I think the reason I like your videos is the fact that you have a sports cards background and look at the values that could be attained. Good video as always 🤙🏽
It's amazing how applicable sports card learnings are to the Pokemon space. They are actually even more impactful because you can eliminate the unknows in sports like injuries/trades/off field issues. Plus it's a lot more fun!! :)

Its funny how these are sold out yet they are being heavily slept on. But I agree, in the future some weird catalyst will come when everyone will want to get their hands on these and they wont be MSRP! Great data!
I think it's a good sign that the supply/demand ratio is tilted in favor of the long term holder. I also couldn't agree with you more that there will be a time when these things just POP OFF. Not sure then when or the why but I'm a big believer!!
I think you’re absolutely right about Pokemon Center Exclusive ETBs. I just don’t collect them because they take too much space to store, but it is definitely one of the best products out there.
Yeah the space thing is a real shame… and there is so much wasted space in the box. I’d imagine that making them smaller would actually save the Pokémon Company money!!

I bought a sealed case of twilight masquerade PC etbs. I know singles are more volatile but im thinking of just busting them open and sleeving everything and saving the PC promos that way... any recommendations?

Everyone acting like they knew booster boxes were a better purchase than etbs. It is a recent jump that happened. 6 months ago all Investors were saying etbs were better. When the booster box goes up, the etb will follow. It hasn't had time to adjust. Etbs are just as good for the price. They should hold 1/3 of a booster box value (usually more), once sword and shield settles in. They display beautiful
I disagree, price per pack etbs aren't even close to booster boxes. And I have never ever heard anyone say etbs are better than booster boxes investment wise.
I did a video about a year ago where we looked at overall returns of BBs VS ETBs and ETBs were the winner. Then we did a follow up where we looked at returns by Sq Inch since ETBs are much bulkier and BBs came out the winner there. Then a few months ago we did a refresh on that ETB VS BB video and Sun & Moon ETBs were still the winner in overall % returns but Booster Boxes were closing the gap and ETB growth had slowed. I think the ETB Vs BB swings are cyclical. All will grow over time just in various stages. I do, however, think PC ETBs might be able to out pace them all in the long run!!
@@tayloradams245 not right now on sword and shield like lost Origin . Those prices have not even close to adjusted. Look at older etbs they are expensive per pack. And we do not know where the pokemon center etb will price per pack will go. It is a new concept. Price per pack on evolving skies is cheaper on the etb right now. Around 15 per pack. Booster boxes are 20 per pack on evolving cries. So you can disagree, but I am speaking truth
@@PikaPikaPapa I'm old school and I like booster boxes being a gen 1 guy. But etb display really nice too. Evolving skies etb are a better price than the booster box. Plus sets like hidden fates, 151 and crown Zenith are special elite trainer boxes. You mentioned some good points pika papa

I want the product that gives me the cheapest per pack price . Again im old school so of course a booster box is awesome. But I love the etb player guide. And also the etb display beautiful. Sword and shield is trending more for booster box than the etb. Give it time and the price per pack will catch up with the booster box

Hi pikapika! im not sure if i missed this in the video, but regarding the stamped promo cards, would you recommend investing in some psa10s off ebay sellers , or buying the raw card and sending them to be graded myself? i fear buying the raw because I assume that if they were psa10 worthy they wouldnt be selling them.
Awesome question! It depends on your risk tolerance... Just as you said buying raw off eBay can be risky and to your point a lot of people are into grading so if they were 10 worthy they'd likely already be sent in however you can still find a few Gems out there if you search hard enough!! Buying them in PSA 10 holders costs a bit more but you know what you are getting. If you buy 2 promos at $30 each ($60) and you grade them both ($40) You're $100 in and not guaranteed a 10... you'd have to weigh the costs with the risks... I buy a couple PC ETBs just to rip and submit the promos... my kids love ripping them and I buy another couple cases for my sealed collection. Kinda the best of both worlds for me!!
I have most of the scarlet and violet pc etbs. Missing only a few, 151 and obsidian, but I am continuing to pick them up. The stamped promos make them undoubtedly a great long term buy.
I have 7 of the 10 sword and shield pc etbs. I'm missing celebrations, go, and astral radiance. I would also like to get the Umbreon variant of the evolving skies pc etb
What is your opinion on specialty set PC ETBs vs regular set PC ETBs? Does not having a booster box help their potential as an investment assuming they are not printed more? Or does that not have any meaningful impact compared to other factors like the value of the top 20 cards in the set?
You are wise beyond your years!! I always take a larger position in specialty set PC ETBs for all of the reasons you mentioned!! No booster box and the most exclusive product from the set? Can't go wrong there!! Awesome call out!!
I like the ones that offer a special promo. The rest are just overpriced IMHO. 8:01 bingo. Especially when they're a popular mon. Those typically do better than randos that are just pretty cards with a stamp. 10:03 and it's the same thing when you look at promos from Asian sets. General higher 10 pops, but way higher in price here in the States.

If we believe that future demand for sealed product will come from the desire to open packs from these sets and chase these cards they used to years ago, and if we also believe that the preferred sealed product is a booster box, followed by probably a regular ETB. Where does future demand come from for a PC ETB? A product that we all agree you should never open and you pay a premium for. Do we think future demand is everyone wanting one of each to sit on a shelf to look at but never open? This is the question I can’t square in my head, which is why I have not participated in collecting PC ETBs.
This is a very good thought and good reasoning as well. But exclusive things in the pokemon world always seem to still have a heavy demand and with the pokemon company adding the stamped promos, I think those have a very bright future. The psa 10s already bring big money and some of them are hard to grade. I'm not sure if every PC etb will be a large ticket item but I do believe they will have the demand that makes them worth buying still. And for display purposes, I think a lot of people love that aspect and thats another added bonus. I love the chase products a lot.

I'm betting on future demand not current. It is of my belief that with the current low supply people in the future will really want these as a collectable item. Anything can and will happen in this awesome hobby but I'm pretty bullish on these long term!!
