Thank you very much this is very helpful. I am just five nine and the windscreen was too short for me! the wind noise was insane. I will definitely see if I can get one of these windscreens. thank you so much.
I was thinking “how tall is this dude to be lowering pegs and raising bars like that?” And then I saw you at 2:50. Yeeeeeah you make that 1300 look like a 400 😂
I'm way behind on seeing this, but I just got an '06 and apparently...you can also easily raise the seat an inch. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...
Glad I found this. FJ1300 (2015) is in my scope and I am B&T. I had always liked these yamahas but concerned with the ergonomics. Glad to know there are custom options out there. Today I might test ride one or two 2015 and see what feedback they gave me on this subject. Excellent review and to the point. Thanks for uploading this
I would love to get a motorcycle someday! My dad taught me the concept of manual transmission through a pit bike, and that’s as far as I’m allowed with 2 wheels ! I’m definitely going to try someday, I’m not a wheelie kind of guy anyway, I just love the freedom on a bike!
Have a silver blue 06. FJR w only 16 k miles new Dunlop road smart 3 tires (16 k miles life) and auto clutch. Heated grips standard. 5700.00. MS gulf coast.
I am looking at buying an FJR1300 and my two concerns are rider position and wind protection fir someone of my size ( 6’3”). I know that the best thing to do is to take one for a testride but those bikes always are set up with factory standard stuff. Your videos are very interesting.
What size shoe do you wear? I am an 11 shoe size. I just got an 05 as well and I noticed that the shifter is to close for me. I'm 6', 2" but only a 31" inseam so I'm long waisted. My stock wind screen has a lot of wind buffeting as well when at the top setting
6:48 this is the side I need help on lol. Did you have to take the entire fairing off to install? Otherwise looks super easy. Would love a short video how to do the right side
It has been a while now but I did not remove the fairing. Don’t recall if I removed a few connectors or not but I do recall pulling the fairing out of the way that little bit to get the bolt in.
Hey there came u across you video when searching for lowering pegs. Really good video. A few questions and hopefully you know the answers. 1. can you use any type of lowering peg or does need to be FJR specific, did you also have move the gear shifter and foot brake? 2. with the handle bar raisers, how high have gone up and did you have lengthen any cables? 3. also in line with Q2, did you have to modify the mirrors as your hands/arms are higher up?
You have to have the specific lower kit for the FJR. I did not have to make any major changes to the shifter. The brake pedal is a little out of line but I have been able to use it fine. Bar risers were a simple install. No extensions required for any cables. Mirrors were fine. Maybe a little more air hits your hands now but I am switching out to new mirrors anyways so not anything that concerns me.
Garauld is pretty handy as a fabricator - he might be able to make you something for that. I just bought some highway peg plates from him a week ago so he's very much alive and fabbing 🙂
Do you ever smash your shins into the fairings when attempting to use the pegs? I ordered a set for myself, but I'm 6'6" and afraid I won't be able to utilize them the way I was hoping... :/
Great information on a steal of a bike! Can you provide a link to the guy who did your forward pegs? I have a ‘13 model and am 6’2” and could use the extra position. Thanks!
Just bought an 06 model is it possible to lower the bike as my legs struggle to touch the ground it's very wobbly to hold up and turn around im petrified i might drop the bike it has a black sheepskin seat cover on it
They were made by MCL (Motorcycle Larry) but they are not available new any longer. I found mine on Craigslist on the other side of the Country and paid to have them shipped to me. I got lucky.

You deserve 100K subs the content is honestly really good! Keep up the good work
Regarding the plastic screws, they are strong enough to do the job (dont over torque them) but will strip and shear off if a rider goes over the bars.
Yeah - safety first!

The leg position is horrid. High and back if you have long legs. It was worse than a ninja
Where did you locate the foam grips on your FJR?

What modification has to be done to install a Winshield VStream Item N20301 ? Where to order it?
Wonder if the windshield will fit a FJR 1300 A, buld 2018?
I just put the Vstream N20302 on my Gen2 . Makes a huge difference for me (I'm 6'6")
I’m 6’4. Did you do any mods for more legroom?

Where did you get the lower foot pegs? Thanks much.
They are no longer made. I found them on a all Craigslist search and arranged to have them shipped. Got lucky.

@@acehandler1530 Thanks much. I'll look into it.

Yes. The fairing does stick out right at shin level. Have hit them pretty good a couple of times.
How tall are you? Just looking for a point of reference....im in the UK so dont have to worry about keeping cool
6’4”. Still loving the bike.
Great information on a steal of a bike! Can you provide a link to the guy who did your forward pegs? I have a ‘13 model and am 6’2” and could use the extra position. Thanks!
You just need to email him. No website. His email is in the description.

You should try without the seat cover first but you also can get longer dog bones and lower the bike that way.
Where is the Spyder
6'5 rider here... maybe I could make an FJR work afterall
How tall are ya? Just bought an 08 and I’m 6’5 and 260. It feels like a moped between my legs. 😂
Left side of fairing pushes right into your leg when foot is on Hiway peg. Right not much better. Tall riders are screwed.
And the lower foot peg? Thanks!

who makes the pegs give a link please
Highway Pegs Garauld TechWorks LLC gtwllc@stny.rr.com You have to email him.
I will have to get those foot pegs
I'm too short and you're too tall. Sad life ..
