  • Demonstration of the stabilisation in DaVinci Resolve to show the effectiveness on hand held wobbly video clips. The clips were taken with a camera and lens from OM Systems that has IBIS (in body stabilisation) and lens IS but due to the zoom factor of 150-400mm + 1.25x TC the video can still be wobbly. The trick is to not zoom in on the subject too much and you can get away with it in post processing using the DV Resolve stabilisation. The other option of course is to carry and use a tripod! The OM Systems OM-1 Mk II and 150-400mm f4.5 TC Prop lens were used to record the clips and synch IS in auto mode was turned on.

@@rogerhance5883 Yes, it's really good! I'm finding with the 150-400mm at 500mm it is quite hard to hold steady for video even with the synch IS unless you can rest it on a shelf in a hide or something. I rarely carry a monopod or tripod. So I allow a bit of space for cropping and use the DV Resolve stabilisation in PP.

@@macg33zr Well worth knowing. I have used it on one clip I did, but I had not left enough space around the subject, and when I cropped in, it was too tight in the frame.
