattern recommendations is because those breathing patterns prioritize muscle hypertrophy. Like for squat, maybe breathing in down out up makes more bigger legs than breathing out down in up, but if breathing out down in up makes for more endurance it probably makes for denser muscles and more functional strength even though the person wouldn't look as muscled. Maybe the breathing pattern affects how the nervous system prioritizes different functions, like muscle hypertrophy and so size or a more balanced kind of development that results in better endurance, connective tissue health, injury prevention, general health and maybe efficiency and flexibility of the nervous system/breathing interaction itself.
I also agree that instructions for beginners about good form to prevent injuries when doing lots of these regularly would be good. I'm interested in the potential of doing hundreds of reps of Hindu squats and pushups after reading about Great Gama doing thousands as most of his training (other than pushing and pulling on a tree trunk haha). But there are varying opinions in English about good form for joints when doing that many reps. Showing the most safe traditional forms, tested for generations, that might often be described not in English, would be helpful.
Wow, you wrote so much! Well even i don't know if there is a pattern for squats. As we do hundreds of reps i don't think there will be any control over breathing, at least I can't control
@@AniruddhaStrength Haha yeah. How much I wrote is how much I respect the quality of the videos.
I do the squats slowly so that the breathing contraction and expansion can be in pattern with the contraction and expansion of the squatting and standing movement and the breathing stays slow and comfortable to do for a half hour or so. I focus on the way the breathing and whole body form interact and usually don't count the reps so I can focus on each one and not think oh I should probably be getting tired now because I've counted to a high number. Recently I've exercised before sunset, so I start when the sun is a height from the horizon and do the exercises until the sun sets. Keeping going without counting until the sun sets is a good little motivation game and then sunset is a good time to rest too.
